A powerful stench of blood and rain awoke her from sleep. It was the familiar smell that she was all too used to.
“What is it?” she groaned as she sat up on the couch.
“Don’t tell me you forgot me already?” a deep voice called out to her.
She quickly opened her eyes as she saw the warlock standing over her once more.
“How did you find me?!” she snarled.
He reached down and grabbed her chin, “You thought you could hide from me forever? That little spell that you put on yourself has worn away.”
She jerked her head but couldn’t loosen his grip, “How did you know that?!”
"The Artifact. Did you seriously not know what it was?" he grinned as he released her.
She stood up and backed away from him, “How do you know about that?”
He walked around the coffee table as he suddenly turned to smoke. The smoke flowed around the room before landing in front of her.
“The artifact is a warlock heritage crest,” he explained to her as he regained form.
Tega backed up against the wall, “A warlock crest?”
“Indeed,” he smiled creeping closer to her.
Her eyes cut to the side as she noticed a werewolf creeping towards them.
The warlock smiled as he noticed the beast but didn’t say anything. The werewolf launched towards him as he turned back into a smokey cloud. Tega dodged the attack and sat on the floor as she watched the warlock grab the werewolf by the neck and slamming it into the wall. The werewolf snarled and growled at him.
“I have no use for you,” the warlock grunted as he tightened his grip.
“No don’t!” Tega cried out.
The warlock looked over at her and grinned, “As you wish.”
He released his grip and the werewolf turned back human as it hit the ground.
“Another time,” the warlock whispered to her as he flew out of the window.
As soon as he was out of sight, she crawled over to the body.
“Nore?” she whispered.
He looked up at her, “I followed him here. Are you okay?”
She smiled, “Of course.”
Helping him up, she carried him into the bedroom and laid him down on the bed.
“What were you thinking?” she asked as she checked his wounds.
“I guess I wasn’t,” he grunted.
“You’re hurt pretty bad,” she told him as she tried to stabilize him.
“I will be fine,” he assured her as he laid back on the bed,” There is something that can help me heal faster.”
Rolling her eyes, she replied,” A healing spell.”
He laughed, “Not exactly what I was thinking.”
“I know,” she laid down beside him.
Neither said a word for a few seconds as she wrapped her arm around him and laid on his chest. He flinched for a moment and then put his arm around her.
“Are you going to be okay if I leave for a while?” she asked.
“Where are you going?” he whispered without a reply.
“I have to take care of a few things,” she replied as she sat up.
She began to get off the bed when he grabbed her arm. She turned around to face him as she waited for him to say something. He didn’t speak instead he leaned up and kissed her.
“Nore, I—“ she whispered.
He kissed her deeper as he ignored her pleas. He was more passionate than before.
His kiss had meaning.
Wanting.
It was no longer demanding.
“I thought I was going to lose you,” he muttered to her.
She was shocked at his emotional display. She knew he wanted her, but she didn’t know if he had feelings for her. The animal instinct was something that had taken control of a lot of creature's feelings replacing their love with desire.
“W-what?” she stumbled on her words.
“I—“ he looked at her for a moment, ”I love you.”
“What?!” a voice sounded from behind them.
Tega turned around to see Nario standing in the doorway. She didn’t know what to say to him about the current situation. It was the first time he saw the two together. Even though it was his twin brother, his anger didn’t subside.
“So, this is how it is?” he growled.
“Nario?” Tega replied as she stood up, “We were attacked by…”
He ignored her as he stormed past her toward his brother.
"Good to see you too, bro," Nore grinned as he sat upon the bed.
“You finally show your face, and she is who you go after?” Nario snarled at him.
Nore sighed as he stood up, “Don’t get your panties in a bunch.”
Tega ran up to him, “Wait for a second guys!”
“Tega stay out of this!” Nario screamed as he pushed her back.
Nore growled and turned into a werewolf as he pounced on his brother. Nario transformed as he growled and hissed back at him.
“Guys! Stop it!” Tega shouted at them.
CRASH!
The glass from the window scattered amongst the room as a dark figure crashed through it. Tega and the others turned to see a black witch flying towards them. The witch reached out her hand to grab Tega but was stopped by Nore clawing at her.
“A witch!” Tega shouted as she reached for her gun.
The witch squealed as she was knocked into the wall on the other side of the room.
“Tega, get out of here!” Nario yelled at her as he stood up next to his brother.
“Like hell!” she replied as she cocked her guns ready for a fight.
The witch stood up and threw her cloak off to the side revealing long-haired ginger with tight leather clothing on.
She flashed a cocky grin, “My, my, me. Isn’t this a little problem we have here?”
“What do you want?” Tega shouted as she kept her eyes locked on the witch.
“You,” the witch pointed at her.
“You will have to go through us first!” the twins demanded as they jumped in front of her.
"You must be joking?" the witch laughed.
The aching of her wretched high-pitched voice caused them to flinch.
“Not a chance!” Nario darted towards her.
She spun around him as he crashed into the wall. Laughter sputtered from her mouth as she danced around the room dodging attack after attack.
“Damn, she’s fast!” Nario huffed.
“She is definitely no witchling!” Nore added.
“You guys should just leave her to me,” Tega demanded as she fired across the room passing just inches from their faces.
The witch raised her hand as a flash of bluish fire dispersed the bullets. Tega dropped her guns, “I guess I am going to have to do this the hard way.”
“Tega!" Nore called out to her as she dashed past him.
The witch sneered as she threw a punch at her. Tega grabbed her arm and twisted it around causing the witch to turn with it. Landing on her feet, the witch kicked her in the side than in the face. Tega flew backward into the wall. Crashing to the floor, Tega spits up blood.
“She’s getting her ass kicked!” Nario yelled.
He started towards her but was blocked by Nore.
“She can do it by herself,” he told him.
Nario looked at him for a moment then turned back to the fight.
“You out already?” the witch cackled.
“I’m just getting started,” Tega replied as she stood to her feet.
“What is she doing?” Nario asked as he noticed her taking an unfamiliar stance.
Nore squinted as he noticed the dark aura starting to form around her. It was some kind of magic that she was conjuring. A dark, deep mist of evil and power suddenly surrounded her body. It was a powerful spell.
“What are you up to?” the witch peered.
“It’s a little something special I learned from an old friend,” Tega replied as she concentrated the dark aura around her fists.
“What?” Nario asked in confusion.
“Something is different about her,” Nore acknowledge.
“Ya think,” Nario leered.
“I hope you’re ready for a serious beating!” Tega roared as she rushed toward the witch.
The witch took a step back as she blocked Tega’s punch to her face.
“Ha!” Tega yelled as a sudden force of power pushed the witch back into the wall.
Tega zoomed from side to side towards her as she blasted magical energy at her. Swiftly, Tega was in front of her nose to nose.
“Curse you!” the witch scowled.
A smile flashed across Tega’s face.
“She—“ Nario noticed the aura turning from black to red.
Bam! Bam! Bam!
Blow after blow pounded against the witch’s body as blood splattered across the wall. The patterns created a strange mirage painting on the wall as if it was done by an angry painter in frustration.
“Tega?!” Nario called out to her once more.
Nore just stood as he watched the carnage from across the room. He noticed all the changes within Tega during the fight. It was as if she was a completely different person.
She was ruthless.
Smash!
A final blow to the witch as she falls to the ground in a pool of blood and broken bones.
“Betchu wasn't expecting that!" Tega teased as she stared down at the lump of broken flesh.
“N-no matter w-what you do. M-my master will…” the witch trembled, “he will kill…YOU!”
Tega grinned, “As I you.”
The witch’s eyes widen with fear as she noticed Tega forming a tight fist.
“Tega, don’t!” Nario commanded!
Ignoring his demand, Tega launched downward with a quick blow as a puff of smoke and blood filled the air engulfing the two.
She’s broken, Nore proclaimed.
