Mira

The teacher’s voice filled the classroom as the lesson began but Mira wasn’t listening. Her mind was already jam-packed with even more questions from her conversation with Xenon. Questions that made her head spin as the lesson went on.

“So he’s from the city...I wanted to ask why he moved here but from his expression and the sad tone of his voice, it was best if I didn’t. I wonder what happened.”, Mira thought as she finally organized her thoughts, “Though, I still can’t find a reasonable explanation for how he could be born without an Advisor. When I get home, I should check the old records to see if anything like this has happened in the past. Hopefully, I’ll have answers.”

Afterward, Mira pushes these thoughts aside and focuses her attention on the lesson.

The afternoon bell went off. Students rushed out of their classrooms and headed towards the cafeteria. Mira packs her things and follows the other students.

“It’s lunchtime...I need to start my afternoon checkup on campus.”, Mira thought as she began walking around the school in search of corrupt Advisors.

She seemed completely unaware of the mysterious figure following her not too far behind.

As Mira walked around the school, she observed and checked on the other students’ Advisors. Like always, the golden, fairy-like creatures hovered near their human-hosts, measured the situation, and suggested how to handle these events.

“No sightings of any corrupted Advisors. That’s a good sign. I should end today's checkup.”, Mira mumbled as she began walking towards the cafeteria.

But a red-colored figure darted past Mira as one of her classmates, Sam, bumped into her. “Or not…”, Mira thought before facing Sam.

“I’m sorry. Were you hurt?”, Sam said as he stumbled. “I’m fine. But are you okay? You seem a little dizzy.”, Mira asked, concerned.

Sam tried to reply and fainted. His Advisor was dark-red, a sign of corruption, and used this opportunity to take control of Sam’s body. As the Advisor began to attack, Mira led it behind a building so she could purify it without anyone noticing.

The corrupted Advisor tried to attack Mira but she was pulled out of the way by the mysterious figure from earlier, Xenon.
