Meanwhile, Seraphim begins to rampage above the kingdom of Oahantis. The resident merpeople all flee in terror as Seraphim’s massive body thrashes about, destroying buildings as he does. The guards from earlier are darting around the scene of chaos in an attempt to guide the fleeing citizens. A mother and daughter are fleeing when a giant piece of rubble suddenly begins falling towards them. The mother holds her daughter tight in anticipation of being crushed, but a guard shows up in the nick of time and catches the chunk of rubble. The mother and daughter smile at their hero, but their smiles turn to terror. Seraphim’s whale sized; open jaw was upon them ready to devour them whole. Just as he was about to eat the three citizens, a blast of green magic is shot into his right eye. Seraphim roars in pain and his attention is diverted to the direction of where the blast was fired. An enraged Seraphim sees with his still undamaged left eye Trace and Kali about thirty yards away, together holding a spear coated with Kali’s green aura.
“I always knew how to grab a man’s attention”, said Trace winking at the monster.
“I’m just glad your aim was as good as you said it was”, responded Kali. “It’s not exactly easy for us merpeople to make aura projectiles, it takes a lot of magic, so you had to make the shot count. You there guard! Get those citizens out of here!”
“Yes princess!” yelled the guard as he tossed aside the rubble.
“Thankyou princess!” yelled the mother and daughter as they fled the scene with the guard. Seraphim’s fierce gaze never leaves the two girls as he begins to swiftly swim toward them, appearing to attempt to ram them with his massive bulk. However, Kali is able to glide through the water while carrying Trace, dodging Seraphim by sliding past his body. Seraphim swings his massive body around to pursue the girls, but as he turns a wave of blue aura hits the area right below his left eye. This time it was Brine attempting to attack Seraphim’s other eye using his sword slash from earlier.
“What the heck was that?!” yelled a fleeing Trace to Brine.
“My apologies! I’ve missed my mark!” yelled Brine.
“Your mark is huge!” Trace yelled back. Brine prepares a rebuttal but before he can open his mouth, Seraphim’s jaw is about to envelop him. Just as Seraphim is about to close his jaws on Brine, a stream of water shoots at Brine and grabs him, pulling him away from danger as Seraphim’s pointed teeth gnaw together.
“Don’t let her mouth distract you Brine”, the stream of water reveals itself to be Zed blasting by using the Oasi Bratso.
“Heh”, Brine chuckled. “I’ll make sure not to next time.”
“Go give the girls some cover while I distract him. I’m sure he’d still love a piece of me somewhere in that rotten personality. We’re going to try and stick to the plan”, said Zed. Brine nods to Zed and swiftly glides in the direction of where the Trace and Kali are. “Hey there fin head! Come and get a taste!” Zed taunted Seraphim. Seraphim’s black gaze centered on Zed as he begins swimming aggressively toward him. Meanwhile, Brine catches up to the girls nearby.
“It was a valiant effort Brine”, said Kali.
“Ya, valiant or not you still missed”, interjected Trace. “The plan’s still unchanged. We blind the big fish, and then the boys go in to destroy the crown while he can’t attack them. Now get over her Brine!”
“Um, alright”, responded Brine nervously from just getting scolded by Trace. Brine cautiously floats towards the girls and Trace takes his hands and places them on their spear.
“Coat this with aura”, Trace said. “We already used Kali’s shot. We only got yours left so we have to make it count.”
“Alright!” responded Brine enthusiastically. “I’ll pour my very soul into this to repent for my past blunder!” Brine’s grasp on the trident tightens, his body pattern glows a bright blue as he coats a large amount of his aura around the spear. Trace aims the spear at a thrashing Seraphim who’s attempting to attack a zipping and dashing Zed. Seraphim bites and slashes his tail at Zed, but each time Zed is able to dodge using the Oasi Bratso. Zed looks over while dodging Seraphim’s attacks to see Trace taking aim at Seraphim. Zed smiles as he takes the hint. He stops dead in the water to face Seraphim. Seraphim sees this opportunity and swims directly at Zed, but this is what Zed wants him to do. Zed proothisi jets straight at the oncoming monster. He glides over Seraphim’s jaw to the side of his face, stops himself, and points the Oasi Bratso’s fist right at Seraphim’s cheek. The proothisi helixes point themselves at Seraphim and Zed unleashes a jet punch into his face. The impact from the doniseis rattle his skull as the momentum directs his left side to be facing the aiming Trace.
“Thanks for the clear shot”, said Trace. “Fire Brine!”
“Yes mam!” Brine yelled as he unleashes his aura at Seraphim. The blue aura of Brine pierces through the water magnificently until making contact with Seraphim’s left eye and exploding. Seraphim lets out another monstrous, aura filled roar from the pain of losing his other eye. Everyone must cover their ears from the extreme roar Seraphim was emitting.
“Alright Psy! It’s our turn!” yelled Zed through the roar. From the town, Psy rapidly swims upward toward his brother’s call. He reaches his brother and his aura begins to bubble from his body, preparing to attack. As if a by reaction Seraphim stops roaring and faces the Shima brothers, his body pattern quickly glows black,
“Oh no!” shouted Kali. “We may have blinded him, but he’s still gifted in seeing aura, and he’s attracted by Psy!” The brothers look on as Seraphim opens his mighty jaws, a black glow emanates from deep within himself. A black beam launches from his mouth, enveloping the brothers.
“Shimas!!!” yelled Trace, Kali and Brine. The beam continues to stream from Seraphim’s body as the brothers appear to be vaporized. The beam’s flow is suddenly slowed until it appears to be piling up on to itself. From that area the beam splits into two separate directions, and at that intersection floats Zed supporting his brother’s back as Psy stretches out his arms, his hands forming the shape of a spear. Psy’s aura flows up his arms to pierce and separate the black beam, leaving the brothers singed but unharmed. Psy yelled as he poured more and more of his aura from his body out, and as he did so his fingernails blackened and grew longer, and the skin on his hands greyed. This shape amplifies Psy’s ability to cut through Seraphim’s magic attack. Not noticing his brother’s physical change, Zed efforts the Oasi Bratso up to his brother’s pointed hands.
“Let’s finish this brother!” yelled Zed.
“Ya!” yelled Psy. The Oasi Bratso propels the brothers through the black beam, Psy’s aura cutting the beam as they did so.
“Do it Shimas!” encouraged Trace pumping her fist into the air. The brothers continue up the beam toward Seraphim until finally exiting to be right upon the crown’s jewel. Zed Grabs Psy’s hoodie and swings him around directly at the jewel. Psy reacts and slashes at the jewel with his sharp fingers, his purple aura cuts through an unseen barrier, shattering it. Zed follows right behind with the Oasi Bratso, revving up a punch. He punches the jewel in the crown, and it cracks and vibrates from the Oasi Bratso’s impact. Rays of black eject from the jewel’s growing cracks. The jewel can withstand no more and shatters into dust.
Black magic oozes like smoke out of Seraphim’s monstrous form as his body shrinks. Seraphim’s limbs regain their form as he continues to shrink to his original body. While everyone is distracted by Seraphim’s changing form, Psy looks down at his transformed hands as they also revert back to their original form. Seraphim’s body is battered and exhausted but he’s able to open one of his eyes to look straight at the Shima brothers. “Curse you… garbage humans…” Seraphim mutters. Trace, Brine and Kali float over to Zed and Psy.
“Seraphim”, said Kail with a stern expression. “For threatening the Kingdom of Oahantis, it is with my power as princess that I decree you are hereby exiled.” Seraphim’s one eye widens.
“You cannot… exile… me!” Seraphim exclaimed between exhausted breaths.
“I believe she just did”, said Trace smugly.
“You shut your… trash filled… mouth human!”, Seraphim continued to exclaim, and he attempts to float toward Trace but Zed gets in between them with his arms crossed.
“The only people that can insult Trace are me and Psy”, said Zed. “I don’t believe it’s my place to act upon a kingdom’s laws, but may I do the honors princess?” Kali looks at Zed with curiosity but then quickly understands and giggles.
“As princess, I grant Zed Shima to enforce Oahantis law, just this once”, said Kali.
“Thank you very much Princess”, said Zed as he pulls the Oasi Bratso behind himself. Seraphim sweats with concern.
“You can’t be serious princess!” yelled Seraphim. Kali smiles a gentle smile at Seraphim.
“Exiled”, she says. Zed punches Seraphim right in his gut with the Oasi Bratso, the proothisi jets send him flying toward the sky until he breaks the surface of the Great Oasis and he’s out of sight.
That night the young heroes have all congregated back at the castle where they enjoy a large and fantastic feast with the king, queen and the guards who helped protect the kingdom. Zed is stuffing himself, Psy quietly nibbles at what food is on his plate, and Trace politely declines any of the food that resembles a jellyfish or slug.
“Ahem!” king Mahail cleared his throat. “I propose a toast to our visitors who have also become heroes of Oahantis!”
“Hear! Hear!” the guards raised their goblets.
“Hurr! Hurr!” muffled Zed through a mouth full of food. Psy raised his goblet, as too did Trace while blushing.
“Tis a shame we have lost our kingdom’s treasure, the Trident of Pelagria”, said king Mahail.
“Yes, truly”, responded the queen. “but a price well paid for the safety of our citizens.”
“Ya, sohwwy bout dat”, Zed said with a mouth full. He then swallows and continues talking. “The thing kinda fused to his head there. I’m sorry we couldn’t save it.”
“No! No! No need for you to apologize Shimas!” said queen Athena. “If anything, we should be apologizing to you three for getting you all involved in our matters.”
“Please mention nothing of it your majesty”, said Trace waving her hand. “We’re happy we can help our friends.”
“Yes!” exclaimed the king. “Allow me to decree this while on the topic! We owe the Shima name a great debt for this! If a Shima or anyone associated ever needs the aid of Oahantis, we shall respond to the call!” The dining room erupts with applause and cheers at everyone’s agreement to the king’s decree.
“Well that’s greatly appreciated your kingliness!” said Zed. “Now let’s celebrate this friendship!” The dining hall continued to celebrate well into the night at the newly formed alliance.
The next morning after a night of festivities; Zed, Psy and Trace are guided to the border of the kingdom by Brine and princess Kali. Zed’s still using the Oasi Bratso as his right arm, while his original arm is wrapped around his back by kelp. Brine and Kali have given them a small amount of food to take with them on their continued journey. “If you head straight in that direction, you’ll reach those mountains you had seen earlier”, Brine said. “There’s a town built in the gap in the middle of them where it’s much easier to travel through.”
“Thank you for the directions and all of your hospitality”, said Trace.
“Thank you for everything you’ve done for our kingdom”, said Kali. She floats past Brine to be in front of Zed. “Thank you very much Zed Shima, for all your bravery.” Psy gives his brother a ‘what about me look’ but he shrugs it off seeing his brother blush from the compliment.
“D-don’t sweat it princess,” stuttered Zed. Kali giggles and looks into Zed’s eyes. She closes her eyes, leans in and give Zed a small kiss on the cheek.
“A princess’s kiss is known to have goodluck”, said Kali with a wink. Zed turns a bright red and is left stunned. Brine whistles impressed by Zed’s ability to get a kiss from the princess. Traces blushes just slightly and floats over to Zed and grabs him by his collar.
“Thank you, princess but we must be off”, said Trace as she swims off with Zed. Psy is quick to follow.
“Save travels”, Kali said as she waves goodbye to the ascending trio. Kali thought to herself as she watches them leave, “There’s truly something special about that Zed. Me and Seraphim are both gifted but my ‘sight’ is even stronger than his. Where Seraphim saw nothing, I can see but a faint glow. Zed’s going to become something great!” Looking through Kali’s vision we see a flustered Zed being dragged by Trace, his body without magic but a faint glow emanates from his hat.
Unknown to everyone, Seraphim had never left the Great Oasis. Far on the other end of the lake from where Zed, Psy and Trace were leaving; Seraphim’s unconscious body floats at the surface. Four cyber drones descend from the sky and observe him. The drones hover around Seraphim, taking images of his body. Robotic tentacles emerge from the drones’ body and wrap themselves around Seraphim’s limbs and torso. The drones lift his body out of the water and carry him away.
