As Kippy walked through the door, she expected it to be empty, to her surprise she heard the TV on in the living room. She pokes her head into the doorway to see what she assumes is her father sitting on the couch with her mother nowhere in sight. She walks quietly upstairs to her corner bedroom where she could finally settle down for the night.
Slumping onto her bed, she looks over at her desk filled with schoolwork.
“I don't even want to do.” She whines.
Her mind reels over tonight's events, “Why did I react that way to the red moon, what did I do to Ren? I'm glad Ren cared enough to walk me home, but did he had to be a creep about it. I hope no one got the wrong idea about it.”
"Sigh. I guess I won't be sleeping tonight especially after sleeping all that time in Ren's house." Her face feels hot.
"Argh! Damn it!" Kippy yells, rolling around on her bed. "Why is that the thing that sticks with me!"
She hears someone's footsteps coming towards her room. Sitting up on her bed as the door creaks open.
"Honey? I thought you were spending the night at Danny's?" Kippy’s mom asked as she sat down on Kippy’s bed next to her.
Kippy shifts in place. She combs through her brown hair. Kippy replies “Something came up and I didn't want to impose."
Mrs. Blaze face turns soft as she asks "Alright, do you want anything for dinner? Your father and I already ate."
"No thanks, I ate over at Danny's." Kippy turns toward the door not looking at her mother.
"Alright. Tell me if you change your mind." She says as she gets off the bed and heads towards the door.
"I will thank you mom." Kippy mumbles.
Mom closes her door, and Kippy hears her go down the stairs.
Kippy decides to take a quick shower, noticing she and her costume stinks.
She comes back into her room, ready to go to bed but her brown eyes are drawn to the homework on her desk.
"I guess I will try to do some homework." She thought as she sat down at desk.
That night she falls asleep at her desk. Starting to dream about the red moon, her hunger grew until she bit down on Ren’s neck and crushed his body. She stands over his lifeless body wanting more she howls.
Startled wake, covered in sweat, her heart pounding, in a daze she stares at the clock in her room. After minutes pass, her heart starts to calm down, she notices that it’s time for her to get up for school.
