Lara’s POV
It was truly unintended! My stupid silly legs which more likely to attack each other were really cruel to send me to an embarrassing moment. They did not even want me to move in harmony and the right one has decided to smack the left one in purpose.
My whole body struggled to keep the balance even though I got the kitchen counter as a stabilizer. I close my eyes and hope to just let it go. A couple bruises may paint my skin and I have to take a deep breath before I crush on to the floor. That is when I miss calculated everything. Instead of free flying towards the floor, I am so close to Kyle’s body.
I could feel his hands on my arms to slow me down, so I wouldn’t hit my face to his puffed chest too hard. He pulls me closer to his body as I am losing my mind. His heavy breathing chest just an inch away from my face and the butterflies in my stomach are sending a thousand of sparks as he moves his hand slowly on to my waist.
Our bodies are pinned together and my chest is pressed against his upper stomach. I put my chin up and try to look at his face. For the very first time, I get a real close up look on his beautiful eyes. His hazel eyes are shifted into greyish blue under the dim light. Sinking down into this unfamiliar lake, I find it hard to breath.
Kyle’s trembling fingers are so foreign on my body. My chest is moving up and down rapidly, synchronizing with his. Our bodies pressed even tighter every time we try to catch a breath. His naughty eyes are noticing the lumps on my upper body, and I love it. My hands are trapped on my sides while his hands are exploring the curves of my waist.
In this very moment. I really think that he is actually going to give me a kiss. A real one. The one where we find our lips swollen real bad after.
“Lara.” He whispers as he leans in.
When he moves his hands to cup my face, I immediately place my awkward hands on his hips. He swipes me up right off my feet and I feel that my head is spinning. I hold my breath right away as I feel his nose touches mine.
Keith’s POV
Keaton is already asleep when I start singing his favorite lullaby. I keep my singing as I tip toeing to exit his room. My ears could hear Kennedy’s talking to Katherine as I shut Keaton’s door. I pop my head to take a peek, and I find the two of them is having a very sleepy conversation. Both of their eyes are half opened and the words that come out of their mouths are no longer forming a right sentence.
“Let’s go to bed, Snow White.” I whisper to sleepy Katherine.
Katherine raises her hands up as I take her into my arms.
“Goodnight, Kenny!” I whisper to sleepy Kennedy.
“Goodnight!” She mumbles under her purple velvet blanket.
I carry Kat back to her room then tuck her under the blanket. She is trying to fully open her heavy eyes but fails.
“Goodnight, Keith!” She is closing her eyes again but keeps the smile.
“Night, Snow!” I kiss her on the forehead.
I was ready to take a shelter in my room, but then I realized that if the kids are up here and my dad is not in his room, he must be downstairs. The last time I check, Red is still here. She offered to clean up the kitchen. Is she really still here? I walk myself to the stairs on my toes and extend my ears before I decide to actually go down.
IT IS TOO QUIET!
Shouldn’t they be talking or something? They can’t be making a move, right?! I know that Red is hot but my dad is not into redheads. I mean, I’ve never seen him with a ginger before. Besides, she is not slutty! At all.
I hold my breath then proceed downstairs. I pop out my head to check on them halfway. Well. Well. You have got to be kidding me! My dad is pinning Red on the kitchen counter. Poor girl. He is practically on his way to suck her face. I have to do something because Red does not deserve him.
“DAD!!!” I scream from the top of my lungs.
My body is shaking right now! I wait ten seconds before continue my journey downstairs. When I am totally off the stairs, the two have been separated. Red has been retreating from my dad’s body while my dad is stoned on the spot. It looks like that Red has declined every possibilities to make a move on my dad. Great!
Red catches my eyes but immediately look down to her feet. I curse myself for not being able to give her a smile.
“What?” My dad closes his eyes in annoyance.
“Why is she still in here?” I show my back to Red.
What was I really trying to say is 'You should not be in here alone with my dad, Red.'
“Keith!” My dad scolds me.
“Sorry.” Red’s sweet voice gets in my nerves. “I was just helping your dad clean the table.”
When our eyes meet again, she looks uneasy with her hands cross over her upper stomach. She offers me the sweetest smile that I have ever seen in my whole life, but my hideous manner can’t produce a nice feedback.
“I think I better go.” She continues on being timid.
“Lara…” My dad calls out her name in such a disgusting way.
“Thank you for the dinner.” She is starting to walk out of the kitchen.
My dad follows her like a puppy, and I am just standing here, saying goodbye to her on my own. When she finally turns her back on me, I feel so empty. Though my eyes still can see her perfect figure stopping in the doorway to say goodbye to my dad, I just can’t move my stupid legs to go to her.
“I'm sorry.” I could hear my dad’s apologize.
“It’s okay.” She kindly shrugs her shoulders.
“Goodnight, Kyle!” She says to my dad and darts her eyes back to me.
“Goodnight, Lara!” Dad says.
