"Estella!" I heard and turned to see Edam waving to me from the table he and Derik were sitting at. I weaved through the crowded cafeteria.
"Hey," I said as I walked up to the table.
"Hey, do you want to join us?" Edam asked, motioning to the empty seats.
I looked to the doorway seeing Klane walk by. "Sure," I said and set my drink down on the table. "Did you guys get the group assignment today?" I asked.
Edam nodded and tried to speak around the sandwich he had just taken a chunk out of.
I turned my attention to Derik, who was looking at his friend disgusted. He turned back to me. "Sorry, guess I haven't introduced myself." He smiled, and my heart stuttered. "I'm Derik." He nodded at me.
I smiled back. "Nice to meet you. how do you like the school so far?"
He shrugged one shoulder and leaned against the table. "haven't been here long enough to say one way or another, but it's certainly better then I expected."
"That's good." I was overly happy by the fact that he seemed to be enjoying his life.
"So for this assignment, we have to find different animal tracks and identify them. do you know of any areas where we could find good ones?" Edam asked.
"Hm. I know of a few." I looked back at Derik. "I can show you guys where if you need the help."
"Yes!" Edam said excitedly.
"Yes, what?" I turned and saw Torri and another girl, whose name I was pretty sure was Tash walk up.
"Estella just offered to help us find some of the tracks for the project." Edam beamed.
"Really? Thank you so much." Torri said, giving me a bright smile.
I nodded to her, and the two girls sat down. "So Estella, I heard you were one of the better students that graduated from here," Tash said, her tone meaningful.
I looked at her. "Well, they wouldn't have asked me to help out otherwise." I shrugged, turning away from her.
"I heard Henry asked for you specifically." She said, a smirk on her face, she wasn't going to let this up.
I focused my attention on her again, keeping a friendly, calm smile on my face. "I wouldn't know, the school contacted me." I paused and leaned my head on my hand. "Why? What are you implying?"
"Oh, nothing." She said, waving her hand.
I looked back to the others who were all looking between us with wide eyes. Torri snapped out of it first and turned to me. "When would you like to go?"
"Its whenever you are all free. I can free up my schedule pretty easily." I said to her, "I am getting paid to help the school, so other than helping out while everyone is here, I don't have much else to do."
"Perfect! When-."
"Is your hair colour real or fake?" Tash interrupted her. "Were all wondering if your actually albino or not." She said, her smirk plastered on her face again.
I sighed, annoyed by the brat. "Just let me know when you guys would like the help," I said and stood up.
"Aren't you going to answer!?" She said, sounding irritated.
"Tash!" Derik pipped up, anger rolling off of him.
I smiled at him and then looked at the girl. "Hun, that's for me to know." I walked around her. "And for you, tt never find out," I said over my shoulder and made my way out of the door.
I walked over to Klane, who was leaning against the wall. "Pissy one, isn't she."
"You heard that?" I laughed.
He tapped his ear. "Wolf hearing."
I made a noise, and we both continued down the hall.
