Naruto jumped out of bed eagerly, "it's today!" He got dressed in his normal ninja attire and ran out the door without eating. He wove through the streets with a large smile, he wanted to reach the Hokage tower as soon as possible.

Team 3 watched the boy swerve around and grow closer to the group, "Naruto, what has got you in such a hurry," Shikamaru waved his friend down.

"I'm getting adopted today, I gotta get to the Hokage tower," he yelled, not stopping for a conversation.

"That was odd, but I'm glad he's getting something good," Choji watched his friend sprint past.

"I didn't know Naruto was an orphan," Ino said watching as he tripped over an uneven part of the road.

"Yeah, his parents died in the Kyuubi attack," Shikamaru turned and continued walking.

"Oh," Ino looked at the boy sadly then followed her team.

Naruto sprinted up the stairs and burst through the door to the Hokage's office. There stood Kakashi and Iruka with the Hokage sitting behind his desk. "Welcome Naruto," the Hokage took a puff of his pipe and smiled at the boy, "we were about to get all the paperwork signed if you want to take a seat," he motions to the chair in front of his desk and Naruto did as he was told, still bouncing with excitement. After everything was signed, the Hokage looked to the three in front of him, "so where will you be living?"

Kakashi looked at Iruka and Naruto and smiled, "I think Naruto's house, it wouldn't be fair to take him from his home."

Naruto's grin grew even more and looked at Iruka and hugged him. "Thank you so much!" He had tears begin to form but he pulled back, "I'm gonna go find Team 7," he waved and was about to leave when Kakashi stopped him.

"Take me with you, we have something to talk about as a team," he pecked Iruka's check through his mask and grabbed Naruto's shoulder. In a familiar flash of orange, the two where gone.

"He's growing to be more and more like his father," Sarutobi turned to the window and took a puff of his pipe. Iruka nodded then bowed and left.

Sasuke and Sakura were walking to the training grounds when Kakashi and Naruto flashed in front of them. "Hey," Naruto waved looking happier then he had ever been.

"Why do you look so happy, Dobe?" Sasuke's face the usual scowl but a small hint of curiosity as well.

"Well, Iruka-Sensei and Kakashi-sensei adopted me!" He put his hands behind his head and let out a small laugh.

"Wow," Sakura looked at the boy then Kakashi, "you mean Kakashi-Sensei and Iruka-Sensei are in a relationship?" Sakura looked beyond surprised and Kakashi laughed nervously and looked away, "you are!" She began bouncing and yelling in happiness.

"Okay, calm down," Kakashi tried to reign in the squealing girl, "I've got something for all of you," He pulled out folded papers and handed one to each of his genins, "these are for the Chunin exams, take them to your guardian and have them sign it and bring it back to me by tomorrow." Sakura and Sasuke nodded and left while Naruto stood looking at the paper. "What is it Naruto," Kakashi looked down at the boy with worry.

Naruto handed the paper to Kakashi, "I guess I give it to you then?"

Kakashi smiled and knelt down, he took the paper and signed it then looked at Naruto, "from now on, you never have to be alone. Iruka and I will always be there for you." Naruto hugged Kakashi, much to the man's surprise, but after a moment he hugged back. "Alright, go have fun with some friends, Iruka and I will be moving into your house." He waved as Naruto ran into the village with a large grin on his face. He caught up with Sakura and Sasuke, "do you wanna go get ramen with me?"

"I'm going to train," Sasuke walked away with his hands in his pockets.

"Well, do you want to go on a date with me?" Naruto blushed and looked away from the girl.

"No, you idiot," Sakura hit his head. She began to walk away when a box trotted up behind Naruto.

They both looked back, then Naruto smiled at sakura. He walked a few steps and stopped, then again, then ran and stopped. "You know that rocks aren't perfectly square right?"

Pink, Blue, and Yellow plumes of smoke blew the box off and exposed three young children. After their coughing fit finished they jumped up and struck poses one by one introducing themselves before yelling, "and we are the Konohamaru Squad!"

"Hey there Konohamaru," Naruto waved and smiled, still static about this morning's events.

"Why are you so happy," the small boy looked at Naruto then at Sakura, who was confused by the events in front of her, "Naruto-nichan, Is that your girlfriend?"

"What, no I'm not," Sakura yelled at the boy, "Naruto what did you tell him?"

"It wasn't me! He thought of that himself," Naruto covered his head, trying to not get a beating.

"Don't hit Naruto-Nichan!" Konohamaru splayed out in front of the cowering boy. "Ugly bitch," he added.

Sakura looked at the boy, ready to explode, "what did you call me," she stood straight and pulled her fist back.

Realizing what was going to happen, Konohamaru screamed and ran away. Sakura yelled at the boy, chasing him down the street. Naruto got to his feet and followed, "Sakura-chan, he's just a kid!" They all stopped when Konohamaru fell on the ground rubbing his face.

"Hey kid," He looked up to see a boy with purple face markings and a black onesie looking at him with disgust. "That hurt dumbass." He picked him up to face level, "now what to do with you."

"Kankuro, if you get caught by the scary one it's not my fault." The blonde girl crossed her arms and looked away sighing.

"It's just a little fun," he started squeezing the boy's neck with a smile.

"Let him go," Naruto started gripping his hands tighter, "before you get hurt." He started boiling with rage.

"And what, you'll hurt me?" Kankuro smiled at the blonde not taking him seriously.

"No," Naruto's eyes turned red, "I'll kill you."

Kankuro's eyes narrowed, "those eyes," he thought, "I thought this guy looked weird." He dropped Konohamaru, "Okay Fox," he spoke, "don't want you going crazy."

Naruto bristles at the name, "don't call me Fox, unless you want to meet Konoha's Kyuubi." He straightened with a wild grin.

Kankuro stepped back and reached for the item on his back. "You're going to use crow?" The woman behind him was shocked by his movements.

Sakura hid the children behind her as a rock flew from out of view and hit Kankuro's hand that was reaching for Crow. "I don't think you want to do that," the disembodied voice of Sasuke sounded." Kankuro looked at the tree beside him to spot Sasuke sitting on a branch, "you've already made him angry as is, any more and you'll end up splattered on the ground."

Kankuro pulled his hand back and glared at Sasuke, "what is it with you pricks and deciding to act all high and mighty? You annoy me."

"Kankuro," a monotone voice sounded from beside Sasuke, "stop fooling around."

"Naruto," the Kyuubi moved in the mindscape, "Iet me out for a moment."

Naruto created a Kagebushin and grew the attention of everyone around, they watched as bones cracked and skin shifted to form a small Kyuubi, "Ichibi, is that you?"

The redhead's eyes widened, "what?"

"Excuse me," Kyuubi cleared his throat and sat on the ground, "I am the Kyuubi no Yoko, I am bound inside the Kit over there," Naruto glared at his nickname. "And I can tell that you are the container of my brother, The Ichibi," he pointed to the boy.

"Correct, but he can't come out as you can," the container eyes the Fox with caution, "he says hello though."

"Yes, hello," Kyuubi waved dismissively, "now down it business, if you or your container tries to hurt the kit or anyone he knows," he cackled and looked to Naruto, "we'll kill you."

"He says fine, and we agree as well, by the way, I'm Sabaku no Gaara not container," signaling to his teammates, "Kankuro, Temari, let's leave." He looked at Naruto, "I'll see you in the exams." He used his sand to travel to the ground and walked away with his other members.
