"Hey look! I got a training sword from papa!"

"Wow that's so amazing!"

"Can I try it? Can I try it?"

From a distance, a young lady heard their conversation as they delved into their own childish mirth. Even though they're her age, she thought. Her thin rosy lips gave a fond smile along with her delighted emerald irises. She then sat on the ground and proceeded to draw the scene that unfolds in front of her. Observing them, the surroundings, and other stuff. Because the only time she could get her head on the ground is when she's drawing. Usually her head would float in a random daydream.

The weather was rather nice but the young woman found it hard to enjoy. The ray of light of the mighty sun prickled her fair-skinned hand, which gave heat that she disliked. The wind lightly eases the temperature. Yet along the way, the breeze also played with her long dark hair, which leaves her hair tangled and it's difficult to unravel it. Not that she hated all of that, it's just slightly irritating for her.

Most likely though, the reason why she found this unpleasant was because the rain hasn't crossed this land for a while. She longed for the brisk air that roams around the weather and misses the comforting sound of the raindrops.

It's not that she could complain, there's always good in something that seems awful. Equivalent exchange they said, the law of nature. So, she tried to see the positivity and shook off the annoyance she felt, as always.

The only thing that was getting hard to ignore were the looks of her parents every time she went to her own beautiful world. Well it's not like they will understand the beauty of it, they are exceedingly different from her. They're very outspoken, while she's reserved. They were a realist, while she's an idealist. Sometimes, she wondered if they're really tied by blood, because of the seemingly many differences. The only thing they had in common was the tendency of using sentimentality in their daily life. But that sole thing is also why she thinks the family always argues, no one used their head enough. She's quite thankful that a lot of her friends were the opposite of that.

The reason why she hardly argued with anyone, including her parents, was because she holds a value to herself, without needing anyone's acknowledgement. When someone was opposing her ideals, she just let them think so without justifying herself. Because what was important to her is that she thinks is right and no one else matters. It might sound egoistic, but that's also the very reason she got along with everyone.

Back to the present, she looked over the skies, which were painted by the color of autumn. Realizing though she hates the hot weather, she loves the dusk which was created by it.

"Ethna Flaneur! it's time to go home" said the boy who was showing the sword, or should other say, her twin brother.

"Oh well, I am so pleased that his majesty didn't let this worldly treasure get into his head and instead remembered thine duty." She wittily replied.

"Fortunately, I'm not always in the clouds, I roam on the earth, grounded, unlike thou who usually fly away ignoring the flow of time although it's always running." He said, slowly forming a smirk. She's always left puzzled about her brother, he's childish yet exceptionally smart. After a few seconds, they burst laughing, inelegantly.

"Really, we should stop using 'thou' and 'thine' or something like that, I feel weird because it's a bit old isn't it?" Ethna said, between the gasp.

"See! You have a weird sense of time, it's still common you know? Besides it sounds cool!"

"Whatever you say," she giggled.

They then walked home, through the rice fields, roads, and the forest. Every time, her brother will help a person in need of help. She always liked seeing this, but at the same time it made her feel very different from him. She didn't have an initiative after all, even if she wanted to help, it's just not her.

Going home was getting difficult these days. Her parents always reprimand her about being far into fantasy, while she thinks that she already tried to stay in this world too, she helped people, she worked, and did stuff, all she wanted is the time alone, which when she has, her parents always interfered, always saying that the time could be used for something else, to socialize and train or just about everything. Lately, she felt exhausted, she needed to recharge that she's getting impatient.

She's still grateful for the time she has with her brother, even though it's always short, her brother would take a notice and take her out to daydream just like earlier, saying that he needs her help with an errand. But sometimes, it is not enough.

The final push is in today's dinner.

"You should give up on your dream of being a writer" her mother said.

"Why?" Even though her voice remained calm, her brother sensed a bit of anger in it.

"Because you won't survive at this rate! Being a successful writer is risky! It got to do with luck. Not to mention you refused to marry, if you want that you should at least work a steady job." Her father said, losing his cool too.

She knows that her parents mean well. Yet she couldn’t shake off the displeasure of giving up her dreams, her fantasy, and her world. Feeling a bit betrayed, it's shown through her face, which indicates her emotion. Before anything worse could happen, her brother changed the topic and she's very grateful for it.

When everyone's asleep, she wanted to slip of the forest nearby her house. She puts on her boots, her green hooded cloak and a tiny candle. She tiptoed silently, It has to be a success, after all it's one of the expertise she has, or so she thought.

"You know, if you need someone to talk to I'm here, no need to run away like that" her brother said, leaning in front of the door, the only way out of this house without being loud.

"I'm not, brother, I just wanted to collect my thoughts in the forest nearby, I'll be back before the sun rises." Said Ethna, hoping that he will let her pass.

"It's night, it's dangerous, shouldn't you know that a lady better off stay in the house this late?" he said. She bit her lips, knowing what he said was right.

"Please let me through, I need it," She's now in front of him, grabbing his shirt tightly as she pleaded. After a few moments of silence, she couldn’t bear seeing his brother refuse so she fixed her sight on the ground. She heard him sigh

"Don't let me regret this. I'll let you through only if you let me watch from a distance okay?" he said as he shuffled his dark short hair. With this Ethna launched at her brother.

They then set out to the forest. When they arrived, Ethna sat underneath the tree and drew while her brother leaned onto a tree not too far away.

Collecting her thoughts, she then determined to strive for her dream. It's not like everybody else matters, in making decisions about herself, what's needed is her sole feeling. That's all. And what makes them think that while she moves towards this dream, she couldn’t please other people. It may be a hard road, but she will herself go through it.

Afterall, the equivalent exchange they said.

"How nice it is to see a child hardening her resolve on her dreams, truly fascinating."

A voice of gold preached to her, it felt as if thousands of glimmering stars showered in this place. It is as light as a feather yet as deep as the ocean. Profoundly out of the world. Ethna turned around towards a big rock in the void of the forest, where no trees touched it.

She saw a heavenly woman sitting there, with floating platinum curly strands and deep sapphire eyes that seemed even more beautiful with its thick lashes. The ground was devoid of life, only old grasses stayed behind, yet when the charming lady's foot touched it, a floret bloomed, and turned into a bouquet of flowers. The Lady lets her lovely white dress sweep the plants, walking gracefully towards Ethna. While Ethna could not do anything except staying rooted in her place.

"Do thee ever wonder about the world beyond ordinary?"

The woman then placed her hand on Ethna's shoulder. It made Ethna shudder.

"As a reward of thine strong heart, I shalt take thou"

Abruptly, a strong gust of strong wind struck them. Ethna put her arms in front of her to shield herself while the woman took a step back and gave an enigmatic smile.

"Only thou can line the pieces up, thou who's not prisoner of time and the one who can make it move once more."

That was the last thing the lady said before the wind got harsher that Ethna couldn’t keep her eyes open for a long time. The lady began to shine, making the scenery white.
