The file "Riley Walter" was deleted from the system.
A clacking sound of keyboard was heard and I tried to overwrite an old data about me to a new one. It was hard but I don't want this life where they—... I mean my family following me around. I wanted a fresh start. This was it.
The file "Riley Byrd" was created.
"Through the winds and the rain, she stands hard as a stone..." I sang, not caring who heard me. I closed my phone and continue to walk around freely. I'm not talented in hacking but what I did just now was my ability. Who would've thought that I would gain an ability convenient enough to cut off the ties with my family. My little brother who was smart enough to place himself in a boarding school and my big sister whom already married to a rich guy. I felt suffocated but here...
Outside of the house felt calm and relaxing. My stomach growled at the smell of a popcorn I recently opened. I'm starving and tried to conserve my money, so here I am. With a small bag of popcorn and a bottle of water strapped on my slender waist, I relished the fact of my wasted life.
"Bad kitty!" I scolded the cat that jumped onto my lap. The black cat tried to get my food. "No, you can't silly. This is my food for the day." I lifted him up and set him on the ground. Yup, it's a he. The same cat whom I met during my free time.
"Now, here's my chance to do this." I opened my phone, a screen popped up showing a large insignia of the school I'm aiming for. After a few more clicks the screen turned black.
"It's time," I grinned evilly to myself, earning a suspicious looks from the visitor of this stupid park. I threw popcorn into my mouth and green words appeared on the screen. It rapidly changing but my eyes glued to it as it had no problem keeping up with the pace. I scanned from left to right as I concentrated. Then the words came to a stop and I typed my name.
The words disappeared and a new screen took place. An archive appeared at the centre and clicked on the one that said student records.
Riley Byrd.
My name was finally on the list. Well, I can't sign up to school because I need my parents signature. Not to mention, I can't register my ability too. I didn't know what happen to people like me. I'm reckless, sure but that didn't mean i'm stupid enough to do that.
In that student records, there were more. They were all labeled differently from 7th to 9th grades. But, there was one single file said online school with a few students inside. I scrolled down as it showed their pictures, but there's a student with a red label.
Toru Niles
I scanned his file and found a lot of details. What makes it a lot was that the said boy is currently a registered Stray.
"Interesting." Suddenly I had an idea. I wanted to meet him.
