The girls all woke up to the smell of pancakes and coffee brewing. After all they were hungry so they got out of bed. However they did have to drag Erica out of bed.

"Erica come on, I smell pancakes for breakfast." Kasey says picking Erica up from the couch she was sleeping on. Erica groaned and wouldn't stop complaining about the time all the way down the stars until. Grace threatened to shove her off the stairs.

" Good morning ladies," Alex's mom said as they entered the kitchen. Pointing to the pancakes she said, "You girls hungry?" They all looked at the pancakes and almost tackled each other to get to them. Before Grace could even get to her breakfast when her phone rang.

It was her dad. " SHIT!" she thought as she walked out of the room to answer the phone. She answered the phone.

" Yes dad?" she asked fearing the answer.

" Where are you you useless asshole?" he asked clearly slightly drunk.

" I am at my friends house," Grace says cringing waiting for the answer, " You said once what you told me to do you would let me go."

" Like hell, I did!" He yelled loud enough to cause Erica to jump from across the room. " Get your ass back home right now!" He yelled so loud she jumped a little.

" Dad please just"

" HOME NOW!"

" Yes dad." Grace said stiffly putting her phone back into her pocket. She turned around and walked back to the kitchen. Looking down she said.

" I am sorry Alex I have to go,my dad." She stopped because Alex put her hand on her shoulder.

"You know you don't have to got right?" She said looking at Grace with a sad look in her eyes.

"Y-yes I do," Grace said moving towards the door with all her stuff. " Thank you Alex for inviting me." She said opening the door. " Oh yeah and Kasey," She smirked, " I like your fighting spirit."

" Thanks."

MEANWHILE AT GRACE'S HOUSE

When Grace got home she closed the door really quietly. She walked to the stairs.

" Where have you been?" her dad asked causing her to stop on the first step.

" I told you dad, I was at Alex's for her birthday." She didn't turn around cause she was to afraid to look at his face. Especially when he was drunk.

" What are you afraid of me?" He asks grabbing her wrist. "Do Not Ignore me you Wench!" He yelled tightening his grip. She tried getting out of his grasp but couldn't.

" DAD LET GO!" She yelled tears welling up in her eyes. He didn't let go, instead he grabbed her other wrist and shoved her down on the stairs.

" You are a worthless pile of shit," He screamed slapping her across the face three times. " You never leave until I say you can!" Grace growled a little and said.

" No wonder mom left you!"

" WHAT! HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT!" He was so angry this time that he punched her. Once on the arm and second in the nose. Shocked she shoved her father off of her and wiping the blood from her nose on her sleeve.

" Look what you have done," He said bitterly, "You made me the bad guy." Grace looked at her father in an aw struck amazement.

" I HAVE DONE NOTHING TO YOU! YOU ARE THE BAD GUY!" She yelled grabbing her stuff and running out the front door.

" Call me when your not drunk off your ass!" She yells in tears.

" GET YOUR ASS BACK HER NOW!" He yelled angrily throwing a beer bottle at her. All she did was flip him off and start walking. His angry voice started disappearing the farther she walked.

Walking down the street she headed back to Alex's house. She found the tree she normally climbed up whenever she was in need of a problem fix. She climbed up the tree and knocked on the her window. Of course Alex was reading a book when she knocked, nearly scaring the crap out of her.

" What are you?"  Alex stopped and noticed her face, but mostly her nose.

" What the hell happened?" She asked Grace when she opened up the window. Grace looked down and mumbled.

" It was my dad we got into a little fight, I just was wondering if." Alex stopped her, shushing her by putting her finger to Grace's lips

"Stop," She said," You have your things right?" She asked her.

" yeah why?"

" Good your staying with me," She said determinedly.

"I," She paused, " Okay." Sighing Grace put her stuff down and headed to the bathroom to find Alex.

" Here," She said handing Grace a thing of lotion and bandages, "It will help with the bruises."  A half smile peeped up on her lips causing Grace to blush a bit.

" T-thanks," She said grabbing the lotion and puts it on the sides of her face and ribs.

" I am going to go grab some ice," Alex headed towards the stairs, " I got you an extra pair of clothes for you on the bed." When she finally left the room Grace started crying, grabbed the clothes and headed into the bathroom to change.

On the clothes was a note saying

" I love you Grace. Let no one tell you otherwise. You are my best friend, a person who deserves so much better than that. You are beautiful and smart. You are my love."
