Once Jake and I had finished our lunch, we out away our lunch trays. And then walked to the field so that we could get some fresh air, and relax before the next class.
Once we had found a good spot to sit down, and I said,
"Are you new here?" I asked. "I don't think I saw you last year."
"Ya, I am new to the school," Jake said. "I ended up moving across the country because of my mom's work."
"That sounds kinda cool," I said. "It's cool that you are able to see a new place. Even though I have never moved out of this town, as far as I can remember."
"It kinda is," Jake said. "Except for having to say goodbye to my friends and family."
"I can't imagine what that would be like," I said. "I guess that we will be there for each other."
"I guess so," Jake said. "Do you want to hang out sometime, and play our instruments?"
"Sure!" I said happily. "I would be happy to get away from my family for a little bit. They think that my playing is trash just to mess with me, so I never knew if my playing was any good."
"I bet that it is amazing," Jake said. "But I wouldn't mind. Ukulele is just a very happy instrument."
"What class do you have next?" I asked. "I have art."
"I think that I have art too," Jake said. "Even though I am not the best at it."
"It's okay," I said. "Whenever I would draw, I would completely zone out and hours could pass by, and I would think I had been drawing for ten minutes."
"Hah," Jake said. "I guess that we should get going so that we aren't late."
We then walked inside so that we could deposit our things from English class, and make sure that we would have what we would most likely need in our backpacks.
'I guess that I might not have the worst seventh grade after all.' I thought. 'I will have someone who would accompany me on the journey.'
Mine and Jake's lockers were not close to each other, so we separated to get our stuff.
And when I got to my locker, I saw that Malissa and Ally were leaning right against the door.
And Malissa had a menacing look on her face. And Ally looked tortured.
