She kicked him; kicked him, he couldn’t believe it. A combination of shock and pain dropped him to his knees, he cradled in groin to numb the pain. She must have had practiced doing that, it was too accurate and precise. As much as he wanted to be angry for some reason, he was anything but, even in her fear she protected herself. She was a fighter he liked that.
He got up with a groan, he had to get to her first because anyone else would kill her without a second thought and he couldn’t let that happen. She expelled the poison from his body with a single touch and the images he saw the second time they touch each other was unreal but he knew she saw and felt them too. He had to find out why, had to find out more about her and the Devil helped anyone who laid a hand on her.
He ran out the room following the noise and chaos, he reached just in time to see her Taser Dimitra and sprint under some tables. She was crawling fast below them, he looked over to the direction she was heading and realized she was trying to make a break for the fences with Dimitra tossing tables behind her back as she tried to reach her. He couldn’t help but laugh, his little human was giving his fellow demons a run for their money. The human woman sprang from under a table and tasered his second in command before dropping and sliding under another table.
He would be lying if he said he wasn’t impressed, she was making use of the small Taser, but he had to end this before she got hurt. There weren't many humans that did not cower when face to face with a demon, but something was driving her to keep going, the determination was written over her entire face and her eyes shone with a fire that he found titillating. He followed close as she ran throwing her entire weight into the heavy doors that led out of the castle.
Curious as to what she would do, he let the chase continue but vowing to not let Dimitra get close to her or anyone to hurt her for that matter. She paused for a moment; awe stuck to her face as she took in the city she was thrust into. She began to run again when she heard the shrieks and growls behind her. Running at a sprint she knocked unsuspecting demons down and out of her way rarely looking over her shoulders as she continued her escape.
Taking a sharp left when she noticed the fencing, she slipped falling forward onto the hard ground. She slammed her fist on the ground and was up just as fast as she when down with a small limp in her run. Grimacing each time, she dropped weight on her right leg but the growing crowd behind her appeared to propel her forward.
She had made it to the fence and began to climb over it when one of the guards grabbed her leg and began to pull her down toward him. For some reason, this angered him causing him to grab the guard and throw him back across the room, the word MINE screamed in his mind, at the same time she yelled for the guard to let go and turned slightly Taser ready but stop when she saw it was Eros. Again, she seemed to freeze in place when their eyes met but quickly when she broke contact and saw the horde streaming towards her.
She was over the fence in seconds, but he knew she had cut herself, as he could smell the richness of her blood filled the space. He didn’t need blood to survive not like his distant cousins, but it made him want to feed on her essence until she couldn’t take him anymore. Images of her, writhing and begging beneath him flooded across his mind that he barely noticed the horde of demons that had already passed him and was angrily moving towards her.
Spreading his wing quickly, he glided over the fence and through the tunnel she had ran into. He dropped in front of them with his wings still spread widely essentially blocking them from getting to her. She stared at his wings wide eyed; he doubted if she had ever seen anything like it before. His wings were a marvel onto themselves, they could only be described as angel’s wings but was a pristine black with gold littered all over it and expanded more than six feet wide. No other incubus or succubus for that matter had wings such as his even its colouring was unique.
But that was Eros, he was rare and unique that made him an envy of many, but it was what also gave him the insight to help his people. He saw how far they could go and the things they could accomplish if only they released themselves from ancient accustoms that threatened their very existence. The world was changing not just theirs; the human world most certainly was, and he would change his people along side them if he had to drag them himself.
He in no way wanted to align and show their existence to the human but he wanted to have the ability to defense and protect his people if or when they were discovered. As much as something nasty twisted in his gut at the human woman’s reaction to him, he knew this would be the norm, but she was meant to be more to him without doubt he knew this. After what Dimitra had put her through, her reaction was not a surprise and something in him also told him that words spoken between them would change her reaction to him.
Protecting her was all, his mind, body and soul seemed to want that this moment. Keeping her Dimitra was a start, she couldn’t be trusted and would kill her in a second since she knew he would not allow her too. Dimitra saw the interaction between them, saw how he was awoken, and she may not know how but she knew there was a connection that Eros knew she would want to sever with the woman’s death. This he could not allow, not when he just found what made his soul and heart still.
He kept his eyes on her but spoke to those behind him, “Leave,” he retracted his wings.
“Let me deal with her, Eros,” Dimitra said as she walked towards him.
He would have turned around towards them, but he couldn’t bring himself to look away from her. How a human could be so beautiful, he wondered even as she stared at her fearfully with wide eyes. Her beauty was something that seemed to have no end as he shameless ogled her from head to toe. Her body called to him even though he knew she was fit from the way she moved moments ago, her body looked soft and lush to him. Her hips with wide and ample, he couldn’t stop the images of his hand sinking deep into those very hips and he bucked with utter abandonment in her. Visions of her wanting more, begging for more and matching his lust plagued his mind. The word MINE screamed in his mind.
“Let me deal with her, Eros,” Dimitra said as she walked towards him. She noticed the way Eros looked at the human; she saw the purple hunger in them back in his room. She would not let a human ruined her plans not now.
“What part of leave did you not understand, or do you really wish to see me angry?” he was already angered at her for what she did back in the room, but he kept himself in control out of fear of scaring the human again.
Dimitra glared at the back of Eros’s head, but she knew that as good a fighter she was, she was no match for him. It wasn’t supposed to go like this; he wasn’t supposed to protect this insignificant human.
The human she noticed looked at her with contempt and hatred and stood like she was ready to attack Dimitra the moment she was within reach.
She would have laughed if it were not so incredulous, the useless human really thought she could challenge her and possibly win. She would cut her into pieces and throw the pieces to Eros.
“As you wish,” She turned to leave.
“Dimitra,” he looked over his shoulder. “It is commander not Eros.” His gaze returned to the human.
Her lips pursed until it was a straight line; no matter what it cost; she would make that woman suffer before she killed her. Dimitra stomped off towards her own home away from the castle.
