"I haven't done this in a while!" Captain Ren exclaimed as she slid in her large boots down the Feather Flyer's old slimy ramp. The ramp had been shoved against some dark, rough jetted rocks that formed outside of the underwater cave.
"The Captain, Araja and I will go ahead. The rest of you stay here and look after the girl." Nico yelled to the crew as he looked back at them, checking his surroundings. He then walked up along side the captain.
Anette ran to where the men had started to pull up the ramp. "Wait!" she called to the them. The men immediately stopped what they were doing. (Mainly because Anette was a pretty girl and pirates are known to do just about anything for a pretty girl.)
"I want to come with you!" She called to Ren, who had turned around to see what the commotion was.
"It's far too dangerous Lovely!" Ren told her. "Stay here where I know it's safe!" she commanded.
However, Anette had already jumped off the ramp and was running toward the three pirates. The young maiden was ready for an adventure. She wanted to go for two main reasons: One, to see how the captain truly acts out her deeds and Two, because it had gotten quite boring on the Feather Flyer and Anette wanted a change of pace. And the fact that they would have to dive down into sea water to get through to the cave was just a bonus that would help with Anette's head aches. She needed interaction with the ocean, no matter how she got it. Not being able to be near the ocean for her would be like a baby not being touched by it's mother.
"Please!" Anette begged, almost tripping when she ran up to Ren.
Catching her by the shoulders, the captain looked sternly into Anette's innocent, pleading eyes and said, "the answer is no." And with that, Ren walked away from Anette with Nico and Araja following behind with bewildered expressions. Never before had they seen their captain be that firm with the maiden. After a moment, Nico gave a hidden smirk and wrapped his arm around Ren's shoulder playfully.
"You really tore her a new one captain!" he joked.
However, the Captain was not in a joking mood. She stared at the ground as they walked across the rough, rocky terrain. Anette was left standing there, clenching her fists in frustration. She couldn't bare the fact that she was being left behind. ~I don't want to do this.~ she told herself, ~I'm in no position to demand things.~ these thoughts of self doubt didn't hold her back.
Anette took off running, the sharp edges of rock scraping her bare feet as she went. She didn't care. she caught up to the three and stopped a few feet ahead of them. "I'm going Ren. I want to go with you! I will not let you leave me behind!" She exclaimed.
Ren took a few steps closer to the girl, her mouth spread thin into an upset expression. Her eyes looked blank yet at the same time had frustration bubbling in them. Finally, her angry expression faded into a slight smile. "Fine." she agreed. "I suppose I can't stop you lovely." She walked ahead to the water hole, which they would have to go through to get to the cave.
Anette excitedly followed behind Ren. Soon Araja and Nico, still processing the situation caught up to the persistent maiden and the approving Captain.
