“Mind if I walk you back to your dorm?”

His smooth voice was very polite.

“Uh sure that’s fine.”

I found it harder and harder to say no to that face. We continued to talk and walk around; it was obvious we weren’t heading back to the dorms right away, but it was nice.

“So, what are your plans for break next week?”

Daemon broke the silence.

“I’ll be joining my best friend and the group we used to hang out with in High School for a night out and then we’ll head out on a trip the following day. What about you?”

“I’ll head to my family’s vacation home and relax. Maybe I’ll get to see you before your trip though?”

he bent down so our eyes met with each other. Suddenly the entire mood around us changed and my face started heating up again,

“Uh sure, if we both have time. I’d l-like that.”

He turned and stopped in front of me, our eyes locked together. He took a small step closer to me and started leaning down. This was it; it was really happening. He was going to kiss me, and I stood frozen. I’d never done this before and I didn’t know what to do next, I started to panic and I’m sure by now my face what brighter than a tomato.

The closer he got the louder my heart pounded,

“It’s late, where’s your dorm?”

His voice was low,

“huh?”

I was confused, I thought he was trying to kiss me. So, why was he asking me that? He smiled and his voice was back to normal,

“Let me take you home. Or were you expecting something else?”

He had a cheeky grin on his face, but I was mortified, how embarrassing! I thought he was actually going to kiss me, and what’s worse, I was going to let him! My face was red with embarrassment and a little bit of anger.

How dare he toy with me like this?!

“No! I wasn’t expecting anything, and I can get home just fine on my own!”

“Now, now, don’t be like that. I’ll stop teasing you. So, let me take you home as an apology.”

He was laughing as he said this. He was having fun making fun of me, the last thing I wanted to stand here and take this.

“No. Thanks. I don’t need an escort I can get home on my own.”

I started to walk away from him. Then, I felt a strong warm hand grab my wrist. When I turned around to tell him to let me go, I lost all the edge. His bright gold eyes looked sincere and his face was full of remorse.

“Please. Let me walk you home. I’m sorry I took it so far, it’s just my personality. Plus, every time I see you get so frustrated, I want to see how far I can take it before you lose it.”

He stepped closer to me and slid his hand from my wrist to my hand,

“I’m sorry Kairi, I’ll stop teasing you. Really.”

Looking at him I saw desperation in his face, and I found myself not wanting to deny his help, but I couldn’t tell him that so, I reluctantly agreed, and we headed to my dorm. He didn’t let go of my hand and I didn’t try to pull it away.

We stopped in front of my door,

“Well this is my stop, thanks for walking me home.”

I felt a little nervous having a guy stand in front of my door.

“Well I wouldn’t have felt right letting you walk by yourself, but obviously I don’t want something for nothing.”

He leaned up against the wall and crossed his arms smirking at me. I knew it was coming, typical guy.

“What do you want?”

I couldn’t hide the annoyance in my voice even if I tried. He looked at me with pure innocence in his eyes,

“You’ve never said my name in front of me, you’ve always called me “hey” or “hey you” so could you just say my name, just once?”

Say his name? What the heck kind of payment was that? I guess he could’ve asked for worse things, I shouldn’t complain.

“What’s so great about me saying your name?”

I still couldn’t wrap my head around such an odd request. He took a step closer to me,

“Just wanna hear it, that’s all. You don’t have to though.”

His voice gets me every time.

“Daemon.”

I avoided his eyes when I spoke his name, for some reason it was even more embarrassing saying it to him. He put his hand on my chin and made me look him in the eye,

“Look me in the eyes when you say it.”

His voice sounded low, and rich. Stupid. I should’ve opened my door walked in and closed the door in front of him. Maybe then, things would’ve different.

“D-daemon…”

I felt extremely nervous and he came closer to me.

“Um Daemon?”

He got even closer, his eyes looked like he really wanted something, our faces were inches apart.

“D-daemon…?”

“Can I?”

His hands were on the back of my neck.

“What?”

I didn’t know what to do at this moment.

“Kiss you. Can I?”
