"Sorry... for yesterday. I really didn't mean to... to scare you last night." He said to me. In return I said "oh um... no worries Jay." He got closer to me. I never really noticed how beautiful his eyes are. They're a warm hazel. "Get y'all asses down here now! You don't want your mother to get the knife." Father shouted from the kitchen. Jason had released my arm from his strong grasp. He looked like he had something else to say.
I walked off downstairs to the kitchen for some breakfast. "What's wrong mom?" She looked up from the sink and turned to face me. Mom looked out of it, you could see the bruises on her arms. She shook her head and said "um... nothing sweetie, just eat your food." I sat at the table and putted some waffles and eggs on my plate. " Hurry up so you won't be late for school." I nod yes to my mom. "How do you feel?" Dad asked me. "Okay I guess." I replied. "Okay? Just okay? Are you ready for school?" Dad asked. " Yeah, I'm just tired." "Don't push her hun. You can obviously see that she has forgotten that today is her first day at her new school." Mom told dad. Dad gave her an ugly look.
Damn! Summer is officially over, and here I thought it was still July. Man, I have no sense of time. I turned around to get a look at the calendar. It's September 21st 2020. I'm so done with myself. See I thought it was still July because I stay my ass in doors, I am not a people person.
