I stood beside him waiting on him to tell me what to do but instead he just stood there looking at the ground. "Me: Hey, are you okay? If you don’t want to do this you don’t have to." I said while putting my hand calmly and reassuringly on his shoulder. He took my hand and shoved it off him like he was dying or something. "Ted: Please don’t do that. Let’s just get this over with." "Me: Well okay but how do we even start. I don’t know the first thing about flying." Ted looked me up and down with his hand on his chin deep in thought. "Ted: Maybe you could just point your powers downward and see if that works." I looked at him as if he was stupid but to the better of me I did it anyway to no effect. "Me: Okay android, aren’t you supposed to be some super intelligent creature?" "Ted: First, I am not an android or a creature but this is still out of my strong suit."
"Me: How do we even know if I can fly or not?" "Ted: Look at Lexi, even though you both have very different capabilities you both still have the same signature of you power. So i’m highly reluctant on the fact that if she can fly then you can." "Me: Okay then how do you fly. Maybe if you show me and tell me what you think about it then it might give me some insight on what I need to do. Actually in fact why don’t you just run those images through my head since they were able to unlock abilities for me before." He looked up at me with a hint of rage like I was calling him out on something he had no part of. "Ted: It’s not like I did that on purpose. When you came around my powers started to malfunction and I just decided to release it and see what happened. I didn’t even know what happened until you just told me. Now I feel awful."
He walked towards me embracing me in an brotherly hug. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know that he wanted to do more than that but I just ignored it. "Me: Hey I think that-." He started to mumble something releasing me. "Ted: Think… that’s it! He pulled away from me and grabbed me by my shoulders with a huge grin. "Ted: Jordan, when you are using your telekinesis what do you do." "Me: Well it works different with me. Like any other telekinetic they can just point at whatever they want to move and it moves. However they cannot make themselves fly. But even though with me I have to really think about what I want to pick up and how I want it to move." "Ted: Okay okay but you have to realize that you are not everyone else. What if you can fly the same way you lift things up into the air!"
"Me: I guess I never thought about it that way." "Ted: Exactly!" He said while tapping his head and backing away. "Ted: Well, what are you waiting for go on, give it a go." I created my usual powers but like before they still had that ball in them. I guess it was just going to be a regular thing now. I thought real hard repeating the words fly, fly, fly, fly in my head. Nothing worked. I looked down furious at the weak attempt and threw my hands to the ground one last time still telling myself to fly. I did just that. I shot up into the air losing control as I went upward sure I was going to die. "Me: AUGHHH!" Ted came rushing up but didn’t help. "Ted: Breath Jordan. Stop being afraid and own this power within you. Save yourself or die trying."
A sudden burst of courage busted through me and I released my hands from my side and started falling down. Instead of flailing around I waited until I was close enough to the ground and shot my hands down again but this time slowing down the decent cushioning the impact. "Me: I-i did it. I did it! I can fly! I started hovering above Ted flaunting a little bit." He stared at me with a grin on his face. I could tell that he was proud. "Me: Why do you look at me like that?" "Ted: Oh, I just think its cool how your powers look." "Me: He turned around rubbing his neck. How obvious could he be." I thought. "Ted: Anyway, um we should head back before sunrise. I’m pretty sure your new friends might be worried that we are gone." I think Blake does room checks and she knows we’re both gone. I thought. "Ted: Anyway, um we should head back before sunrise. I’m pretty sure your new friends might be worried that we are gone. I think Blake does room checks and she knows we’re both gone."
