I was there for 2 years. 2 years I was being held captive by Kyle's vampires. It's been only 2 years but it felt like torture. Every day they would try something new. A new test, a new technique. 2 years I've been stuck in this tiny cage with no where to run, no where to hide, no where to do anything. I just want it to be over.
Smoke filled up the room, making me cough violently. It smelled like fire, like something burning. There was lots and lots of yelling, and screaming. It brought back a lot of old memorys I've been trying to avoid and get rid of.
I pressed my palms of my hands and put them up to my eats trying to get rid of the sound. But with my hands on my ears there was nothing to try and help stop the fog from me breathing it in.
Two people entered the room and once they saw me, the immediately came over, unlocked the lock and pulled me out. I didnt care if I didnt know them, so I didnt scream or kick them. I allowed them to take me out of the dark room, threw the burning area and into the fresh air.
I took deep breaths when we got to the court yard. It had almost been a year since i last saw anything green or anything with light.
Looking around i realized there were almost a hundred eyes trained on me. They were pale but instead of red shot eyes they varied in different colors from green to blue to brown. They all watched me with a certain curiosity that now made me want to scream and kick and run but before I could someone was walking up to me. I stood my ground but didnt make eye contact and looked at the grass.
The man stopped in front of me and sat on both knees in front of me. "Are you ok?" That had me look at him. He had black hair, pale skin, bright green eyes and was wearing a frown. Which did confuse me a bit. I nodded answering his question. Even if it was a lie. I was sore and most definitely bleeding somewhere. He smiled. Smiled? My head turned a little to the side. I havent seen someone smile since I was with my old pack. "What's wrong?" The smile was gone in an instant.
"I-I havent seen someone smile since I was with my old pack." I admited quietly. It was quite sad when you thought about it but from my perspective it brought back tons of memorys that I wanted to burn and rip to shreds. The man frowned even more.
"My name is Quinten. I'm the leader of the Lightside vampire clan." Quinten said. He didnt say anything after obviously wanting me to say my name as well.
"Colton." I say quietly again. But if the man was a vampire, which he smelled like, he would be able to hear it at any volume I say. The man nodded. "Your not going to hurt me are you?" Quinten was looking at the people behind but when I asked his head shot down to me, his eyes meeting mine.
"Never." He said with much more confidence than I needed. "How old are you?"
"5" He nodded agian.
"How long you been here?"
"2 years." He nodded as if he done this before.
"Parents?"
"Dead." Quinten was about to ask another question but his lips shut. I know. Hearing a 5 year old who's been held hostage by a group of vampires dosnet have any parents to go to after is actually very sad to think about. But let's not think about it.
"Oh. Sorry." I shrugged. "Any other relatives?" I shook my head. He sighed. He thought for a good couple of moments obviously trying to come up with some sort of plan. "Why dont you stay with us for a little bit?" It sounded more of a question and I'm glad it did. He was giving me the chance to say no. But where would I go if I said no? Where would I run? I nodded, which gave him back his smile that I loved more than anything right now. "Great. OK then. Change of plans guys!" He said as he stood up to face his clan. "Were taking the boy in until we can find some sort of home for him. And if I hear one person touched him you'll end up like them." He pointed to the house. I knew what was over there. I could smell it, smell the burning wood, burning flesh, burning everthing. So I took my chances with the no looking back. "Colton here will be protected, so if you see someone hurting him yous stop them and since hes a werewolf it may happen so keep your eye out." I wanted to smile so badley. No one has ever cated about me that much to say that, to protect me. "Let's head out." He said after another moment of scilence.
..................
Walking back was kinda peaceful. I got to see a lot of nature as we past through a forest. Everything was so vibrant in colors.
Quinten was walking besides me in the front of everybody. I could hear whispers of conversations but every conversation I heard wasnt about me for once, and I couldnt feel any stares on me. It felt like the weight of the world and the weight of all the stares and the weight of disappointment was finally taken of my shoulders. It felt refreshing.
Walking back was shorter than I wished it was. It only took about a half an hour to an hour to make it from the burning one to the non burning nicer one. I saw vampires playing outside-
Outside? In the daylight?
I looked over at Quinten. He didnt look like he was in pain, his skin look healthy other than the paleness to it. He looked almost.....human.
Quentin looked over at him meeting his eyes. "Yes?" He asked.
"How are you doing that?" One of Quintens eyebrows went up.
"Doing what?"
"Walking in the sun." Relization dawned over the man as his face and muscles relaxed.
"Don't know. No one knows. My clan has just been known to be able to be in the sun."
"So anyone in this clan is able to be in the sun?"
"Yes but they have to have a direct blood connection to a family in this clan." Thinking back I dont think I've ever heard of a vampire clan that could do this. I didnt know vampires could do this. I mean yeah there were certain people who could do it but they were mostly human but after a while there skin would start to burn if sun came in contact.
"That's cool." I muttered. "That's really cool actually." Quenten laughed. Maybe being here with a bunch of vampires wouldnt be so bad after all. Well hopefully not like the other one.
