Kyuubi's form was recalled and Naruto's eyes returned to normal while looking at Konohamaru, "are you okay Konohamaru-chan?" He knelt and checked him for scratches.
"I'm okay Naruto-nichan," he pushed his hands away, "you looked scary, nichan." Konohamaru stood a little away from Naruto.
He stood up and took a step back, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," he looked at the ground, "I was just worried was all."
Konohamaru teared up and ran at Naruto, hugging him he yelled, "Thankyou Naruto-nichan!"
The other two children ran at Naruto as well, "Leader!"
"Alright alright, if you're okay you should go play, I promise to play with you some other time." Naruto patted their backs and smiled.
"Okay, bye Leader!" they all waved and ran into town talking about how cool their leader was.
The three teammates looked at each other before Sakura spoke up, "who were those kids?"
"The one with the long scarf is Konohamaru Sarutobi-chan, the girl is Moegi Kazamatsuri and the boy is Udon Ise," Naruto smiled while he thought of the three kids, "they like to play with me, they are the only kids that to in fact." Naruto watched as Moegi punched Konohamaru before they rounded a corner. "She reminds me of someone," he thought as Sakura popped into his mind. "Well I need to go, Iruka and Kakashi are moving into my house and I wanna see how they are doing!"
"How about we go with you," Sakura looked at Sasuke, "we've never been to your house before and we should know in case of an emergency." Sasuke shrugged and landed beside his teammates.
Naruto smiled and lead the way, "you probably will be a little uncomfortable on the way there," Naruto looked away bashful, "I live in the redlight district."
Sakura looked shocked and spoke worriedly, "why would you live there?"
"When I was able to leave the orphanage I wanted to live on my own, but no one would give me a job," he turned down an alley, not noticing he was taking one of his hidden routes. It had always been a habit to sneak around the villagers, now his teammates were looking around confused. "If I can't work I can't have a place of my own, but Jiji agreed to pay for my apartment until I was a genin making my own wages." He jumped over a fence, the villagers had put this up when they discovered this route, they thought they had stopped him, but instead, it just helped make them think he wasn't there. The other two dropped behind him and continued following, "of course if I was going to be paying for it the apartment would need to be inexpensive so I could afford it." He climbed up a ladder that took him over his apartment's roof, "so this is the one Jiji recommended," he jumped down to the door and waited for his teammates before he entered. "I'm home," Naruto called, "I've always wanted to do that!" he looked back excitedly.
"Welcome home!" Iruka came down the hall and gave Naruto a hug, he looked up and saw his other students, "Sakura, Sasuke, you too? It's so good to see you!" He gave each of them a hug before moving so everyone could enter. "Kakashi and I are almost done unpacking. Naruto, we noticed that someone entered the house while you were gone." He looked sadly at his now son, "the fridge was empty and your room was ransacked, we restocked the fridge but we didn't know if you would be okay with us in your room."
"Thank you Iruka-Sensei, I wouldn't have minded, this is your house as well!" Naruto took off his shoes and looked in the fridge, sure enough, everything inside it was different than before.
"You can call me something else Naruto-chan," Iruka patted Naruto's head then began walking down the hallway, "think about it, I'm sure you'll find something comfortable to call me." He disappeared to Naruto's extra room and they heard Kakashi's voice begin to echo from the room.
"Well, this is the apartment," Naruto gestured to the main area, "it's not much, but it is comfortable." He watched the two take off their shoes and look around.
"You know Naruto if you want we could help fix your room," Sakura wrung her hands together while looking at the living room.
"You're my guests, you shouldn't have to help me clean my room." Naruto pulled out a cup and filled it with water, "anything to drink?" he held the cup out to his friends.
"No thanks, and really it won't be a bother if you're comfortable with it." Sakura looked to the blonde and smiled.
"Well, okay," Naruto set his cup on the counter and walked to the hallway, his room was the first door on the left, right across from the bathroom. "This one's mine," he opened the door, besides the small number of items he owned, his room was relatively barren- if you didn't include the trash and spray paint all over his room. The mattress was slashed and his blankets nowhere to be found, his clothes all on the ground and looked to have been urinated on, and his window had a small hole where someone had thrown a rock in an attempt to smash it. "Well, it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be," he began picking up trash and throwing it in his trashcan, as the others looked at the destruction with shock.
"Naruto," he stopped to look at his teammates, "does this happen often," Sakura stepped into the room looking to be on the verge of tears, Sasuke following with a look of rage.
"Every so often yeah," Naruto resumed picking up the trash, "it's not too bad though, I am the Kyuubi after all." He picked up his alarm clock, it was a gift from Jiji because he was always late for things when he was younger, he sighed and threw it away as well.
Sakura walked to his bed and began stuffing the cotton back into its mattress, "if I can put all the cotton back I will sew the holes up."
Sasuke walked over to one of the walls, "where are your cleaning supplies, I'll start with the walls," Naruto directed him to the sink in the kitchen showing hin the supplies underneath, he had grown accustomed to cleaning up after the visits from the villagers.
He had special supplies for every mess imaginable, he grabbed another trash bag and soap for his clothes. Together, the room was finished in a half an hour, "I'm sorry you had to see all of that, Naruto had comeback from switching his clothes from the washer to dryer, "why don't you stay for dinner, it is the least I can do for you both." Naruto gestured to his table with a sad smile.
"Sure, do you want any help?" Sasuke looked at the boy once he sat down.
"No it's fine, I'll be back, I'm going to ask what Iruka and Kakashi want to eat." Naruto shot down the hallway to his other room. "Wow, this room looks great!" Naruto entered the room and was bewildered from the transformation. Before there was only an empty nightstand and bedframe, the rest that was currently inside had been brought by Kakashi and Iruka.
"Ah, Naruto-kun," Kakashi looked at the boy, "how was your room?"
Naruto frowned, " it was pretty messy," he perked back up, "but Sakura-cha and Sasuke-kun helped me clean it."
"Good, I'm glad it wasn't too bad," Iruka Finished breaking down the last box.
"By the way, I invited both of them to dinner with us," Naruto held the door open for them to enter the hall, "so what do we want to eat?"
"Hm, I don't know," Iruka stood contemplative, "Kakashi?"
"Anything," Kakashi said with a smile.
"You were no help," Naruto sighed, "I'll ask the others.
While Naruto was talking with the men down the hall, Sakura and Sasuke had discussed the state of Naruto's room, and the odd path they took to get to his apartment. "I mean, it's sad that he had to adapt to this life," Sakura looked at the table.
"He's done very well all things considered," Sasuke Looked around the room. "It also seems very empty in the house," the boy stopped on an image on the coffee table in the living room. He looked closer and saw it was the team photo they took together, it was to only thing that looked like Naruto's in the barren room.
Their Sensei's and Naruto walked down the hall, Naruto looking defeated, "so what do you two want to eat? These two were no help," Naruto glared at the men behind them.
"Well if we are celebrating," Sakura put her hand to her chin thinking, "how about we all get some ramen!"
She watched as Naruto's face grew a huge smile and he turned to Iruka, "you're treating us!" Naruto then ran to the door, slipping his sandals on waiting for the others to follow before Iruka could fight. Kakashi looked at his lover as the children ran to the door, smirked, and did the same. Naruto grabbed Sakura, who grabbed Sasuke, who grabbed Kakashi. They teleported to the symbol Naruto had left on the bottom of a stool in the small restaurant. Luckily, Nauto's apartment was only a few blocks away and Iruka got there a few minutes later.
When everyone was served, Naruto paused, "I thought about what I would call you, since you adopted me." Naruto looked to the men sitting beside him, "I was thinking Oyaji," he looked at Kakashi, "and Touchan," he looked to Iruka.
They both sat in silence, then Iruka broke, "thank you Naruto-kun," he hugged the boy and Kakashi did the same. They finished the embrace and began eating, still shocked by the speed in which Kakashi eats.
