A year and a half had passed quite quickly.
I was soon approaching my 7th year birthday. Though my studies progressed quite well a sense of urgency surrounded me.
I had yet to come into contact with someone who could help me.
Though with my quick progress I managed to make my male genitor more impressed with me which made him more enthusiastic about taking me to some high-class alpha parties.
However, for some reason, I couldn't find any important people there...Though my family's business wasn't at the scale of the Rosenwood's we were still a quite respectable alpha family and as such, were allowed to frequent most elite circles.
But why is my bad luck so big? None of the characters I was desperately trying to find appeared at those reunions...I didn't even see the Rosenwoods anymore...Now that I think about it, it's almost time for the death of their current patriarch, Orion Rosenwood.
The time for the villain's blackening is almost here.
I guess I won't be seeing the villain for a long time...But now I don't have time for thinking about him.
As I still can't find a way to escape the Riverstone's before my 10th birthday, at least I should guarantee my financial aspects.
So if worst comes to worst I can at least escape after my 18th birthday.
That's why, right now, I'm currently on my way to the Federation's national bank (FNB), to open my first bank account.
Surprisingly, opening a bank account is quite easy. There are not many restrictions on it. This is mainly because Alpha families like to encourage their children to become independent quite early so it's quite common for the children to have bank accounts.
No matter your age, the only person that can access or withdraw the money is the one who created the account. Also, the private system of this agency was quite strong. It kinda reminded me of Swiss banks...... Though I never had an account on them in my past life...
The car stopped. The driver opened the door to me and I got out of the car with a jump.
I look at the imponent building in front of me and almost whistled.
This was the biggest building I had ever seen in my two lives!
Clearly, the FNB isn't called 'the biggest bank in the world ' for nothing.
I entered the building. Alone. Since my 6th birthday, my parents didn't restrict my actions. At most, they sent one or two hidden bodyguards with me. They didn't even show any interest in what I did outside Maybe people would say this was neglect from their part but their attitude was the norm in this world.
For me, this was the best. The more freedom I had, the biggest were my chances of escaping.
As soon as I went in, a smiling blond woman came to me. She didn't show any particular reaction to the fact I was a child. She asked if I needed help. I told her I came to open a private account.
I saw her eyes quickly judging my clothes. She should have judged that I was from a quite well off family as her attitude towards me became even more respectful.
The woman took me to the 53rd floor. She guided me to a very comfortable waiting room.
I sat down in a very comfy armchair and my attendant quickly offered me some food and drinks as she apologized for having to make me wait as it seemed all the rooms were occupied.
I didn't mind at all and concentrated on eating what was in front of me. I have to say the cookies they offered me were quite delicious. Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to enjoy the sweets as a commotion soon took place.
A man was kicked out of one of the rooms. And when I said he was kicked out, I mean it literally. He fell on his butt a few meters out of the room. From the looks of it, he should be a beta: no alpha would be treated this way and omegas wouldn't even be able to enter this floor. His face was red and teary.
This should have hurt. These bankers are quite merciless.
I observed the guy in an amusing manner. Did I pity him? Of course... not. I was a cold guy who was already too busy trying to avoid death or an even worse destiny to care for a perfectly healthy man. Besides, I doubt words of consolation coming from a kid would help him.
The guy briefly massaged his butt before start to madly knock at the closed door.
"Wait! Please, at least let me finish what I have to say!"
The door opened. A tough-looking guy came out and smiled at the beta.
"My apologies sir, Your request for funding was denied. Please withdraw from this location."
"Please! Just hear me! The omega inhibitor I'm creating will certainly bring many benefits!"
"Sir, if you don't withdraw now, I'll make you do so by force."
Wait. Did he just say he was researching about omega's inhibitors?
I took a better look at the guy begging with a face full of snot.
He was still quite young. Probably in his early twenties. He had long black hair stuck in a ponytail. In a world where vision problems were easily treated, he was also the first person I ever saw using glasses.
Be it his face features or his body, all his physical traits were very similar to a certain character...
I was wrong.
My heart was bigger than I expected.
I guess this old (?) man could still afford some space in his heart for the sake of the idealistic young researcher in front of me.
I put on an innocent smile and went in the direction of the researcher.
