The deep red currants that blocked out the morning sun were pulled open swiftly, letting the sunlight into the dark room.
"Tobi, it's time to get up," a man said as the young teen groaned annoyed as he hid deeper under his covers. "C'mon kid, Red Leader is already at breakfast," another man said in a rougher tone as he yanked the copper orange covers away, exposing the younger man to the cold air, "Please don't make my job more difficult than you usually make it."
The young man glared up at the two soldiers with half awake silver eyes. He wasn't angry at them, just annoyed and still wanting to sleep a while longer. Today he felt like being difficult so the teen pulled his pillow over his head with another groan, "Leave me alone Paul.... I was up till dawn working...." he had actually been up till 3 a.m. but if Red Leader was up, that meant Tobi had to be up too.
"Yea, I know," the dutchman rolled his eyes, "Kid, A. K. already dragged you to bed last night, don't make me drag you out of it..."
Still being stubborn Tobi just huffed at them, refusing to get up.
The taller soldier pinched the bridge of his nose, "Don't make me get the ice bucket again, Tobi...." Patryk lightly threatened, it was too early to deal with a rebellious teen again, and he hadn't even had enough coffee yet...
Letting out a sigh of defeat, Tobi threw off the pillow and climbed out of his bed. Running a hand throw his messy caramel brown hair, he let out a yawn than stretched, waking up the rest of his body.
"Ok, ok... 'm up...." both soldiers went to stand by the door waiting for the boy to get ready.
The young Norwegian sluggishly walked over to his wardrobe to put on something warmer than a tank top and sweatpants. "Anythin planned for today, or can I just hang out with my friends?" He just asked to be polite, he didn't actually listen. After all he already planned to ditch homeschool lessons. The young man slipped on one of his orange hoodies over his black tank top and switched out his grey sweats for a pair of ripped blue jeans, and a pair of black sneakers.
He wasn't sure if Patryk was still talking to him, so he decided to just head to breakfast after grabbing his holo-cell and trenchcoat, and walked past the two men while putting on the holo-cells wireless earpiece.
And once he was going down the hall the two looked at eachother.
"He didn't hear a word I said... did he...?" the taller of the two asked and the other shrugged chewing on the filter of his cigarette,"Probably not."
The hallways of the base were long and had different turns and doors, if he hadn't lived there for so long, he probably would have gotten lost. So luckily he could check his holo-cell without having to keep his attention on where he was going.
"Hey guys," He said aloud, the holo-cell catching what he was saying,"Anyone awake yet?" the device let out a chime to notify a connection.
[Ey Tobi! Goo-mornin] - Ethan greeted, though it sounded like he was saying it with food in his mouth again, he could even hear his mom scolding him from the other end.
[It's too early Commie Jr....] - Theo groaned, sounded like he was hung over again.
"Morning to you too Jehovas Jr." Tobi teased. Knowing Maxx he was still asleep at this time, it was 10hrs of beauty sleep or a day full of complaining if they woke him. Personally he preferred the latter.
So the three of them started talking about what they should do today, making a mental note to fill they're 4th member in later. Luckily the walk and chat with his friends helped Tobi wake up for breakfast with his father.
As busy as his father was each day, Tobi was thankful he at least made time to have breakfast and dinner with him even when he had a particular full plate to deal with.
It wasn't long before he made it to the dining room, and the moment he turned through the doorway he could see his father sitting there at the head of the table.
The teen couldn't help but break out into a smile as his step gained more of a spring to it, "Good morning, Father." Tobi greeted happily, keeping a mellow enough tone, he could already tell his father was slightly stressed that morning. Still, Tord turned to his son and greeted him, smiling, "Good morning, my little soldier," he greeted back as the young man took his seat.
Tord was already dressed in his military uniform, aside from the red coat, which was hanging from the back of his chair, Tobi always thought the uniforms were cool looking.
Tord reached over and gently ruffled the teens deep caramel hair, though it was mostly to actually tame the mess it was in. Once his hair was a bit more free of tangles, the front part instantly formed a horn, much like his own hair. Tobi playfully swatted away his father's hand and started filling his plate with food. "You came out with a bed head again," Tord said as he took another bite of the bacon on his plate.
"I'm not a child, father." Tobi looked down at his plate blushing, trying to hide a smile. He would never tell him, but he often didn't fix his hair until his father made an attempt for him, it was actually one of the only ways he could be sure his father was actually paying attention to him.
The two of them ate quietly, and honestly, Tobi just enjoyed having his father within arms reach of him. The army leader gave his son the usual light lecture, telling him to behave for his teachers, to do his class work, and to NOT try and ditch Paul and Patryk or any of the other escorts, if he wanted to walk around the outer plaza of the Red Base.
Tobi nodded he head, not willing to openly argue or complain with his father. Though odds were he was going to end up doing the exact opposite anyways.
After breakfast was over, Tord and Tobi parted ways for the day, on they're ways to cause they're own kind of trouble.
