Ekam's father is now dead. No funding help was received by the government and now Ekam's family belongs to the low-class people of the city. They will be treated like trash, in fact, lower than trash. Soon enough Ekam will witness the despair that many people go through every day in Rivel.
But he is persistent. After the government's ignorance, it would be super logical for Ekam to turn against her. His powers would be enough to get what he wants by force. It is obvious though that he would become the villain of the city afterward. He would be the one that killed all the politicians, all the arrogant high-class people, all the people that he considered worth killing. But is this really the solution?
10th September. One day before school. (Low-class children have access to free education like the other kids, even though they get bullied too often. The government did this to show to its people that equality exists, and everyone is able to educate himself. However, it is all fake. The government could not care less if poor children experience horrible things every day at school.) Sylvia is sleeping at her small room that she will soon lose. Ekam is looking outside the window thinking. Some minutes later a message arrives at Ekam's door. His mother picks it up and reads it. It is a friend of Ekam's from school. "Hey, pal! I recently heard that your father died and now you are a low-classer. I can't believe what happened. Please just do not tell anyone that we were hanging out in the past. If I learn that someone knows that we were once friends I will make sure to burn your whole family to death. Now have a nice day, and make sure to never cross my path ever again. Zeliot Iziniku" mother reads every line. She tears it apart and says "It's better that way. It's very easy to identify real and fake friends. Don't let them distract you Ekam."
Zeliot was hanging out with Ekam sometimes. He was a gentle child that had great manners, always speaking elegantly to Ekam's parents. But now, he is arrogant enough to say that he will burn them to death. He is allowing his cruel self come to the surface, only because he knows that nothing will happen to him. He can finally reveal his horrible full-of-trash personality.
Ekam was frustrated. He is not the type of person that would allow this discrimination to happen to his family. But he could not hurt other people, only because he is mentally weak to do that. He was not using his powers his whole life, and now the only solution that he is able to think of for saving his family is force.
Ekam closes the window and goes to his bed. Eva (his mother) could see that he was concerned. It is logical though, Eva herself could not hide her sadness as well. But she is a strong woman.
She knocks the door at Ekam's room, asking if she could come in. "What do you want... can't I have some privacy in this idiotic house?" says Ekam. Eva walks in, turns on the lights, and sits on the chair of the room. Right next to her, a small round table with an Ekam's picture on it. He is a newborn in that picture. She holds it tightly and looks at it. An emotional feeling of nostalgia penetrates her whole body as she sees her little boy smiling so beautifully. "We are all in this together, Ekam" Eva speaks. "Don't take everything on your shoulders. I and Sylvia are your family and we will never leave your side you hear me? Don't you dare put yourself into unnecessary pressure." she continues. Ekam does not react for a while. He gets off the bed and reaches the exit of the room. He opens the door and before he closes it, he says these exact lines: "What can you possibly do? Unfortunately, I am the only one here born as a monster. Now please, don't bother me again" He closes the door with great power and leaves.
"You really don't understand do you?" his mother's voice from inside the room interrupts his walking. "What are you planning Ekam? Do you plan on killing thousands of people to only save your own family? Are you really that weak?" Eva proceeds. "I just want to change this retarded discrimination what don't you understand mom? I don't care if these idiots die. They cause pain to people every single day, they deserve death and I finally found the courage to stop them. You say that I shouldn't use my powers to harm people but you are wrong. I need to save this country from scums like these" Ekam responds.
Eva opens the door. Tears go down her eyes. "Do you really want to be like them? Do you really want to cause pain as well? Wake up, son! Nothing works with force in this era. Do you think that you will accomplish something by rampaging around the capital killing people? It's the same thing with a guy shooting around everyone. Not only you will cause sadness to your heart, but many other families will be in despair as well. And even if you are somewhat like a god right now, someone will find a way to stop you in the end. You can't outnumber their numbers, and sooner or later they will be able to stop your rampage. You always forget Ekam. Your real power is not your destructive energy and godlike aura. Your real power is your soul, the power that matters is the ability to bring people by your side. To make them follow you and respect you. The power to be a leader, and prove that your way of doing things is the correct one. Use your abilities not to cause fear, but to make people trust you and follow your leadership. I think that it fits you more saving people than actually killing them. In other words, Ekam, don't be a villain, be a hero. I know that it will be hard to get their trust, but its the best way to accomplish your dream of a better future." she speaks.
Ekam remains silent for a couple of seconds. Suddenly, he turns around and looks into his mother's eyes. "But...how am I supposed to do that?" he asks. Eva hugs him and keeps him tight. "Work behind the scenes and grow a community. But too many low-class people will not do thanks to the rotten society. You somehow need to gather people from upper classes as well. I don't know how, but I am sure that you will find a way, my dear." she responds.
Ekam hugs her back.
"Thank you mom, I know what I need to do."
