While it was believed that Unforce was the only foreign exchange student, it soon became apparent that a mistake had been made by principal Vikhus. His inability to perform simple administrative tasks were infamous among the students. Apparently, pablos was never supposed to be in Aljon's class in the first place. He was replaced by three students: Frej, Mein and Deus. Today would be their first day at Lost Hope High.
As the school bell rang and everyone went inside, Aljon and Kert joined their classmates in English class. Aljon quickly noticed some unfamiliar faces, they had to be the foreign exchange students. He and kert sat down in front of them. Mr. Dyno, who was seemingly having trouble turning on his PC, left the classroom to get help from the school's IT department. With the only person with authority absent, hunting season had begun.
Immediately after the door had closed, Ancient, Lava and Mega turned to Eim simultaneously. They started bombarding him with lumps of paper. Eim had to crawl under his table in order to take cover.
"As usual," Kert said.
Aljon nodded and looked behind him. He noticed the exchange students were observing the ordeal, seemingly confused. "Don't worry," Aljon said. "They've always been like that. Don't get in their way and they won't hurt you."
"Right. I'm Frej, by the way," the student said. "This here is Mein and that is Deus." He pointed to the girl sitting next to him and to the girl sitting behind him, respectively.
"Nice to meet you," Aljon said. "I'm Aljon and this is Kert."
The bombardment of Eim had stopped, it seems the cool kids ran out of ammunition. Auri was already working on his English homework, looking at South every now and then, who was playing on his phone. Dark, Unforce and Fat were talking and laughing every now and then. Eddie was sitting in the back corner of the class, seemingly working on his maths homework. Crash and Dragon were... Lord knows what they were doing. Tucka, Tja and Justas were also discussing something. Kelvin was nowhere to be seen, he was probably ill.
"The German guy, Unforce, he's also an exchange studen," Aljon said to the new people.
"Huh, I see," Frej said, with a disinterested tone in his voice.
Mr. Dyno walked back into the classroom with the guy from the IT department. The school could only afford one person, but principal Vikhus still insisted on calling it the "IT department". The IT guy often didn't even seem to know how computers worked. All he did was trying to turn it on and off again, before googling the problem. This time, however, he immediately saw the problem.
"It can't power up because it doesn't have power. The PC isn't plugged in."
"Oh, it's not? My fault," Mr. Dyno laughed, embarrassed.
The IT assistant plugged in the PC and pressed the power button. The PC successfully booted up and the he left the classroom. It was only now that Mr. Dyno noticed the mountain of paper surrounding Eim's spot.
"What's this, Eim? Would you mind cleaning up after yourself?"
"I-I didn't do that, sir, it was..."
"I don't care who it was, Eimantas. Collect the paper and throw it into the bin, immediately."
Eim sighed and did what was asked of him. Ancient, Lava and Mega had a satisfied look on their faces. Frej cleared his throat in order to get Mr. Dyno's attention.
"Oh, right!" the teacher said. "We have some new students with us today, don't we?" He looked over his desk, which was covered in pieces of paper. After searching through them, Mr. Dyno found the name list of new students.
"Frej, Mein and Deus, is that correct?"
The three students nodded in unison.
"Ah, good. Welcome to this school, the three of you! Despite the cuts in funding, I'm glad we could still hold our foreign exchange program. I'm Mr. Dyno, your English teacher. I'm sure the other teachers will introduce themselves to you as well. Have you-"
He was interrupted by an acorn hitting the window, which caused a loud thump. Mr. Dyno rushed to the window and looked outside. Aljon also looked outside, and managed to catch a glimpse of what seemed to be an older student, running away. Mr. Dyno returned to his original place.
"Anyway, uhh, I wanted to ask, have you checked your timetables already?"
"Obviously, sir," Frej replied. "We wouldn't be here otherwise, would we?"
"Oh, haha, that's right. Well, I take it it's all fine, then. Let's get started with our lesson."
As Mr. Dyno's inefficient lesson progressed, the students grew bored. Nothing much happened except for Crash and Dragon screeching every now and then. Eventually, the lesson ended. They wouldn't have another lesson for fifteen minutes. Ancient, Lava and Mega immediately went outside, where someone appeared to be waiting for them. Ancient said a few things to the person and then gave him some money. In return, he got a pack of cigarettes. Ancient hid the cigarettes in his bag as he walked through the door, expecting no one to see him. However, the three new exchange students were just walking past.
"What's that?" Frej asked.
"None of your business, kid," Ancient replied.
"Kid? I'm not a kid, and who was that outside?"
"His name's Sebid. What he does, does not concern you," Mega answered.
"Are those cigarettes?" Frej stubbornly continued asking. Lava stepped forward. "Listen here, child of mine. If you ask just one more question, it'll be the last one you've asked in a while, how about that, huh?"
Frej remained silent, but he was clearly upset. The cool kids moved on and sat down at their usual table. The new exchange students sat down at the table with Aljon, Kert, Dark, Fat and Unforce. They all got to know each other a little better. Then the bell rang, which indicated it was time for religion class.
After Ms. Partnerbot had introduced herself to the foreign exchange students, she asked them a few questions regarding their views on religion and life in general. When it was turn for Deus to answer, she replied:
"Life is pain, death is rest."
Ms. Partnerbot didn't know exactly how to respond, and most of the class started laughing. It seems Deus had made quite the introduction of herself.
After religion class was Mr. Fredboat's music & arts class. Here, Mein made a name for herself by making a beautiful painting in a very short amount of time.
After some other classes, during which nothing interesting happened, the day at school was over. Everyone headed home. Aljon and Kert walked along their usual route.
"They're interesting people, aren't they?" asked Kert.
"Yeah, agreed. I'm glad they were assigned to our class."
The two then seperated, taking their own ways back to their homes.
