Robert's P. O. V
We arrived at the hotel bistro which I reserved couple of days ago. I brought my mom Carmila Stevenson, the most special woman in my life right now. Being the only child am very close with my parents.
My dad "The Great Billionaire Philanthropist" and Hotel Guru Robert Gregory Stevenson met my mom when they were in college they both finished business management course with flying colors. They were married after three years they graduated. But it took them five years before I was born but unfortunately mom can no longer bear another child due to a rare ovarian disease.
My mom Carmila has her own trading company that she inherited from my grandfather. She is a figure of a fine lady and an epitome of beauty.
My father on the other hand, was a successful hotelier he expanded his empire all across the state even in Canada.
I enjoyed our wealth at a very young age but I was not raised as a brat. My parents made sure that discipline was instilled to me and I guess I inherited being a perfectionist and self driven to my dad and being creative and artistic to my mom. I enjoy the best of both worlds.
I know my dad has been preparing me to take over his corporations maybe this year next year or so who knows he'll just knock on my room and tell me "Hey son, go to the office and kick your ass."
What I love about them is that they let me play my music they let me do what I want they even supported me on some of my gigs whenever they are free.
The waiter then started serving the first course of our meal. I choose a 6 course meal for tonight since my mom is not a big eater. She is basically conscious on her weight and figure often concern of all women of her age.
"Here is your Rustic Tuscan Pepper Bruschetta." the waiter announced as he slid the plates infront of us.
I simply nod.
"Hmmm... this is so good.!" my mom exclaimed. We exchange our delighted smiles and continued finishing the plate.
Not long after the second course was presented, Sugar Butternut Soup it complimented the appetizer Buttermilk Shrimp Remoulade. I savour every sip of my soup clearing my spoon.
Still fascinated how good this chef can do.
My mom started sharing about how her trading company operates now. Her business do very well. It also does business with our hotel making it a win win to both of my parents. How the business world works.
"So son." what's keeping you busy now a days? Are you still dating this brunette girl you met in the business forum? What's her name again? "she inquired.
" Amanda, mom" I answered. "She's just a friend nothing serious you're still the most important woman in my life mom!" I squeaked.
"Stop that nonsense Robert.!. you are not getting any younger you should look for a wife.!" She sounded like an angry teasing tigress. "We cannot be here with you forever." she added.
"Alright mom" I raised my two hands as a sign I surrender I cannot argue with her about this. She was right I am still single and still doesn't want to commit. It's not that am afraid maybe I haven't seen the right woman for me after my last relationship three years ago.
We had a very good conversation.
"Time for the main course! Am excited." I murmured.
We had Steak with Tarragon Mushrooms.
The meat is so soft it melts in my mouth the flavors are well balanced everything in this plate is delicious. Even my mom is in awe about the meal.
I raised my hand calling the waiter's attention. and asked for wine refill and to inquire if the chef can see us here in our table. He nods and went back to the kitchen.
The waiter went back with the bottle of wine and the dessert...A beautiful lady was in his back approaching our table.
I know we hadn't a good interaction the last time I saw her so I let my mom speak her compliments and just stared and smiled at her.
"Are you the one who prepared this dishes for us tonight?" mom asked cheerfully leaving her with a sweet smile.
She briefly answered. "yes madam our pleasure to have you here at the bistro."
"You're so beautiful.... am Carmila my mom introduced herself. Am Robert's mom." offering her a hand shake
She nervously took mom's hand shake and uttered "Am Cathelyn mam pleased to meet you."
She doesn't looked at me not once. I scoffed, to get her attention. I met her eyes but she looked away immediately. "If you could excuse me please enjoy your dessert." she hurriedly said not giving me a chance to greet her.
Our dinner had ended. I drove mom back home....
It's been months since the last time I dined in the bistro knowing that the place is situated inside our competitor's hotel, I limit my visit even if I love their food.
Quite chilly outside I parked my car infront the bar am too early for my gig. I haven't eaten lunch. I locked my car and went to the bistro just across the street.
As usual, they welcomed me with a huge smile. Patricia, guided me personally to my table and called the waiter to take my orders. But before she left I asked. "Is Cathelyn around?"
"Mr. Stevenson, Chef Cathelyn is not anymore connected to the bistro she resigned 3 months ago." She stated.
I felt a bit sad. I will definitely miss her dishes... I said in the back of my mind.
I finished my meal then left the diner I went back to the bar across the street to prepare for my upcoming gig.
