Silent fell on the once lively room, the three were staring one at the other, the tension was killing Damien, please let my wish come true.
"Ok" was all his-father said to cut through the nerve wracking silence. Mrs. Gent stared at him with daggers in her eyes disbelieving what she just heard.
"Thanks dad" Damien beamed with happiness rushing his way around the big table to hug his dad with affection and love he couldn’t mask.
"But why?" Mrs. Gent still couldn't accept this, wising for it to be a nightmare instead.
"Mom I really really love you and I'll definitely miss you a lot, but please let me do that, plus it's not like I'll be gone for three years you know phone calls, holidays and stuff like that, you'll see me more than enough trust me" he smiled at her.
She start sobbing before pulling him into a bear hug "my boy is growing too fast, mom will be so lonely I already miss you my precious boy"
Damien hugged her back "thanks mom I love you so much"
A few days later and they were all settled, his dad chose that one public school that as a slight above the average school program, thinking he should at least get a proper education. His mom who cried for the past two weeks finally came to terms with this; the school was 3 hours ride from home so yes no chance of him staying at home.
After looking through the dormitory website her heart broke to see the poor condition he'll have to live at, deciding she will never allow her son to live in that dump, she used all of her connections to ensure he'll have a room of his own on top of a throughout reconstruction and redecoration.
Damien didn’t mind it much, it's not like he moved to really try the poor life, he just wanted a break from his boring life, so having a nice place to stay and money on hand didn’t seem so bad to him.
Actually even the fact he was richer than the rest of the students at school and them knowing that didn’t bother him as much, contrary seems like it could make things easier for him at school.
Damien packed the last cardboard box, laying back in relief on top of his king size bed looking at the ceiling
"It's going to be the best time of my life"
