The boy's eyes were scanning every corner of the scenery in front of him. It was so beautiful! There was a very vast green field in front of him, and contrasting the green grassy land, there stood Hyde's maroon house. Knowing the look of curiosity in Hikaru's eyes, Hyde told Hikaru to look around while he went to tend to his guest.
Hikaru watched as Hyde walked toward the red haired young man who was standing angrily in front of Hyde's door. That guy was staring directly at Hikaru as if he was poking a hole on Hikaru's face with his gaze. Hikaru smiled at him, but he was ignored. Hikaru shrugged and walked away.
The boy's eyes wandered around the surrounding. Hyde's house design was similar to English traditional country cottage in Earth. It had thatched roof, which made the half brick, half wooden house looked more traditional and unique. The house itself was not really big, but not that small. If Hikaru were to describe it, it was family-sized.
Family.
Hikaru paused.
“I wonder if it was okay for me to live here. What if Hyde had a family?” Hikaru frowned. He didn't want to be a burden to Hyde. Surely if Hyde had his family living there, his family must be feeling uncomfortable if a stranger suddenly barged in their house. Hikaru remembered when he was temporarily living in his aunt's house when his parents were in the process of divorcing. He felt so out of place and uncomfortable.
Hikaru shook his head and continued to view the house.
Earlier, he was amazed by the sturdiness of the fence that surrounded the land which was made out of bricks and stones stacked together neatly. Hikaru came from the city, so this kind of things amazed him greatly. Right in front of the house, there was a small wooden gate that was painted in white. It was cute and looked handmade. Maybe Hyde made it himself?
Hikaru headed to a big tree near the stone fence. He leaned his body on the tree, enjoying the shade. Then, the black haired boy looked at the distance and saw fields of wild flower covering some part s of the green grass. It was pleasing to the eyes. There were a field of yellow flowers glistening under the sunlight. Was it butterweed? Or was it canola? Or maybe yellowrocket? He reckoned that none of the flowers existed in this world.
Hikaru directed his eyes back to the house. Next to the house, he saw a small farm with all kinds of vegetation which probably grew by Hyde. Hikaru smiled. For a city boy like him who was sick of the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle, he found that this house was a pleasant and comfortable place to live in.
Hikaru's eyes met Hyde's. Hyde smiled and beckoned him to his side. Hikaru quickly headed to Hyde's side. Hyde pointed his hand toward the redhead.
“This is Reese, my childhood friend.” Hyde introduced the grumpy Reese to Hikaru. Hikaru felt like he was intruding between them when Reese just blatantly showed them that he wasn't welcomed there.
Hyde glared at the redhead and dragged Reese closer to his side. He gestured his hand toward Hikaru, “This is Hikaru. Like I said before, he's going to live with me for now. Be nice to him.”
Reese grumbled before nodding his head. The redhead then pouted at Hyde.
"But if he's gonna live here, then I will too!” Reese demanded.
Hyde ruffled Reese's head while giving the guy a gentle smile. “I expect you to be Hikaru's friend while he's here. I can count on you, right?”
Reese grinned brightly and hit his chest with confidence. “Of course!” he said while not noticing Hyde was succeeded in changing the topic. Hikaru was amazed at Hyde's skill on controlling Reese- uh, I mean, controlling the situation.
Hikaru was staring at Reese and thought that the guy was quite cute, like a grumpy small animal. Cat, maybe. Hikaru stared at Reese's lion tail. A very big cat. Hyde invited the two in and headed to the kitchen. Hikaru followed Hyde closely to avoid being stared at by Reese. Hyde laughed when he realized that.
“Although he acted like that, Reese was three years older than you,” informed Hyde while his took out a few ingredients from a small metal box that looked like a cooler.
“Eeeh?! So he's 19?!” Hikaru shouted with a whispered voice. He glanced at Reese that was distracted by a swinging wooden decoration on the coffee table that looked like a fancy-ly decorated pendulum. When Hikaru looked at him closely, he noticed that Reese's body was defined with muscles, although it wasn't on the level of body builders. He looked short when he was standing beside Hyde, but Reese actually looked like he was around more than 1.7m (5’7”). While Hikaru was shorter, at 1.6m (5’3”) and Hyde was around 1.8m (5’11”) or taller.
Thinking about heights made Hikaru felt down. Even among his peers in Japan, he was shorter in average for males. Hikaru pouted.

Hikaru's impression of Reese was that Reese was like a storm. He came by, made a fuss and went home. Hyde laughed when Hikaru told him this.
“You're right,” Hyde said while laughing his butt off.
Hyde told Hikaru there was one more person that he really wanted to introduce to Hikaru. Including that person and Reese, the three of them were inseparable friends. Since they were little, the adults who knew them called the three as ‘The Three Musketeers’. Among them, Reese was the youngest. That's why he depended on them a lot and always acted spoiled, especially with Hyde.
Hikaru giggled. He now understands why Reese acted like that. Hyde probably spoiled him rotten ever since they were a child. Hikaru thought that Reese was cute, and the cutesy act kind of suited Reese even when Reese had that tough and tall body.
“How old are you, by the way?” Hikaru asked Hyde.
“I just turned 20 the other day,” said Hyde while sipping his favourite tea.
That was unexpected. Hikaru guessed that Hyde would be a little more older than Reese. Guess, age had nothing to do with mental maturity.
“Are you okay? You look paler than before,” Hyde asked Hikaru with concern written clearly on his face. “I think you need a rest,” Hyde continued.
Hikaru touched his face and smiled. He did felt a little exhausted. “It was normal, really. My body was in the weaker side,” informed Hikaru.
“Do you mind?” Hyde asked while he held out his hand for Hikaru. Hikaru put his hand timidly on the top of Hyde's big palm. He could feel the warmth from Hyde's hand when the guy was gently holding his hand.
“I thought your body was cold because you were soaked, but this looked like you were lacking on mana,” Hyde said after looking at Hikaru's bluish nails. “Your hands were colder than it should be, and your nails are blue. I'll call Noon, the one I mentioned before. He's a doctor. He'll check on you later.”
Hikaru nodded. He was sure that was normal for someone who was having a heart condition like him. His temperature was a bit lower than other people, and his nails were usually blue. He was more curious about mana, though. Can the people here use magic like in those isekai manga?
Hyde made Hikaru drink some kind of milk before he put Hikaru to sleep. That milk really did made Hikaru felt refreshed for a little. Just a little, though. After looking at Hikaru for a while, he confirmed that Hikaru face had regained its colour. Hyde then told Hikaru to rest while he went to work.
Hikaru couldn't help but to think that Hyde was a very kind person. Too kind, to be exact. Who in the world would left his house with a stranger in it?
“Well, not that I would do anything bad...”
Hikaru decided that for now, he would sleep and regain his strength. That way, he could be useful to Hyde. His eyes slowly felt heavy.

Hyde returned home before dinner and checked on Hikaru who was still sleeping in the guest room. He touched Hikaru's forehead and hands to make sure that his temperature was normal. Hikaru was still cold, unfortunately. Usually, a little rest will make the body recovered mana faster. Maybe because Hikaru was from another world, his body still couldn't adjust itself just yet. Hyde adjusted Hikaru's blanket and pulled the blanket to cover Hikaru up to the boy's neck.
After making sure Hikaru was alright, Hyde went ahead to the kitchen. He was thinking of waking Hikaru up after he finished preparing dinner. For the sake of Hikaru, he should cook something that could warm up his body.
In the middle of his cooking session, Hyde heard a knock on the door. It looked like Noon had arrived at the front door. Hyde opened the door and invited him in.
“Where's the kid?” Noon asked as soon as his bottom touched the chair. His eyes were looking around the house.
“He was still sleeping. His body was cold and he looked exhausted,” informed Hyde.
As if he could feel like they were talking about him, Hikaru appeared. At the same time, both Hyde and Noon automatically directed their eyes toward Hikaru. The boy yawned while rubbing his eyes. He politely greeted Hyde and the unknown man who was sitting at the dining table.
“This is the one I mentioned before, Noon. He was the most capable doctor in this town.” Hyde introduced Noon to Hikaru with a face full of pride.
Noon laughed at Hyde's words. “Don't say that. You're just too biased.” He turned his attention to Hikaru and flashed his friendly smile to the boy. “You're Hikaru, right? How are you feeling?”
Hikaru took a seat next to Noon and smiled politely. Noon gestured Hikaru to held out his hand. Hikaru did as he was told.
“A little bit tired,” Hikaru answered while watching Noon checking his pulse. The doctor's eyebrows were furrowed before he slowly turned his head to Hyde. Noon's reaction made Hikaru nervous. Noon smiled at Hikaru to ease the boy's nerve.
“It seems like you had an irregular heartbeat and a weak body. Your mana reservoir is smaller than average, and it were almost completely used to keep on repairing your body. If you let it happen a little longer, your mana will keep on decreasing and you live will be in danger.”
Hyde took a seat on the other side of the table. With a concern look on his face, he looked at Noon and Hikaru. “Then, what should we do? Should I give him more Milk Dew?” Hyde asked.
Noon nodded. He looked at Hikaru. “Hyde told me that he gave you Milk Dew this afternoon. It could help to replenish your mana, but it won't do much.”
Hikaru remembered the milk Hyde gave him earlier. It sure did made him felt a little bit better, but it didn't really made him fully refreshed. Noon turned his head toward Hyde.
“Did you know that Hikaru unconsciously absorbed your mana?” he asked Hyde.
Hyde's eyes widen in shock. He shook his head. “Figures,” Noon mumbled before turned to Hikaru. “For some people like me, we could see mana. Your mana is very different from people in this world. You're not from Avalleon, aren't you?”
Hikaru was surprised with what Noon said. He quickly looked at Hyde. Hyde was flustered. He shook his head. “I didn't tell him anything!”
“There was a record of people from another world was transmitted into this world. I think it was... around 300 years ago?” Noon tapped the tip of his nose with his right index finger, thinking. “They said that they had mana which looked like a soft white light was enveloping the body. The people of Avalleon, which we called ourselves as Avish, had mist-shaped mana. With different colours.”
Noon told them that Hikaru's light was bright, but small and thin, barely enveloping Hikaru's body. Because of Hikaru's mana was too low, Hikaru's body unconsciously absorbed Hyde's mana, which was very compatible with his body.
“But don't worry, though. The amount of mana that Hikaru absorbed was as thin as a thread. If you wondered what it looks like, it's like there was a blue thread connecting Hikaru's and Hyde's heart,” explained Noon with a giggle. “It suited you both though...”
Hikaru furrowed his eyebrows and directed his sight towards Hyde, whose cheeks were tinted red. What did Noon mean by 'suited us both'?
“Just to make sure, did you currently felt pain or discomfort?” Noon asked Hikaru. Hikaru shook his head, denying Noon's question. “If you feel any pain or discomfort, call me immediately. But I think you'll be okay. You are both each other's Jiwa, after all.”
Noon held his grumbling stomach and told them that he'll continue after dinner. Hikaru just realized that he was also starving. He looked at the food that Hyde was serving and gulped down his saliva.
