I met up with Jas, his schedule has become super busy with his night job, afternoon internship, and his classes so it’s refreshing to spend time with him.
“Another girl confessed to me today, I don’t see why people can’t just focus on getting their shit together. I’m not trying to love a Psycho”
He started off sounding more annoyed than ever.
“Ha-ha! Jas, you’re not interested in anything that won’t give you an advantage in life. I don’t know why you can’t just tell them that.”
I knew since girls started confessing to him in middle school that he had no interest in them, but he never gave them an honest answer why he wasn’t.
“Because then they’d try to make themselves useful to me and that’s more desperate.”
He said as a matter of fact. I couldn’t help but laugh at his reasoning.
“Bahahaha! Jas one day you’re going to meet a girl that you love, and you aren’t going to know what to do with her.”
He glared at me,
“I know what to do with a woman, I’m no stranger when it comes to them, I just have no interest in dating them. They’re clingy and cry too much.”
He walked from the kitchen to the sofa in his one-bedroom apartment. It was small but cozy. “Okay, okay Jas I’ll stop.”
I laughed because dating was always a subject that irritated him.
“Here’s your drink now move over I wanna watch a movie.”
He almost sat down on top of me after handing me a soda. I moved over just in time and the movie started. As the movie went on, I must’ve fallen asleep because I woke up in Jas’ bed and it was morning.
I can’t believe I passed out on Jas last night, he’s probably mad. He really wanted to watch that movie. I walked out of his bedroom and found my way to the kitchen. Jas was already at his stove making breakfast.
“Morning,”
I grumbled as I walked up behind my childhood best friend and wrapped my arms around his waist
“What’s for breakfast?”
He didn’t even flinch, but this was our friendship.
“Making your favorite obviously, coffee is already made. Help yourself.”
Jasper is seriously so talented; any girl would be lucky to have him. I wonder why he’s never dated. I guess I’ll attempt to bring it up.
“You’re the best, I don’t know what I’ll do if some kind of super woman snatches you up and takes you from me.”
He paused.
“Don’t worry. I don’t like dating anyway.”
Then went back to cooking. That pause told me it’s time to get off this topic, he was uncomfortable.
“Thank God because I might die without you. Anyway, what happened last night? I mean after I fell asleep?”
I headed over to the bar with my coffee and sat down. After I took a drink I looked up and saw that Jas was deep in thought.
