Nichole awakened to Deivian dashing out of the room. She yelled his name, but he didn't seem to hear her as the door shut behind him.
Maybe he didn't hear me, she pouted.
Getting dressed, she headed to her first class on the opposite side of the campus. Her best friends were standing there waiting for her, as this was the only course they had together.
“Hey, guys. Have you spoken to Dei today?” Nichole asked as they entered the room.
“No,“ Melony sat down.
“I usually don't run into him till my third class,” Melody told her.
“Oh,” Nichole sighed, “It's just that he seemed to ignore me this morning.”
“Ignoring you?” Melony asked.
“Yea,” she pulled out her phone, “We usually get up at the same time. He left earlier than usual this morning.”
Melony turned to her and frowned, “That's ridiculous. It could have been a ton of reasons why he had to get up early.”
“I guess you're right,” she replied, “Do you guys have his number?”
“Why? Has he not given it to you yet?” Melody took out her phone.
“N-nevermind! If he wanted me to have it, then he would've given it to me,” Nichole stuttered as she turned off her phone.
“And you might want to clear it with Tish too,” Melony added, “She might freak knowing you have his number, too.”
“That's true,” Nichole sighed.
The bell sounded as the students left the classrooms and headed to the cafeteria. Nichole paused when she noticed Deivian walking across the yard.
“Hey, Dei?!” she called out to him, but he ignored her.
“Maybe he didn't hear you?” Melody tried to comfort her.
“Just talk to him when y'all get back to the room later,” Melody told her as they went into the cafeteria. Nichole left the cafeteria and headed towards the dorm.
“Where are you going?” the twins called out to her.
Nichole walked into the room hoping to find Deivian there.
“Maybe I should just wait for him to come to me,” she closed the door and sat down on her bed, “If there is something wrong, I do want to know about it. Maybe I did something wrong?”
Suddenly, the door opened, and he walked in. Noticing her sitting on her bed, he turned to leave the room.
“Wait!” she ran over to him, “Why are you leaving?”
“I forgot something in the locker room,” he walked away from her.
“Why are you avoiding me?” she sniffed as tears began to fill her eyes.
“I'm not avoiding, you,” he bit his lip, “I'm just busy.”
“Oh… okay. I'm sorry for holding you up” she whispered as she closed the door between them.
“I'm sorry, Nik,” he whispered.
She fell to her knees against the door, “He is avoiding me.”
It has been a few weeks since Deivian started avoiding her. He was never in the room with her for more than five minutes before making up an excuse to leave. Today was the day, however, that she was finally going to put an end to it.
“Hey, Deivian,” she called out to him as he was leaving the room, “Can I speak to you for a minute?”
He stood in the doorway as he turned towards her, “What is it? I have to get to practice.”
Walking over to him she took a deep breath and spoke, “Are you going to avoid me forever?”
“I don't know what you're talking about?” he replied as he turned back toward the door.
She reached out and grabbed his shirt, “W-Wait a sec!”
“What is it?” he grunted.
“Is it something I did?” she pushed.
He pushed her hand off his shirt as he started to walk out the door. Nichole wasn't going to let him just walk away from her like nothing is going on. She may be petite, but she is far from a pushover.
“Tell me!” she pushed him into the wall.
The door slammed shut as he was forced back. A sudden shock spread across his face as he stared at her. Nichole paused for a moment as she realized what she had just done.
“I-I'm sorry,” she muttered, “I d-didn't—”
“It's fine,” he turned and opened the door, “I have to get to practice.”
She yelled after him as he walked away from her, “Why won't you talk to me?!”
Nichole sat face down at the picnic tables outside of the cafeteria as the twins stuffed their faces with pizza bites.
“Maybe he is just giving you some space to cool off,” Melody told her.
“Yeah. I mean he is still dating Tisha,” Melony added, “Maybe he doesn't want to hurt either of you.”
“I guess so,” Nichole whined, “but I thought that we were doing great. I mean not sexually, but we were getting along.”
“I think he is starting to like you is why he backed off,” Melody declared as she patted Nichole on the back.
“Why would that make him back off?” Nichole sat up.
Melony shook her head and sighed, “Nikki. Listen. He is falling for you, but he is already with someone. Got it?”
Nichole looked at her and then at Melody, “You're kidding.”
“If you don't believe me, then ask him yourself,” Melody told her as she stood up.
Melony stood up as well, “And here's your chance.”
Nichole looked behind herself to see Deivian walking towards them, “Don't leave me, guys!”
“Catch ya later,” they laughed as they carried their trays back into the building.
Nichole quickly gathered her stuff and stood up to leave. She turned around and bumped into Deivian.
“Sorry,” she apologized as she turned to walk away from him.
“Nichole, wait,” he grabbed her arm.
Her heart started pounding as she remained faced away from him, “Y-yeah.”
“We need to talk,” he told her.
She turned around and forced a smile, “O-okay. I will see you tonight.”
He let go of her and she ran off into the cafeteria. Nichole had finally caught up with the twins during the last class of the day.
“Thanks, guys for abandoning me like that!” she shouted at them.
“We did not abandon you,” Melody laughed.
“Well, I guess you finally get your wish,” Nichole pouted.
“What are you talking about?” Melony asked.
“He wants to have a chat tonight,” Nichole sulked.
“That's a good thing, right?” Melody reminded her.
“No!” Nichole flopped down in her desk, “What if he does actually confess his feelings?”
“Then accept them, girl!” Melony told her as she sat down on the desk next to her.
“I will not!” Nichole slammed her hand down on the desk.
Everyone in the classroom turned and looked at her.
“Sorry!” she waved her hands.
“Attention upfront,” the professor shouted as she walked into the room.
“I will not do that to Tisha,” Nichole whispered to them.
“That includes you too, Waters,” the professor called out to her.
Nichole looked at the professor for a few moments then left the classroom to go to the bathroom. The professor stopped her for a two-minute scolding on getting your business done before class begins. Nichole walked down the empty hallway towards the restrooms at the end. She stopped in front of the door as she heard footsteps come up behind her. Turning around, she saw Deivian standing behind her.
She gasped, “Geez! You scared the crap out of me!”
“Come with me,” he grabbed her hand and led her into the boys' restroom.
“But this is the boys' bathroom,” she told him as they went in anyway.
He pulled her into the last stall and locked it. He put the top of the toilet seat down as he sat on it.
“We couldn't just talk later,” she crossed her arms, “Like in the dorm room.”
“Just listen,” he grabbed her hand and pulled her to him, “I know you think that I have been avoiding you.”
“No kidding,” she pouted.
“I'm sorry, but I needed to give myself some space,” he explained.
“Really?” she sighed, “You could've just told me that.”
“As if you would've given me the time,” he laughed.
“I would have,” she punched him lightly on the arm.
“Truth is,” he paused.
“It's okay. You can tell me,” she smiled.
He looked around and then quickly stood up, “You just don't understand.”
“Then help me to,” she demanded.
“I just—” he took a deep breath, ”I want to kiss you, again.”
Nichole stared at him as she was at a loss for words.
“Dei—” she muttered.
She was cut off by his sudden kiss. He pressed hard against her lips as he wrapped his arms tight around her small frame. They stumbled across the stall until they bumped against the door.
“I-I want you so bad!” he moaned as he pinned her arms up on the wall.
“W-Wait,” she gasped between kisses, “Can we just—“
“Just kiss me, Nik,” he whispered between kisses.
She ignored him as she freed her hands pushing him back a little, “Dei?”
He took a step back and raised his hands in the air, “I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you.”
She smiled, “You didn't hurt me. You just…surprised me.”
“You're killing me, Nik,” he smiled.
They sat there for a few seconds in silence. She wanted to feel him on her again but was too afraid to say it. She didn't want to push it further as he was still dating her best friend.
“If you want to switch rooms now then—” he was cut off by her kiss.
“Kiss me again,” she whispered.
“What?” he replied barely hearing her request.
“Kiss me,” she whispered again as she ran her hands under his shirt around to his back.
He leaned over and kissed her gently, “I want to do more than just kiss you.”
“L-like what?” she murmured.
Her heart started pounding as he bent down and slid her panties down her legs. Pulling them off he tucked them in his back pocket. He ran his lips and hands up her legs as he inhaled her sweet scent. It was her first time and she was terrified.
“Are you okay?” he whispered in her ear.
“Y-yeah,” she bit her lip as her grip tightened on his shoulders.
“Just focus on me,” he whispered through the kisses.
“O-okay,” she gasped.
“You feel so good,” he moaned in her ear.
“I-I'm glad you're enjoying this,” she panted.
He was about to start when she grabbed ahold of arms in fear.
“D-Dei?! Wait for a second!” she gasped.
“What's wrong?” he huffed.
“I-I can't do this!!” she panted.
“What?” he sighed in disbelief.
“I'm sorry, Dei. I have to get back to class,” she told him as she unlocked the stall and ran out of the bathroom.
“Wait, Nik?!” he yelled.
She quickly hurried back to class and snuck in without the teacher noticing. Fidgeting in her desk as she realized that she forgot her panties. It didn't help the fact that she was wearing a skirt which made her sit bare on the chair.
“Girl, are you okay?” Melody whispered to her.
“I forgot my—” Nichole's face turned red, “I don't have any underwear on. This is so uncomfortable.”
“What are you talking about? Where are they?” Melody replied as she looked around the room.
“I left them in the bathroom with Dei?” Nichole sighed.
“With Dei?!” she shouted.
The entire class turned and looked at them as the professor furrowed his brow in frustration.
“Please leave my class girls. I am in no mood for this foolishness,” he sighed.
“Sorry,” they mumbled leaving the room.
Out in the hallway, Melody confronted her, “What are your undies doing with him?”
“Well…” Nichole laughed awkwardly.
“Did y'all do anything in the bathroom?” Melody added, “That's not the most romantic place, but—”
“N-no we didn't,” she hung her head in defeat, “I ran away.”
Melody laughed, “You ran away?”
Nichole grabbed her bag and stood up to leave, “You don't have to laugh, but I couldn't do it.”
“Well, at least you tried,” she giggled, “But wait… Isn't he still dating Tisha?”
“No,” a voice replied from behind them.
They turned around to see Deivian walking towards them.
Nichole blushed beet red, “H-hey.”
“How's it going, Dei?” Melody grinned watching the interaction between the two.
“Good,” he smiled, “You forgot these.”
He held up her tiny blue striped underwear.
“Ack! Don't flash them around!” Nichole blushed as she tried to snatch them from him.
He held them high above her head while laughing at her attempts to reach them.
“You know I should've just held onto them,” he grinned as he held them in his teeth.
“No, give them back!” Nichole furious tried to get them back.
“Come get them,” he teased her as he ran off down the hall.
“Get back here!” she followed suit.
“Aw, that's so cute and gross at the same time,” Melody chuckled.
