It was 7:50 when I showed up outside the cinema and now that I was there, I was nervous, my hand was aching, and my heart was racing.
Stupid, I shouldn’t have gone.
So, I turned around and ran home before Daemon could see me.
That’s what I wish I could tell you, but before I could turn around and run as fast as I could I heard it,
“Wow, I thought for sure after I made you feel so uncomfortable today that you would stand me up, you sure are an amazing woman Little Miss Barbarian.” He was chuckling as he walked up behind me.
I hate when how he’s always in the direction I want to run off to.
“Oh, I only came to tell you I have other plans so I can’t stay long. I’ll be taking my leave n—”
he wrapped his arm around my shoulder,
“If that were the case you wouldn’t have come. Let’s go, I’ll buy all the snacks and drinks”
Is my weakness so easy to figure out?!
“Deal! What movie are we watching?!” I was excited about all the snacks that I wanted to get and the popcorn.
He laid his head on top of mine while we walked.
“A horror. Hope that’s not a problem?”
I realized exactly how we looked right now, and I could already feel my face warming up. I pushed him off me,
“I don’t care, just get off me. You’re so weird! Hanging all over someone out in public that you barely know!”
I can’t handle how open this man is, my heart might explode.
“Haha! Sorry, I’ll keep my hands to myself”
He’s having way too much fun teasing me.
After leaving the concession stand, I noticed Daemon looking at me in complete disbelief, both our arms filled with popcorn, drinks, and snacks.
“So, uh how much did you say you weighed again...?” he bluntly asked me.
“Don’t toy with me!” I snapped back at him,
“Then where do you plan on putting this food after it enters your mouth?”
his question was sarcastic.
“In my stomach of course!” I smiled back at him,
“Wow, how beautiful!” he looked shocked at me,
“I’ve never seen you smile like that before, it’s so pure. Like you’ve never been hurt before.”
What he said to me was kind of weird,
“What do you mean -Like you’ve never been hurt before-?”
“Well I mean, like nobody has broken your heart... I guess.”
He sounded a little awkward saying this.
Oh, I guess that made sense, I’ve never had a broken heart.
“Because I haven’t. I grew up with my dad and his colleagues, being surrounded by men kind of make it hard to have a boyfriend plus my best friend would never let a guy with bad intentions anywhere near me! I’m pretty protected, and my studies matter more to me than anything.”
I always forget that I grew up in a different lifestyle than most.
“Oh, I see. Your best friend must really care about you.”
He had a gentle smile that didn’t reach his eyes when he said that.
“NO! He’s a selfish playboy who only cares about his next piece of ass!”
I’m still mad at Japer but I probably shouldn’t have said all that,
“Oh, so your best friend is guy. That’s—”
I cut him off,
“The movie is starting, let’s watch it.”
As we watched the movie we didn’t speak, and I was surprised that I didn’t spend time worrying about my argument with Jasper either. The movie was actually really interesting and spending time with Daemon was nice.
After the movie we started walking towards the dorms,
“I can’t believe you ate all of that food! You must have a great metabolism to stay so small and eat nothing but junk.”
We were laughing as we walked,
“I work out and exercise, so I don’t have to watch what I eat, I mean I love food way too much to give it up.”
It was nice spending time and getting to know somebody new. I was always surrounded by familiar people that I thought meeting new people would be troublesome, but it was great.
“Mind if I walk you back to your dorm?”
his smooth voice was very polite.
“Uh sure that’s fine.”
