"BANG!"
Aira squealed causing Kodan to slam the brakes.
"W -what happened?" Kodan breathing heavily as he stammered out, starting to get exhausted as his adrenaline rush was wearing off. He was planning to run for it the moment they got into trouble but since the car had free and an extra box in the back (which went unnoticed by Kaiser and Aira), they could probably make it some where "safe". While they were in the U.S., other countries might not have taken the brute force of the impact of the planet, Pluto. Some places could still be completely unaffected.
"Caiser, don't wake him up, " Aira whispered. "He definitely needs the sleep since he was on night watch last night.
They pulled out the sleeping bags and made sure he was comfortable before fixing their sleeping bags up for themselves. Caiser and Aira were sleeping on the seats while Kodan had been moved into the back of the car so as to not disturb his sleep. Caiser was on night watch this time and he was also driving them out of the city. Every noise made them wary of their location. The night left the city vulnerable to echoing noises and it was even quieter than in the day when there was sounds of at least some scare animals left. Although their car was the loudest, they knew somewhere , lurking in the shadows was the sniper man. He could jump out at any given moment, scaring the crap out of them.
The ride was silent, making it sort of awkward for Caiser although Aira and Kodan were supposedly asleep. He turned the volume low & tuned the radio. Most of it was static since radio stations were dead. He kept on thing and tuning until the truth dawned upon him, this world was close to dying. Human population in most countries were probably as low as 50 people per area, maybe even less.
Would humans even survive? Would everything return back to normal & I could be featured in an I survived book? Would someone pop Out of nowhere & say psyche, the world isn't dead....while pulling off VR goggles?
A/N: I know the last two sound absolutely absurd but it could happen. *shrugs*
As shadows came into view, Caiser slammed on the brakes, snapping out of his daze as he saw a huge pile of rubble blocking the road. Kodan rolled and the car's trunk as Aira woke up with a start, gasping.
"Guys, we sort of have a problem. . . , " Caiser said in a quiet voice.
