Humanity was going good, in such a good way our technology became too advanced. Thanks to the cold war that created a competition to see which countries had the most advanced science. Making UCNA (United Countries of North America), USR (United Soviet Republics), SAU (South America Union) and EU (European Union) the new world powers between many other countries. We had no more Environmental problems, since all our technology was electric and most part of our electricity came from advanced spacial solar stations that could capture the sun’s light 3,000,000 times more than a common solar panel. A great progress… that unfortunately wasn’t meant to last. 

In December 1st 2023, a new type of super virus was found. It caused no harm, it had no symptoms. Many people say the virus was found because of luck, and I do agree with it. The new virus was found by Lie Huenli, a scientist and doctor that worked for the USR Health Organization (USRHO) by analyzing the wrong patient's blood for accident. It was found in 2023, but its name came from the year 2024 when it was classified as a new threat by the USR-HO and the World Heath Data, giving its name as Novaepestis-24th. But its popular name actually came out when it decided to show its full deadly potential. Let me explain… At first the virus was not very alarming, the USR-HO identified that it caused no harm but its contamination was crazy high. For pure ignorance I believe, they said that it was all OK and people shouldn't worry about the virus because even though you contaminate yourself with it was believed to be just another bacteria with no actual symptoms… even so, many others scientists doubted and it was classified as a super virus because of its high contamination ability. 

A month had passed, and half of Asia's population already had the virus without knowing it. Nothing more than another week was enough for the virus to spread at all continents in the world and also have the first many cases in my city. People decided to chill about it… But I wasn’t. I was nervous and knew that something was wrong. I started using some masks, though it had no research if the virus spread to air, touch or other ways, I made me feel calm. Everyone ignored the virus, but it would make them never to forget it. 

November 1st 2024, I remember this day as if it was yesterday, the TV had alarming news for the population. From less than 8 hours the virus had a super mutation and had killed 3 entire cities in the URS. Everyone was chocked, the virus now was a deadly disease, if you was infected you had almost no chance to live, and the death of whom got the virus was as fast as it had the ability to contaminate. You could be killed in less than 4 hours in fact, its death rate was 98% chance no age exceptions. But the virus continued to kill, and week by week another super genetic mutation was added. It was then that the virus got its popular name… The Blackout Plague. The name came because of the fact when you’re infected you loose your sight in less than 30 minutes, and after it you would die as fast and painful as you could imagine. 

In November 8th 2024, the URS-HO and the World Heath Data reported another super mutation, the people who got the virus would have its skin black, with stuck blood inside, the virus now contaminates from air to touch. 

In November 15th 2024, another report of super mutation happened, many people had died by this moment, and dead bodies could be found in dirty streets in cities. But now the dead infected corpses released a toxic gas that was after called with another mutation The Grave Call. The gas not only infected people with the disease but was highly toxic and radio active, making anyone that smells it die in less than 10 minutes. 

After a week, the last super mutation called the day November 22nd 2024. This last super mutation makes dead people to make some sort of noise, that when heard, its frequency made your ears bleed and your hear ability totally vanished. As well as some chance of you to be mad after a minute of exposition. 

And finally in November 29th 2024, the virus stopped mutating, as if someone had “programmed it to stop”, well at least I had believed but no one understood. See, I know you may think that I’m crazy but it is so unreal that from nowhere the virus simply stopped. I know there is many things to learn about this, and I’ll try everything to know the truth people believe me or not. Forgot to say, I wanted not to talk about this but the worse actually came after November 29th. 

Soon the virus stopped the mutation, the mess was already done. Protests, Anarchism, Chaos, Hunger and Thirst ruled over everywhere. It seemed as if Humans would prefer to be killed by now other than suffer in this chaotic world the Blackout Plague had created. Though it was then that something I would say, “Unsympathetic”, not a human initiative at all, craziness and genocide came as fast as a you could imagine. 

As if we haven’t suffer enough the government of United Soviet Republics had announced a group of people that had researched a new way to fight against death. In the past, this thought was craziness, but now it seemed true. They said:” What is death? Is it a phenomenon? Is it an environment change? No, death is something more, death is biology. But Death is also something that no humans can achieve to master, but we Humans have thoughts. We Humans use our brains because we’re brilliant, we challenge nature itself and master it to work in favor of us, through our unstoppable technology and science. But there is a way to finally be released for death, and all that keep us as fragile and submitted as Humans. That’s the evolution and that’s our future!” this very speech of death, still gets me the shivers! Don’t you? 

As crazy as it may sound, I think you did not get it yet, the speech was in fact a propaganda for USR newest way to survival. 

There was no vaccine for the Novaepestis-24th, and a cure for the virus didn’t seem to work out. You see, the virus is strangely resistant to all sorts of advanced medicine. Our society had completed in April 13rd 2022 the vaccine for cancer and many other diseases. We had no virus or bacteria to fear. But from nowhere a super virus appear, that is resistant to all sort of technology we have, this is really nonsense.

 In fact the proposal of URS is the newest technology on which promised the immortality for all men kind. The name of its procedure is mental transplantation. Basically, they Upload your mind in a computer, and after that they download your consciousness and memories in a high technological robot. Like this you’re 100% tech and no virus could kill you. This made me remember the old days we used to have smartphones and computers with 8GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. If I could dream we would have the technology to run a computer of 1ZB of RAM and 64YB of storage in a watch and make an entire robot, that’s definitely something. 

But that was craziness! I won’t them to take my Humanity away from me, I don’t have to say that after that speech many protests and communities were formed against the ideology of mental transplantation. These communities soon would be given a name, “Quarantines”. There, many people work together to research about the truth behind the Novaepestis-24th and others gather research to a new cure for it.

Today, April 5th 2025 I’m one of the lasts in Quarantines that still exists and weren’t destroyed by the virus, there is only me here. But I’m on search of a group that might accept my theories and help me find the truth. This is where my story begins.
