It was the year 2050, and it had been about ten years since the Seven Stars Special Force was created. Since then, it had grown into one of the strongest companies in the world. It started out as a small mercenary group hired to hunt down criminals limited to several countries, but in only a matter of years, it had accumulated many bounty hunters all over the world, letting it expand to become a large organized association.
No one knew who was the owner and the ultimate boss of the Seven Stars Special Force, adding mystery to it. A handful of influential countries were against the existence of such an organization, with that much power and level of threat, but after the sudden disappearance of all those who disagreed from the political scene, the people who were hesitating decided not to voice their discomfort.
After three years, the organization implemented its first Country Crime Protection Program. The first one to reach out for help was the Madora Country, which at that time was completely desperate, having a staggering crime rate of ten percent solely in its capital city.
What did that mean? It implied that in every ten people on the streets, there were at least one who was involved with criminal activities.
Due to the global improvement in technology, the crime industry was also developing at an extremely fast rate. The terrorists created new drugs and weapons, and more people started crossing over into the underworld, hoping to get rich quickly.
Unfortunately, Madora Country's army couldn't keep up with them, and in desperation, they decided to hire the new rising force as a gamble. Although it was expensive, what they received in return was surprisingly all worth it. In about a month, the crime rate decreased by at least ninety percent, and the criminals were either killed by the agents or delivered to the country's specially-created prisons. Aside from those in the Seven Stars Special Force, no one knew how they managed to track down each criminal organization. No one particularly cared as long as the job was done correctly—it was all about results.
Madora Country, with itself serving as an example, encouraged others to choose Seven Stars Special Force as their countries' protector. This way, the United Nations Confederation was created.
Every country in the world joined the treaty. A year later, the organized crime groups operating in these countries were significantly reduced.
Of course, the Seven Stars Special Forces only focused on fighting organized crime groups and the most dangerous of criminals. It would be too much work if they had to catch and purge all the thieves and killers in the world. The respective countries' police forces took care of those, and with Seven Stars' help, their workload had been greatly reduced.
Five years after the organization was created, the crime rate all around the world had dropped to the point where almost every terrorist group had ceased operating for fear of losing their lives.
Because of that, the Seven Stars Special Forces went through tremendous changes. The organization no longer needed many members, therefore the mysterious boss decided to limit its slots for membership, leaving only true experts in the fold. From then onwards, one could only join Seven Stars after passing a special training program that was organized every three months.
The members of Seven Stars were divided into seven ranks, from lowest to highest: Private, Sergeant, Officer, Captain, Major, General and God, the last being a rank no one had ever gotten till now.
Each rank could be further divided into seven stars, and each star consisted of one hundred people ranked according to their contributions. For each mission a member successfully completes, he or she earns contribution points which improve their ranking. After a person surpasses the one before him or her in terms of points, they swap places. As a result, every three months, the last one hundred agents with the lowest contribution points at one-star Private rank compete with the new recruits from the special training program.
Because of this brutal competitive system, it was extremely difficult to join Seven Stars, as even those worst-ranked one-star Privates in the last three months were more than enough to crush the newbies.
It was also hard to advance in ranks as the contribution points were cumulative and had no reset. Agents could use them to buy various things from the organization or to exchange them into the common currency of the United Nations Confederation, but since those points would always be on their individual records, the agents would never disappear from the rankings.
Despite their reduced numbers, the threat brought by the reputation of the Seven Stars Special Forces were so effective that the missions requesting for them drastically decreased with each month. Soon, the countries in the United Nations Confederation stopped asking for help as their national police could already handle most cases. One country even broke their signed agreement, deciding to stop all payments for their protection services.
To their surprise, the boss of Seven Stars showed no signs of anger and allowed them to severe the contract without any legal consequences. The government of that country was ecstatic at first, but when they saw the Seven Stars' official statement announced to the public, their jaws dropped to the ground.
"We are no longer supporting and protecting the country of Alcaria as they decided to back out from the contract and we respect their decision."
This was the message released to the world, and the results were as everyone expected.
Multiple criminal syndicates swarmed towards Alcaria and built their bases there. In a span of weeks, the national crime rate sharply increased and their government realized what a fatal mistake they've made.
After years of oppression, the crime groups finally had a place to stay and develop. The country's police and army couldn't do anything to stop them. Even when they tried to block these criminals on the national borders from entering their country, their actions were futile.
In the end, the president of Alcaria begged Seven Stars to let them rejoin the United Nations Confederation, even if they had to pay an outrageous price to be accepted again.
On the very same day, nearly all the agents under Seven Stars arrived in Alcaria and did a major cleaning, destroying every gang and criminal group they could find and restoring peace in the country. After this incident, no country brought the issue of leaving the Confederation ever again.
It was also that time that Seven Stars made the last change in its system. The special force decided to start accepting verified missions issued by private customers. As long as you paid enough money, anything could be discussed.
In addition, because of the previous incident, Seven Stars stopped monitoring the countries for any criminal activities and left this job for individual countries themselves. If they wanted Seven Stars to do something, they had to issue a mission like everyone else.
This motion was quickly criticized by the Confederation but they couldn't do anything against it, else they would end up just like Alcaria Country. After a few years, the Seven Stars Special Forces became one of the largest and wealthiest organizations in the world.
