Chapter 1
My first Zeal
I used to be a normal boy, with a normal family. A hardworking father, a dedicated home mom, and a younger brother who admired me just for being his older brother. At school, I used to be just another teenager, my personality didn't stand out at all, I spoke to whoever was needed, and I kept quiet when necessary. Maybe the only thing that stood out in me was my appearance. My skin, a shade darker than most, my eyes bright yellow and my completely straight black hair. I could often hear certain comments and rumors, many whispered behind my back on the subject, but that never mattered to me, nothing would happen from that point, the comments would remain only as comments, just like gossip and whispering, those were some of the advantages of studying in a private institute, students are a little more decent and calm.
I had managed to overcome most of the problems that were trying to hinder me. School was not easy, but not difficult either, each year passed was one more step to maturity. However, in the middle of the last year of school, with a little less than 6 months left to finish school, achieve independence with any job and start university studies, my parents divorced.
A teenage divorce is somewhat more common than you think. Many of my classmates went through the same thing. It was not particularly troublesome for me. They would simply part.
- My mother will probably stay with my younger brother since he is still very young.
I thought, and I would have to make a decision, go with dad or stay with mom. It was not a difficult decision; I would decide to stay with my mother, not for her, but for my younger brother. From the moment I heard the news of my parents' divorce, I had started planning everything, the school would remain the same and I would graduate very soon, I would start working and that way I could help my mother with expenses and with raising my younger brother.
But soon after, when my parents had already signed the papers and the move was taking place, the results of my gender exams arrived. My schools lagged a bit with the results, the exams were supposed to be done in the first year, but for reasons unknown to me, my school did the exams in the last year.
My parents did not attend the school meeting to deliver these results; they were too busy with their constant discussions, moving, work and my younger brother. Thanks to a note signed by my mother, the results of the gender tests were delivered to me. My expression probably didn't change much, I was never overly expressive, but my hands trembled as I held that paper in front of me. The teachers already knew that, so without saying a word, they just walked away and went on with their business. My eyes completely ignored the introduction, and the long paragraph explaining who knows what, my gaze went straight to the last part, a box with three divisions, where it said, Alpha, Beta and Omega. The latter, marked in the same way as teachers marked the correct answers on a school exam.
- What does this mean?
I wondered while I was still looking at the paper in my hands. All my plans no longer meant anything with this new situation that had come in a surprising and above all inopportune way. I was trying to fill myself with strength and hope; this was just one more obstacle that many have to go through at some point in their lives. I just had to think calmly and plan everything from the beginning. But my parents added yet another unwelcome factor to the situation
- I will not take care of a useless Omega - My father said.
- Sorry Shiroi, but an Omega child is too complicated, a single mother could not raise him alone - My mother said.
And each one simply went their own way. I no longer had to make any decision, I no longer had money to continue in the private institute that my father was paying for me, I no longer had a home, I no longer had anything. Realizing that I had been completely left to myself, I decided to take charge of myself, in fact, I had no choice. I looked for a part-time job, I transferred to a public school close to my job and I moved to a very small and cheap department.
The new institute was completely different from the previous one, the teachers were different, the students were different, the food, the classrooms, everything was different. Evidence that money makes a big difference to lifestyle and education. I had to buy a used uniform that came in conjunction with a pair of shoes and a brooch with a Roman numeral III which is supposed to be placed on the collar of the shirt, to identify that you are a third year. Since it was the middle of the last school year, all of my classmates had their friendships made and their groups established. In a few months everyone would take different directions at different universities, so I never bothered talking to someone or trying to be friends with someone, in fact, I had no interest in any of that. Life forced me to change my mind and mature before time, I no longer had anyone to take care of me or help me in difficult times. I could only think of studies, work, shopping, housework, etc. I had no time to waste on stupid unnecessary friendships.
My student life was quite relaxed; loneliness did not affect me much less the lack of friends. I simply spent my days in high school studying and my free time, thinking about my planned life when I graduated. But once again, life reminded me that, you cannot plan exactly in the future, you cannot see the future, no matter how much you plan; something will always happen that you never imagined would happen.
That afternoon one of the teachers had been absent due to a personal matter, so we were assigned free study. It is no secret to anyone that free study is used for everything except study. However, there I was, sitting at the back of the classroom, with a math book in my hands, trying to solve some difficult equations while the rest of my classmates chattered loudly all over the place.
- Look there! - Said a girl from the group that was to my right.
- Who are they? - Asked her friend.
- I don't know, but they are so handsome! - Exclaimed excited the girl from before.
- Let's go! Let's ask their names.
And finally the scandalous girls ran out of the room, they had probably seen some hot guys go by or something, that was the kind of thing that abounded in the thoughts of my classmates. I turned my attention to the math book; the equation was more complicated than I thought. A scandal was heard outside the classroom; apparently a group of boys were passing right in front of our classroom after their sports class. The girls simply went wild as they watched those attractive sweaty bodies pass in front of them, gasping after hard physical activity. I was just trying to focus on that difficult equation.
But soon it was totally impossible for me. Out of nowhere, a strong aroma completely washed over the classroom. I could perceive it so strongly and deeply that my senses began to blur. I looked up and turned towards the door of the classroom, that sweet and intoxicating aroma was surrounding me. I could see, a trace of that aroma coming from the hallway, that trace smelled like a hundred bright blue butterflies fluttered everywhere. I have never experienced anything like this before. I had listened to stories and read books where people tried to explain what they saw by feeling some aromas. But I always thought that just being able to see a scent was unrealistic.
Before I knew it, I had risen from my seat and had run into the hallway outside the classroom, some of my books had fallen to the floor due to the suddenness of my movements, I was immersed in a single idea, my heart was maddened It made me feel totally desperate to go after that scent. But as they stepped out into the hall, the trail ended in a towel that lay just ahead of the classroom. I could clearly see how the blue butterflies surrounded that towel.
- What is this? - A young man who raised the towel wondered.
- It looks like a towel - answered the girl next to him - maybe one of the boys who passed a moment ago dropped it.
Then my vision blurred. My body temperature increased every second that passed, it was increasingly difficult to breathe, and my body lost so much strength that I could no longer stand. I fell to the ground, leaning against one of the walls, holding my chest that looked like it would shoot out at any moment and making an incredible effort to control my fast breathing. Strange sensations ran through my body, especially those parts, they quickly began to wet and react for no apparent reason, I began to suffer from constant chills and a powerful need to touch me no matter if I was in the middle of a large crowd.
I slightly opened my eyes, and my vision was still blurred, however I could see a lot of fuchsia flowers dancing around me. Something strangely similar to blue butterflies, even though these were fuchsia flowers.
– Hmn? Suddenly I have started to feel a very sweet aroma - Said a girl who was around.
-Hey! Are you okay? - Said a teacher who was passing to realize the situation.
- And that was the first time my zeal came - Shiroi said as he finished putting the finishing touches on a beautiful flower arrangement and concluded with his account of the past.
Mr. Shiroi was an older man with a handsome appearance that made him look younger than he was, perhaps because of his beautiful dark skin, or perhaps his piercing yellow eyes or jet black hair, straight and long down to below your waist. The beast appeared to be an all-white gardener uniform, with a nice red wine check apron and a scarf around his neck. In its surroundings you could see shelves and counters full of all kinds of flowers and vases of all sizes and colors, on the outskirts of the place there were more flowers that seemed to decorate the entrance of the building, but all were exhibited to be sold.
– Thankfully there were no Alphas nearby - Mr. Shiroi continued saying - so everything was kept under control. I was rushed to a hospital for examination and to establish the type of inhibitors I would use to control heat from then on.
- Waaaaa! - Exclaimed the young man next to him.
A young boy named Norio who worked as an assistant in Mr. Shiroi's flower shop. He sported bright red hair, wavy to the neck, his skin was very pale and his eyes were light pink. Beast a uniform similar to that of Lord Shiroi, but this was all squared and his apron was dark red. Despite being only a boy no more than 14 years old, he narrowly outnumbered Mr. Shiroi, perhaps because the boy was very tall in nature or simply Mr. Shiroi was short in stature.
- How was that for you? - Continued Norio, surprised by the story he just heard - Fortunately there were no Alphas nearby, I have heard terrifying stories that happen when an Omega with zeal is found by an Alpha.
Little Norio was thoughtful as he tried to imitate the flower arrangement his teacher had made to teach him the methods. The boy couldn't stop thinking about the story, he had many questions to ask, but he was afraid it would be rude of him.
- But Mister Shiroi! - Norio finally decided to ask his questions - Whose aroma was in the shape of blue butterflies?
Shiroi smiles slightly upon hearing the question, then takes the vase full of perfectly arranged flowers and displays it in front of him.
- Look! - He says, with a sweet smile as he holds the vase and looks at his little pupil - We have finally finished this arrangement.
- Waaaaa! - The little Norio reacts in his typical way - He has been amazing Mr. Shiroi!
Norio is thoughtful for a few seconds until he finally realizes the deception.
- EH?!! - Norio exclaims strongly - NO!! WAIT!! I WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THAT SCENT!!
- Hehe, I'm sorry little Norio, but you know that if I don't hurry, I'll be late.
- Hmg! - Norio reconsiders - I ... I know.
- I promise that another day I will tell you more.
Then Mr. Shiroi takes his bag, hangs it on his right shoulder and says goodbye, leaving the responsibilities of closing the store to his young assistant.
