The adventurers were returning from their expedition riding on a wagon to get back to town. They were curious about the baby that looked abandoned. James who was driving the wagon asked “So what are we gonna do with the baby”.They stayed silent for a couple of minutes trying to see what each other had to say, but no one answered. Ed broke the silence saying “I'll take care of the baby”. They stared at him surprised. James said, “are you crazy that means that you can't adventure with us no more”. Ed trying to calm him down he said “Don't worry ill have someone take care of him while adventuring". Who is that gonna be." Question James. Ed was thinking but then he remembered that his master who taught him magic retired from his job from a small magic academy in the kingdom of Palin so he would have a lot of free time. He told his party members what he was going to do and they agreed.

Once they arrived at the town's gates, two guards told them to show their adventurer cards. One guard asked, “Why do you have a baby with you isn't it dangerous out there to be with a baby?” Ed answered “he was alone in the forest and I’m gonna take him in. Is that ok?” The guard nodded and let them in. Slowly the gates opened and they went in. They went straight to the adventurers guild to turn in all the mana cores they had found on their expedition. Once they entered everyone's attention appeared to be on them. James asked, “ What's with them?” He had already forgotten about the baby in Ellen's arms. Ed quickly walked to the attendant and pulled out a bag that had the mana cores he picked up. The attendant whose name was Alice was a female with bright blonde hair and a shorter than Ed said “Would you like to trade these in?” Ed nodded looking around noticing the looks of confusion. Alice noticed too but didn't ask them about it since she knew that the forest had a lot of mysteries about it. Once Ed got the money from the cores he and his party left the guild. They split the money and since Ed was the one who said that he was gonna adopt the baby, Ellen gave the baby to him. “Take good care of him ok,” she said as she was heading away from Ed. James just nodded and said, “See you in a couple of days”. Ed nodded and turned away and walked home.
