Tamara puts in a five-dollar bill into the change machine and grabs a handful of golden coins. I followed behind her looking at each arcade machine.
“Ha ha, was I really happy going to an arcade,” I thought to myself until I heard Tamara’s gleeful squeal from a few feet away. She turns around with a big smile on her face, “They have House of the dead!” She steps up to the machine, takes out the red model gun from the side, and points it to the screen.
“She looks like a kid at a toy store but I have to say I feel much calmer hanging out with her,” I thought as I grab the blue gun from the other side.
“Ready?” Tamara asked.
“Ready!” I answered.
After playing for half an hour I was on my tenth life and was amazed by Tamara’s aim accuracy and score, like she knew each targets whereabouts. She had a determined smile on her face and her eyes shined so brightly. She then turns to me, “I’ll need your help on this one,” as we saw the last boss popped on the screen.
“I’ll try,” I told her.
As we were getting closer to beating the boss, a loud bang rang in our ears which made Tamara scream and missed a few shots. Another loud sound came and the whole place went dark. I heard Tamara dropping the gun and grunting, it was not a grunt of her getting pissed but distress.
“There seems to be a storm outside, must have blown something out,” I overheard a worker, “We are still out but some of the other buildings lights are coming back on.”
“Well that sucks for us, we were almost there,” I said but I heard no response from her, “Tamara?” Still no answer but I could hear heavy breathing from her direction. “She must still be upset about the game,” I guessed, as another loud sound of thunder surrounded the room. I felt someone grabbed onto me and I notice it was from the direction where Tamara was. I stood still not knowing what to do in this situation.
“Wait…is she afraid of thunder storms?” I said to myself and without a second thought I wrapped my arms around her. I then took out my cell phone to look at the weather radar and held my head down to the side of her’s. “It’s okay, it’s almost over,” I said calmly and felt her nodding while holding me tighter.
I started thinking to myself, “Why does she feel smaller around my arms? She is taller than me but she not making me feel, less than like other women has,” I smiled lightly, “It’s like I feel like a man than a little idol doll being called cute by screaming fans that won’t date you if you were normal.”
Tamara’s cell went off making both of us jump out of the hug we were in. She took it out of her pocket and smile gently at it as she answers the call. “Ally, what’s up?” she answered in a low voice as I notice she was holding on to the sleeve of my shirt.
“I heard the storm outside and was calling to check up on you,” Allyson told her as we can hear everyone’s voices in the background getting louder and louder.
“Ye…Yeah, Itsuki is helping me calm down,” Tamara answered, “Ally, what’s going….”
“HEY!” Ally shouted.
“WHAT!? What happened?” yelled Tamara.
“This is not mine, this jacket is my friend’s,” screamed Ally, “I don’t give no craps about you being cold!”
“Ally! Did they hurt you!?” Tamara called out.
“Get away from me!” Ally cried out and Toma can be heard yelling.
Tamara lightly pushes me away and starts running towards the Karaoke Café, I followed. “Tamara, what’s going on?” I asked, as a long sound came from the storm which made Tamara scream while she dunks and gets back up to run towards the café’s door.
