His Traitor Queen.

Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Jul 14, 2020

Long before time, God created life. Unlike him, his creation was powerless, had weaknesses, and most importantly, had emotions. But he soon realized that the heavenly world was not suitable for his creation. It was too powerful for its weak body, too lonely. So he built a universe fit for his creation. He created more of them and divided them into groups; Archaea, Eubacteria, Eukaryota.

This was this cycle of life. But his first creation, the humans, stirred quite a lot of trouble. So he made several other gods and goddesses, gave them responsibilities and powers. Their main duty was to protect and watch over the universe.

Over time these gods and goddesses began messing with the universe. They used their powers to make their own creations, different from humans; more powerful than humans. And with crossbreeding and evolution several creatures existed, some more powerful than the others. Realizing the gravity of the situation, God built a barrier between the natural and supernatural realm. And to protect both sides, he banned the gods and goddesses from ever visiting the universe again.

The supernatural realm was beyond the explanation of science. In it lived magnificent creatures with magic and powerful abilities. They grouped themselves into different species; Witches, Werewolves, Mermaids, Fairies, vampires, and many more.

This story is about them.

***

You know those days when you suddenly wake up from deep sleep and question your existence? You have no idea what day it is nor what happened before you fell asleep. Then as you slowly wrack your brain, the memories rush in piece by piece until the picture is complete. That's what happened to me as I woke up this morning. Except even after being fully awake, I still have no recollection of who I am or what happened.

My head is throbbing and I can feel a massive headache making its way to ruin my day.

Wait, what day is it? And where the hell am I?

I slowly try to lift myself from my fetal position on the floor. As soon as I lift my head, I feel it. The awful soreness in my neck and shoulders and excruciating pain from my abdomen. I look down and nearly gag at the sight of my torso. My clothes are a tattered mess with dirt and feces stuck on it. I gag again.

God, I hope that's not werewolf feces.

Then I see it. The 2-inch stab wound just below my ribs; narrowly missing it. The wound has stopped bleeding but from the dark stain on the floor and on my clothes I can say that I have lost too much blood. Too much to make it out of this alive. I look back at the wound again. The surrounding area is red and swollen and I see slimy pus leaking from the wound. Infection. I immediately rip off my sleeve and carefully tie it around my wound.

Sorry, I don't really have the equipment to treat you now.

After several minutes of grunting and moaning like a whale giving birth; I lift myself and lean against the wall. I look up and realize that I am in a cell. How do I know that? Well, if the grey walls and the thick metal door doesn't scream prison cell; I don't know what does.

What is that awful smell? I think, scrunching my nose. The entire room smells of feces and urine. Is it mine? Never mind I don't want to know that.

The wall I was leaning on had a large metal ring holding chains attached to it. My eyes slowly move along the length of the metal chain and finally lands on my feet. Both of my feet are chained by thick metal cuffs. I move my feet against the cuff and hiss at the horrible pain.

Silver, just dandy. No wonder my wounds did not heal.

Silver is the only metal that can physically and mentally hurt a werewolf. Physically it burns you inside out and mentally it exhausts you; blocking all bonds and connection you have with others, including your wolf.

I close my eyes and try to recollect what happened. Darkness and silence lay beneath my lids. Come on! Give me something to work on. This time I do hear a sound. Except its not from my head. The floor beneath me rumbles as heavy footsteps reach my ears. The metal door rattles and is suddenly pushed open. A tall man steps inside. Calling him a man was an understatement. He was a beast. 7 feet tall with broad shoulders ripped with hard muscles, He does look quite huggable. He had thick eyebrows and unforgiving dark eyes; the lower half of his face was covered with a bushy untamed beard. "Get her." He growls lowly.

Two others quickly step inside the cell and start working on removing my cuffs. After carefully putting the silver away they harshly grab my arms from either side and start dragging me.

I try to ask them the question that's been drilling inside my head since I woke up. Where am I? What am I doing here? but my throat is too dry and no sound leaves me.

Too tired to fight, I let them drag me out of the cell. The dragging makes the pain on my abdomen increase tenfold and a thought passes through my mind just before falling into darkness again.

Holy smokes, what's my name?

"Prisoner381 will be condemned with capital punishment of death by hanging for high treason against the royal family of Kingdom of Eistas."

These words should terrify me, make me cry and scream; but they don't. Instead, my head is in frenzy trying to figure out what that stupefying smell is and where is it coming from. Is it what I think it is?

"No..no.." I murmur. I can't die now, not before I find my...my...

Suddenly the rag on my head is pulled off. The sunrays lick my skin as a noose is placed around my neck. It tightens as the stool supporting my weight is being slowly pushed to the side. But my eyes, stare straight ahead.

Found you, I think sadly

At the platform right in front of me, on the throne with the royal crown on his head sits,

My mate.

She was lost. A traitor. Bound by the demons of her memories. Or the lack of.

He was a king. Young and inexperienced. Shackled by the expectations of his people and the reality of an ill-fated prophecy.

They were the opposites. Both a forbidden fruit for each.

Was is it fate that brought them together or her weird tendency to attract handsome men at every turn?
