The commentator nervously approached the staged, tugging on his collar and then adjusting his glasses before walking on stage. He glanced over at Thubbins unconscious body before speaking into the microphone.
"Well that sure was a tense fight," the announcer said. "Err, I mean conflict resolution." He corrected himself before continuing on.
"It looks like our newcomer here was able to overthrow Thubbins after a mere five minutes." The announcer grabbed Ronaldo's arm and lifted it up into the air with triumph. "Let's hear it for the umbrella warrior." The audience began to cheer for Ronaldo, with some reluctance, the terrible joke he made still fresh in their heads.
"Now," the announcer continued, "stay with us as we clear the stage and bring you a few words from our sponsors." The two medic girls from before hopped up onto the arena and started rolling Thubbins off the stage. The battered and bloodied Ronaldo walked off the stage and made his way towards Emi in the stands, sat down next to her.
"Sup," He said to her.
"That was a hell of a beating you took down there," Emi said while taking out a handkerchief. "Here, lemme help you out a bit.'' She motioned for him to turn his head towards her.
"How do I look?" Ronaldo looked at Emi with his battered face and made a wide bloody smile at her. Emi shook her head and started waving her hand at him.
"Yeah, you should ease up on that one buddy." As she dabbed the cut above his eye, she noticed that his face looked much better than it had in the fight. "How are you healing this fast?" She asked him.
"Breathing." He answered.
"Breathing?" Emi looked confused.
"I use a breathing technique known as tummo. I've been practicing for years but I can still only do a small amount with it." Ronaldo explained. Emi stopped dabbing his eye and a flash of curiosity sparked in her eye.
"What's tummo?" Her journalist curiosity shone through her smile.
"Tummo is the Tibetan Goddess of heat and passion. Monks use this meditation to be able to have better control of their bodies. The breathing helps with recovery, warding off illness, and can up the body's stamina, or endurance to the cold. There are some monks that use Tummo breathing techniques to sit outside in forty-degree weather, wearing very little. As they meditate, other monks throw wet blankets on them. Instead of freezing to death, they just remain calm and breathe, raising their body temperature until the blankets start steaming. It's said that Tummo masters are able to dry hundreds of blankets in that weather without much effort." Emi gave Ronaldo a side glance after hearing all of this.
"That doesn't sound too believable." She said. Ronaldo started laughing.
"Hey you don't have to take my word for it. You can just chalk it up to me being a fast healer if you want." Emi paused for a moment.
"Hmm," she said. "I'll dig into it."
They sat there for a bit listening to the advertisements for Jacque O Cola and Sensei Baka's no touch knock out martial arts before Ronaldo felt a hand on his shoulder.
"Hey!" A gruff voice caused Emi and Ronaldo to both turn around in surprise to look up at a young man with a hood obscuring his face. "We got some unfinished business," he looked down causing the hood to reveal the face of none other than Hector.
"Right Ronaldo?"
