Tega was cleaning her brand-new Colt Revolver when the window shutter suddenly flung open, causing the misty air to blow into her bedroom. She was upset by the fact her floor was soaked in rain, but also once again Nore entered through the window instead of the front door.
“Do you know what a door is?” she scowled, not interrupting her gun cleaning.
“Yes, but I like the element of surprise,” he smirked.
“You’re going to be surprised one day when I fired a bullet at you,” she replied.
Shaking the water free from his body, he quickly got undressed.
“Seriously?” she sighed as she put the gun and kit away.
“Shall I stay soaked then?” he grinned.
“Of course not,” she grabbed a towel from the laundry pile in the corner and tossed it to him.
“Much better,” he dried off.
Sitting back down on the bed she watched him run the towel across his naked body. It wasn’t like she hadn’t seen him half-naked before but having him completely nude was mesmerizing.
“Do you have any clothes I can borrow?” he searched the room.
“Why would I?” she replied, “I am a female and I live alone.”
He tossed the towel down on the floor and walked over to her. He stood in front of her for a second before he leaned over the top of her inhaling her scent.
“I think it’s time for you to leave, Nore,” she gently pushed him back.
"Is that what you really want?" he grinned as he climbed on top of her causing her to lay back on the bed.
She didn’t reply to his question as she allowed him to kiss her. It was a strange feeling to give in to him so easily.
“Tega?” he whispered as he sat up.
She looked up at him and noticed the odd tint in his eyes. Normally they were a faded blue. Icy and strong. These eyes were red.
Fiery.
Angry.
“What’s going on with you?” she finally asked.
A fearsome grin spread across his face suddenly revealing a mouthful of razor teeth.
What?! She feared.
He opened his mouth wide as if to take a bite out of her.
Darkness.
She sat up in bed. Huffing and puffing from the nightmare as sweat-stained her purple satin sheets.
A dream.
Something’s wrong, she thought as she looked around the darkroom.
It was cold and quiet. The slow tapping of the broken faucet was an unwelcoming tune.
I must get out of here, she crept out of bed and stepped across the frozen floor to the bathroom.
Turning on the light, a sudden flash of black smoke smacked her in the face causing her to fall backward. She glanced up at the bathroom door but didn’t see anything.
The smoke was gone.
What’s going on?! She was getting suddenly frustrated.
A cold shiver crawled up her spine as a bony hand grabbed her shoulder.
Ah! She quickly sat up on the bed huffing and puffing.
It was another nightmare.
“What is happening to me?” she collapsed her head in her hands.
“You’re becoming your true self,” an eerily familiar voice answered.
"Who's there?!" she quickly sat up.
The warlock walked out from the shadows of the room as he bowed to her. She stood up and prepared herself for another fight.
“No need to defensive, “he smiled, “I came to dance!”
He zipped toward her as he wrapped his claws around her throat and kissed her.
Everything was suddenly black as random images flashed across the room. It was as if she was caught in a movie film.
Who are these people? she spoke to herself.
“This is your lineage,” he told her.
“What do you mean?” she called out.
There were many people.
Warriors…
Hunters…
Demons…
“Your bloodline goes back over 2000 years. Your father and his father were great and powerful hunters,” he explained.
“But, I-I am not a monster,” she cried.
“No, my dear Tega,” he replied, “You are much, much more.”
A bright white flash blinded her as the images came to a halt. She fell to the ground as she tried to regain her composure.
“Now do you understand?” he asked as he bent down to look her in the face.
“Wh-who are you?" she muttered.
“I,” he paused, “I am Lord Adrian Acheron Alvah.”
“You are Suri’s father,” she asked.
“No,” he growled, “that little witchling is a previous suitor that couldn’t make the cut.”
“The cut?” she responded in confusion.
“Yes,” he answered, “she wanted so bad to become my bride. She even went as far as to befriend you and block your existence from me.”
“Y-you’re wrong!” she swung at him.
He jumped back, “You will remember in time.”
“Remember what?” she moaned as she struggled to her feet.
“That you are my bride,” he grinned.
“Liar!” she screamed.
Thump!
Tega fell off the bed onto the floor as she wakes up from the nightmare.
Another nightmare! she groaned.
