Kiss Me
Omegaverse
Matt
Part Thirteen
Suffering from mild concussion from what Simon said was a kick to the head. Bruises dotted all over his beautiful body and nasty gash up his thigh and ripped muscles in his arm. Simon thought it best that Zeke was kept under sedation for several days. Also with his mental state possibly unstable, it was decided to keep him under until he was a little stronger physically. Everything had been too much for Zeke’s already compromised system. His heat. The beating. Everything just piled up.
I was still in pain, but I was moving around. Back at Lincoln's place, with Zeke safe in bed I had to keep myself busy or I'd have a mental breakdown. Dan and Lincoln along with Lincoln's father got Malcolm thrown into jail. The charges topped anything I could have imagined. He was never getting out and with any luck he'd die in there, soon I hoped. "Matt, sit down and take a breather," Simon said, appearing in the kitchen. "Zeke is fine. He's safe and I'll wake him soon, so don't worry."
I snorted. "Do you realize how badly I want to cuddle up with my guy?"
"I do, yes and you will, soon enough. There is no one to take him from you again."
"I know….its just, I feel so damn worthless."
"Well don't. You did all you could do in that kind of situation. You're lucky to be alive."
"Because of you Simon. You saved my life."
"Silly, I did what I had to do and not just for you, but for Zeke and Lincoln."
I smiled and folded my arms across my chest. "Oh yeah, Lincoln. You two, huh?"
"Stop it."
Oh god. He'd gone bright red. I was in pain but not enough to pull his chain a little. "So you caught his heart. How did you do it?"
"If you don't stop Matt I'll euthanize you, like the big annoying dog you are."
"Oh come on Simon. When Lincoln is in the room you go all goo goo eyes."
"I don't do that. Anyway I have things I need to get back to so shut up and rest. Lincoln will be back soon."
"I know. With food. You not gonna stay and at least eat with us?"
"Another time, sorry. I have emergencies I need to attend."
"Fine, go. But come back soon."
"I have to, remember?" He pointed upward. "I need to see Zeke. So, I'm off and I'll be back possibly later tonight. Say hi to Lincoln for me." I snorted again as he left. I bet they sneak off just to kiss. All kissy faces and weird. With that I poured some water and went to the only place in the house I wanted to be. I took two steps at time, huffing as I got to the top of the stairs. Fuck my side is agonising, this needs to heal faster.
Finally in the room I made my way over to the bed and started shifting on to the edge of it until I was up by Zeke's side. I stroked my fingers softly along his jaw. His beautiful jaw. Beautiful face. Then my hand found itself in his soft hair. "You're so brave baby. I can't wait for you to wake up. I'm going to spoil you rotten and not just with love," I spoke to him hoping he'd maybe hear me. They say people in comas hear when their loved ones talk to them, so maybe Zeke can hear me just being under sedation. "I'm right here waiting for you to open those gorgeous eyes of yours. I love you. I love you so much and I'll love you forever and ever." Damn, I felt my eyes swell. I just wanted Zeke to talk to me, even just a hello would do. I hate missing his voice, but Simon is right. He's safe and back with me.
"Hey Mr all soppy," I looked up to see Lincoln leaning against the door frame, arms folded baring a big ass grin. "I just saw Simon. He told me you've been sulking."
"I bet you were all kissy faces."
"What?"
"What?"
"Are you barmy? Get up and come down stairs. I bought food."
I frowned and shook my head. "Don't want to move."
Lincoln chuckled. "You wanna picnic up here then? I also have wine."
"But then that wouldn't be fair to Zeke."
"Don't be a douche. He'll pig out on food when he's awake."
"Ugh, fine. I'll come down but only for a little bit."
"Good. I'm going to pour you a drink." And he left.
I turned back to Zeke and rested my head on his warm chest. A heartbeat. Steady. Calm. "I'll be back up as soon as possible baby. I love you." I stood, leaned over and kissed his lips softly. Then headed out of the room and back down stairs, wincing every now and then.
"Stop being a bitch."
"I got shot. Shot Lincoln."
"I know, but you're still here in one piece. Now drink this because you look like you need it and eat up."
"You have no soul."
He laughed and pushed the large glass of red my way. Okay so it looked fucking good. "See, it's not so bad. Drink and eat. Simon will be back later."
"I know. I'm just worried."
"About what?"
"What if Zeke freaks out. Like panics and doesn't want me near him. Trauma can do that to people you know."
"There's no way he'll not want you near him."
"But what if…."
"No...nope, stop with that what if. That guy is head over heels for you, fated or not. Now just have a bit of time for yourself. You need it."
"I like your change, Lincoln. You're all soft and gooey now."
"Well I like being soft and gooey." I smiled and took in some of my wine. Before I even came to England to see Lincoln I almost didn't. I thought it was just hassle. But it had been a long time since we had seen each other. I knew I had to go. Now look at us. Both are different from before. We both had someone, although Lincoln and Simon are still being all coy about their relationship. I guess people do things differently. I had Zeke. Although it felt like so long ago when I first saw him, I mean slammed into him. It wasn't, but it felt like it. Like I'd known him my whole life. That day is a day I'd never forget for as long as I live.
God, those dark almond shaped eyes full of determination and stubbornness. "Lincoln."
"Huh, what?" He said, digging around his food for the bits he didn't like.
"I'm going to marry Zeke and have loads of kids."
"Loads, really?"
"Yep. Six, I think."
"Six?"
"Yep. Be nice if it would be three of each, but yeah. Six."
"Why six?"
"Even number."
He laughed. Asshole. "Two is even and four. That's less. Six is a lot."
"I don't care. I'll ask Zeke when he's awake and I bet you he'll say yes to six."
"How much are we betting?"
"I didn't mean an actual bet, but if that's what you want. I bet you your Bentley he says yes to six."
"My Bentley?" He asked, rubbing at his chin. "Fine. You got a bet."
"Sweet. I like that damn car."
"And if he says no, what do I get?"
"Your Bentley."
"Whatever you retard. Eat up. Fill that annoying mouth of yours." I couldn’t contain my laugh. And I noticed Lincoln giggling too, and I turned to smile at him.
I quickly wrapped my hand around the back of his neck and pressed my forehead carefully against his. He looked shocked briefly, then he relaxed and put his hand on the back of my neck. "Lincoln. You've been my best friend ever since I can remember. I love you like a brother. Thank you. Thank you for everything."
"I love you to Matt," he choked a little. "God we really are sappy."
"Yep, so sappy." Then I let go and watched him drain his glass of wine. I think, maybe if Zeke doesn't mind, now that Malcolm has gone. That he'd live with me in England. It may be full of bad memories, but we would make so many good ones, so many they would outweigh the bad and I'd like to do more here. With Simon and Lincoln. Possibly open a place for all the other Omega's. Hire therapists to help them recover, give them a place they can go to. I want to do all of that and more, with Zeke at my side. One big family. I'd really like that and I know Zeke will too.
Kiss Me
When Simon got back later that night and Zeke was finally taken off sedation, I was sitting beside our bed, waiting for him to wake up. I’d barely left him since he’d been put under, and I knew I looked a wreck, needing a shower, clean clothes and a thorough shave. All that could wait though. I wasn't going to shower or do anything just in case I missed the moment he'd open his eyes. "Hey, baby. You can wake up now." I didn't get a response in words, but what I did get was a small squeeze from his hand. My heart rate skittered and I already wanted to wrap him up in my arms, but I had to wait.
"He'll come around very soon. Don't worry."
"He moved his hand."
Simon smiled. "See, very soon. Just wait." Then he left the room. I sat on the opposite side of the bed from his injured arm and lightly stroked the fingers of his IV hand. After a while, I picked up the remote and turned the TV on, making sure to quickly mute it in order to let Zeke rouse carefully and quietly. I must have dozed off for a little while because I came awake to the sound of zeke’s groggy voice asking me if I was okay.
I shot up, unsure for a moment. Then I lost it and I started to cry. "Matt…"
My lip quivered. "I’m just sorry I couldn't help you. I was so fucking stupid. I should have never laid a hand on him…" I felt my jaw tighten and my eyes prickle at the thought of him at the mercy of Malcolm while I was still stuck in a bed out cold. Zeke’s hand came up to rest on my chest. "I thought you'd be so scared. After everything. I thought maybe you'd be scared of me."
"Hey," he said softly. "I could never be scared of you, you know that, right?" When I didn’t respond, he used his bandaged arm to touch my cheek. I automatically grabbed his fingers so he wouldn’t move his arm too much, because I could tell every move hurt him.
I pressed a kiss against his forehead. I couldn’t deny that hearing him tell me he hadn’t been afraid of me helped ease that last sting of unease in my belly. "Fuck, Zeke, I love you so much. So damn much," I said with a shake of my head right before I softly kissed him again. He let out a soft sob and then was pushing into my arms. I held him while carefully maneuvering us until we were lying down again.
"We're both here, Matt." He whispered.
Then I had to ask him. I wasn't sure if it was the right time, but couldn't hold it in. "Live with me…."
"Yes," he whispered, cutting in.
"No, I mean in England," I paused to sit up so I could see his reactions. "Like live here and set up places for all the other Omega's. Safe places for them. Places they can go and be safe and warm."
He smiled. "I'd like that."
"Really?"
"Yeah," he tried to nod but I caught it and held him still. "A friend of mine died. I'd like a charity in her name. For her family. She was taken away from her mate and she died because of it."
"Oh god."
"Her mother was left alone without a daughter and now I know it was all Malcolm's fault."
"We'll do that baby. We'll do anything we can. For all of them."
"Thank you."
Simon was back again, to administer some pain meds. "This will take the edge off, then I want you up and eating as soon as you can."
"I will. We have a lot to talk about Simon. A lot of changes to make." Zeke said calmly.
"I know and we will do it all together. Soon."
I cut in and turned the TV up. "Sorry. A rerun of star trek."
"You're going out with an idiot." Zeke was smiling and trying to look past Simon to watch TV. "God, you're both idiots. I'm going." Then Simon paused by the door and calmly said, "Damn it, Jim, I’m a doctor, not a magician."
Zeke and I both started laughing at the famous line and then Simon was gone. Zeke settled back against my chest and searched out the remote. "Who knew Simon was a star trek fan."
"That's too funny. Oh, I was thinking. When we have babies, can we have six?"
"Six? Why six?"
Well this sounded way too familiar. I could almost hear Lincoln's voice in my head. "Because it's an even number." Please don't say two and four are as well.
"Huh, makes sense. Six it is…."
"Yes!" I shouted as I jumped from the bed. "Eat it and weep Lincoln! I got the Bentley!!!"
"Fuck you!" I heard him call out.
"I'm not even going to ask." Zeke said around a smile. God he's beautiful. And my beautiful guy is giving me six babies, eventually and a Bentley. What a wonderful turn of events after everything. As they say, you survived the storm to see the sun and Zeke was my sun.
