Helplessness and anxiety,
Life - a feeble existence
Fleeting and frail,
Death - a befitting end.
The notions of humans
both destructive and pure
Acting upon selfishness,
What a monstrosity.
Weak but strong willed
Survivability or self service?
We often prove ourselves
through violence and pride
How sinful one must be?
The atrocity of a living being,
those powerful and all knowing,
destroys the impoverished society.
A standard of convenience,
Pushing so-called rights when wrong.
A law with special exceptions,
Would that make the world a better place?
A clear difference between correct and right.
But people only see what they want.
Turning a blind eye for the sake of their own.
I can do whatever I want, they say.
Placing our hopes upon the new generation,
But what have they learned from their ancestors?
To cheat, to kill - the desperation,
Using all means just to acquire what they want.
What is a real future without you in it?
That silent wish for change,
the modification of the world -
most definitely starts with our own hands.
“It can be difficult to speak truth to power. Circumstances, however, have made doing so increasingly necessary.” - Aberjhani, Splendid Literarium: A Treasury of Stories, Aphorisms, Poems, and Essays
