BZZT! BZZT!
I looked down at my phone and noticed a message from Keyz flashing on the screen.
"I wonder what he wants at this hour," I flipped open my phone to check.
'Hey, beautiful. Still at work. What r up to?'
He's so silly.
'I am lying in bed in my pjs watching reruns of Law and Order.'
BZZT!
'What kind of pjs?'
He is such a perv; I laugh at myself.
'A white shirt and shorts.'
"I bet he texts something dirty next," I began to blush.
BZZT!
'Send me a pic! 😉'
"I knew it!" I giggled as I sat up in bed and tried to snap a sexy photo for him.
A few seconds go by without any more text messages from him. "Maybe I shouldn't have sent the pic?" I begin to panic as I await a reply from him.
BZZT! BZZT! BZZT!
'Sorry, I nearly dropped my phone!’
'I didn't think that you would actually send it!'
'Can I come over after work?'
My heart skipped a beat, "What on Earth is he thinking?"
'Of course. Ur always welcome at our house!'
BZZT!
'K'
I got off of my bed ready to change clothes when another message comes through.
BZZT!
'And don’t think about changing clothes either!!'
"How did he know?" I blushed.
"Darling, I have to run to the office right quick!" my mom hollered from downstairs.
"Okay, mom! What time will you be back?" I called after her.
"It will probably be an hour or so," she replied as she closed the front door behind her.
"Great. Now we will be here alone," I sighed, "Maybe he won’t get off of work till after she gets home."
Wrapping a robe around me, I head downstairs to get something to eat. I hope mom bought some more of those cherry pastries. I searched the entire kitchen for them but to no avail.
"It figures that she would forget the one thing that I asked her to get," I pouted as I stared at the empty cabinet.
"Looking for these?" a voice sounded from behind me as a box of cherry-filled pastries popped into my line of sight.
Quickly turning around, I saw Keyz standing there with a huge grin on his face.
"H-how did you get in?!" I stuttered.
"Your mom gave me a key last year, remember?" he set the box down on the counter.
"R-right. Right." I sighed as I opened the box, "I thought you didn’t get off till 11?"
"Well," he grinned as he took a pastry from my hand, "After seeing that pic, I had to rush over."
"Won't you get fired for leaving work so early?" I grabbed the box and headed back upstairs.
"Are you forgetting that the owner is my cousin?" he followed me back to my room.
"Oh, right you are," I hopped onto my bed while devouring the pastries.
"What's with the robe?" he frowned as he sat down beside me.
"Are you disappointed?" I flashed him a devilish grin.
"You're such a tease!" he laughed as he tackled me to the floor.
We laughed as he pinned my hands to the ground above my head. It has been a while since we played around like this. With his job, school, and sick grandmother, he doesn’t get much time to spend with me anymore.
"Okay! Okay! I give up!" I wriggled under him as he tickled me.
"You're so beautiful," he whispered through the huffs.
I stared at him as I began to flush at his suggestive smile, "Don’t be so weird, Keyz."
My heart began to pound as his face leaned in close to mine. Was he really gonna kiss me? I stayed frozen as his lips gently pressed up against mine. They were soft and warm.
"Kris?" I muttered between kisses.
"There you go again calling me by my name," he smiled down at me.
"What's wrong with calling you by your name?" I gulped.
"It turns me on," he kissed me again but this time it was hard and deep.
We began kissing more deeply not allowing either one to catch our breath. I didn’t want it to stop, but I also thought about our friendship and what this would do to it, so I forcefully pushed him off of me.
"What's wrong?" he panted with a confused look on his face.
"N-nothing, but I just—" I paused for a moment, "I don’t want to ruin our friendship."
"Friendship?" he looked at me puzzled, "If I can't have you as a girlfriend, then I would rather have you as my best friend. That will never change."
"Okay," I smiled as I sat up.
"I probably should be heading home," he stood up, "I don’t want your mom getting the wrong idea."
"Right. You know how wild her imagination is," I laughed as I followed him to the front door.
"Thanks for letting me get a taste," he smiled as he opened the door to leave.
"Dude! You don’t have to keep bringing that up," I blushed as I playfully pushed him out of the door.
"Just one more kiss?" he begged.
"Fine, then you go home," I giggled as I leaned up for a kiss.
His soft lips reached mine once again as he held it as long as he could before I pushed him away once more.
"Now, get going," I laughed.
"Okay," he grinned as he began to walk off, "See you at school tomorrow!"
"Yeah. Goodnight," I waved to him.
My heart started racing as I closed the door and leaned up against it.
I can’t believe that just happened. Maybe my mom was right.
******
I sat in class staring at him next to me as he was focusing on the pop quiz that the teacher sprung on us as soon as class started.
I wonder if he is still thinking about last night? I scribbled on my quiz paper.
"Time's up," the teacher announced, "Everybody, pass your quiz papers up to the front."
Crap! I didn't even do one question!
"Hurry up!" the student in front of me snarled at me to pass up my paper.
"S-sorry," I quickly hand it up to him.
"You didn't even do one question?" Keyz asked me as I leaned back in my chair.
"Not a one," I laughed.
"What's got you lost in fantasy?" he smiled at me.
"I think you know the answer to that," I pouted.
"You're still thinking about that kiss, huh?" he blushed.
"Oh my God! You're actually blushing," I giggled as he tried to hide his face.
"Well, if you haven't stopped me I would have—" he paused as he noticed Jess staring him down.
"Would have what?" she stared at us grinning from ear to ear, "Rolled around with her in her pig pen?"
"Do you always have to be—" I was cut off from my comeback by Keyz giving an even better one.
"I would have made love to her all night," he grinned at her.
My whole body flushed in an instant as he remained as cool as a cucumber.
"What?!" Jess's eyes grew wide with shock as she nearly had a heart attack from his confession, "Y-you're just kidding right?!"
I sat there saying nothing as he took over the conversation.
"Like hell, I'm kidding," he replied.
"Don't be stupid, Kris," she stuttered, "You two are just friends after all."
"How do you know that we're not friends with benefits?" he leaned back while flashing me a devilish grin.
"F-friends with benefits?!" she choked nearly falling out of her seat.
I sat there like an idiot; red as a boiled lobster until the bell sounded saving me from my own horror show.
"Okay, class. Don’t forget your first test is tomorrow," the teacher announced as the class packed up to leave the room.
"A test!" I snapped back to reality, "It's just the second day!"
"Geez, this lady just doesn't quit," he sighs as he stands up to leave.
"I will just forget about what you just said, "Jess smiled at him as she handed him a note, "Call me later. 'Kay?"
He looked down at the note as she skipped out of the room. I turned to him just as he balled up the note and drop it on the floor. I smiled softly to myself as I gathered my stuff.
"Meet ya after lunch," he tapped my shoulder.
"Sure," I followed him out of the classroom.
