I slumped on the couch, depressed.
"How did it go? " Mevis asked.
I sighed and replied, "I feel like I lost. "
Air wrote: The plan?
I covered my eyes and sighed, "I think I fooled him. Water is quite gullible in battle. "
Mevis looked between us and asked, "Why are we telling them that? "
I got up and went to the kitchen to prepare lunch. Air was in the living room with Mevis, writing down what she was thinking.
She gave Mevis a small smile: They expect Fire to do everything.
"Why? You're an Elemental too, right? "
Air: I'm an airhead. I lose things easily and forget everything. I can't be trusted with anything.
"Then the plan...? "
Air: It's to make them think Fire has them.
Mevis then nodded.
The tags, four of them were split like so. Mevis held one tag, I held none. Air held three of them and was to act passive. My job was to be overly aggressive, trying to get tags. The only issue I had was if I faced Space. She had sworn not to read minds during the game, to make it more interesting, but by no means was she an idiot.
Air and Mevis talked a little more, laughing with each other.
I finished making lunch and asked, "What's next? "
Air wrote: I can go out with you?
"How about me? " Mevis asked.
"The insurance. " I replied her. "We're just going out to check a few things. "
"I feel useless. "
Air wrote: We'll be back soon!
They hugged each other and the two of us left. Air walked beside me, floating from scenery to scenery, looking at them with a weird interest. I just tried my best to guide her towards the park. She looked at me and nodded, pointing at a swing.
The high point of us together?
Air can send me information, and no one else can catch on to it. She had told me that, sensing the surrounding air, she could identify another one of us. She sat on a swing and started playing on it, her face showing a form of childish joy.
I stood at the side, waiting.
A child walked up to me and said, "Mister, why do you wear that suit? "
I looked at him. He had black hair and deep brown eyes. He smiled sheepishly before grinning. I was prepared to run.
