The Egnius Light

The Restoration's End

The Restoration's End

May 19, 2020

“In the plane of Treter it is said magica was derived from God himself. Those who possess the ability to use it are referred to as magnicks…”

After the passing of centuries of strife, warfare and conquest, the world of Treter now an established term to explain its entirety had reached an age of awareness. Conflict was minor and it was mainly focused on retaining the current structure that had been built up by the conquerors who had rose to power.

The year is 653 AFD. AFD, a term meaning after the accepted discovery of the Firmament or After the Firmament’s Discovery. It is the established geocentric time frame. It’s a dating system used by scholars, merchants and travelers. In this current age, people started to take the date very seriously. The term Firmament refers to the spiritual barrier that surrounds the concentric plane. This barrier is shrouded in Icey Mountains. It is the literal edge of the world surrounding it completely. Currently there are three main inhabited continental nations across the plane. Nua, Shinda and Casia.

Nua, the largest continent, the most populated and possibly most powerful kingdom when united under one sovereign is a nation that has been built on war and battle. This nation dwells to the northern world and its large land mass stretch almost to the centre of the plane. There are 9 regions in the land governed by one King.

Shinda is the second largest continental nation and was established by Nuan travelers over 150 years before the accepted discovery of the Firmament. This continent is located to the southern part of Treter. Nuans refer to this land as the Neo World. Its land is rich with energy providing resources, however the climate is harsh and its habitat a cold land full of snowy planes. The people of Shinda unable to farm used their advanced knowledge to develop technology. This would be used to extract vegetation and grow it instantly with the use of alchemy. Later, Agricultural Factories became a central focus in maintaining the food reserves and production for it citizens. Unlike Nua which is a nation during the centuries that struggled to maintain peace even once united, Shinda has never been in true conflict and is under the control of a government of elected officials who control the military.

Casia is the smallest continental nation and is located to the eastern part of Treter. There are only a few human settlers and pretty much all its habitants are elves. It is a land of peace and prosperity, where nobility is the only form of control used to enforce the law through the calling of social meetings under the Emperor.

Before the restoration era, a period of struggle to battle off all bands against the dominant powers occurred, at this time, this was the preservation era. It was a period where the ruling powers in Nua preserved the hierarchy despite an iron King. The era ended when the dominant forces in Nua had disconnected. When rising powers saw the dwindle of supremacy over the nation, they formed rebel armies to take over the Nuan continent and seize power for themselves to begin a new dynasty. The ruling powers that were disconnected fought back to preserve the structure and thus, this brought out the restoration era. The restoration era was focused on the strife the ruling parties had to face in order to restore power to a sole ruler. Word spread to troops throughout the nation about the most powerful force, the Imperial Army. They heard stories of the warlord brothers Dugal and Yomato Tharal who battled endlessly throughout Nua. Hyperion Shadowbreaker, another hero who rose to prominence during the restoration era eventually took over the Battalion of the Saints the second most powerful army in the kingdom responsible for Nua’s security. Once the two most dominant armies in Nua had reassembled and the hierarchy within them had been re-structured, the kingdom was set to be restored by no other than Yomato Tharal as the sole ruler of Nua. It was almost like a repetition of the past scuffle during Egnius Tharum’s conquest eras before. At that time, the dominant leader of the Imperials being Tharum eventually allied with the Battalion of the Saints, the only army capable of overpowering his own. Both armies took over the Nuan continent to its yield and established the land as one whole nation. Similarly in this restoration era, Yomato Tharal united the dominant forces and was declared King by the ruling parties. Despite the kingdoms restoration, problems were yet to arrive, problems regarding the agenda of a secret society controlled by Yomato.
