News about the comic! I believe I'm burned out on this comic in general. But instead of stopping cold-turkey, I'm going to change up how the story is told. Once chapter 1 officially is over (page 44)- I'm going to switch over. Story progression will happen much quicker, but will be less solid. With that said, here are some thoughts:
Passions of Xanxor originally began back in 2018, with the mindset of 'JUST CREATE'. Not much forethought was put into the plot, big cannon plot-twists had yet to be revealed (*cough* rose *cough*), and I am completely oblivious to romance so lord knows why I thought I could write about it. That being said, I've done a lot more brainstorming recently about where I would have liked the plot to go, now knowing the twists within the show, and I'm pretty pleased with what's come about.
It's simply taking too much time and effort for each individual page. I want so badly to sink my teeth into plots and twists and action, but I'm also aware that once I get to one of those points I'll get bored of it the 10th week or so drawing pages for it. I have so many other projects that need my attention as well, juggling this in the mix is unnecessary. And the last but most important point-- I wanted to use Xanxor to improve my art. Period. In some ways it has. The issue there is, with the weekly deadlines I'm too focused on quantity over quality and calling the pages 'good enough'. I want to be able to do smaller projects again. Something not as taxing as a colored/monochrome comic.
