Casey’s point of view

“Well, your plan is working out just fine, Isn’t it?” Ryan walked into my office after Lily had left.

I let out a sigh.

“You know this is the second day already.”

“I know, but it’s not like I can tell her to go away. Plus, I actually like her, this is the first time I actually made a friend that is not you.”

“Well, she won’t like you, once she notices that you like her friend.” Ryan sat down on one of the chairs in front of my desk.

“What?”

“Oh please, the first day you were basically drooling for the girl.”

Why can’t someone bury me six feet underground?

“Was it that noticeable?”

“What do you think?”

“That I need to throw myself out of the window right now.”

“So what are you going to do?” he looked at me expectantly.

What am I going to do? I have no idea.

“Ryan, is Michelle free from her work tomorrow?” he narrowed his eyebrows in confusion.

“Yeah...Why?”

“Can you ask her if she can come to the office tomorrow?”

“What? Why? Come on, answer me.”

“You will see tomorrow.”

“No, I am not doing that.” For the second time, Michelle rejected my plan.

“Come on, I just need you to fake flirt with me.”

“That is just cruel, you are going to crush this girl”s heart by flirting with me. I am still not doing it.”

Looking at the clock I saw that it was almost time that she came.

“I don’t want to hurt her but I can’t have her liking me in any way. Please.”

“Then, just tell her. I am sure that she will understand.” She crossed her arms and looked at me like a scolding mother.

“Any help to convince her would be appreciated.” I looked at Ryan who was standing by the door.

He just put his hands up to his sides,” Don’t look at me, she is her own person.”

“Come on, if she thinks I like someone else, she won’t get any ideas or illusions. I might even make a friend.” she let out a sigh.

“I will literally do anything for you.”

“Anything.” she raised her eyebrows and I looked at her suspiciously but I needed the help.

“Anything.” I repeated again.

“Fine, but remember your said anything, you can’t say no at all. Understand?’

I nodded.

“Okay, so what do I do?”

I shrugged

“I don’t know. Hello, hiding identity, can’t really date, never been in a relationship.” I moved my hand towards myself and moved it up and down.

“Well, I am out because they are coming.” Ryan left and before he fully disappeared he motioned towards the elevator that I could not see.

“What do I do?” I was panicking.

“Okay, Okay, I will just hug you and you return it, just follow my lead.” since I was taller than her she got on her tippy toes and started to hug me, and then I saw Lily walking with...Emma.

I made eye contact with her, and for a minute I thought I could see her become shocked before looking away.

Damn it, why now?

She looked back up again and we could only stare at each other, before she looked at Lily and her mouth started to move. She is perfect in every way, from her beautiful brown hair, to her smile. After snapping out of my thoughts I remember I was still hugging Michelle and Lily was coming our way.

“Oh, sorry. Am I interrupting?” She looked shocked but there was never a hint of sadness, she was acting normal.
