When Ethna opened her eyes, the wind stopped, leaving the leaves raining onto the ground. She inspected her surroundings only to find that it's the same place, only with an exception that it's eerily silent, with the absence of her brother.
Strangely the sky did not reflect the night, instead it was as though the dawn . But it couldn't be possible that she stood there, all night. Where is this? She thought.
At first, she thought it's another daydream, a daily occurrence of her life. That was what she believed until she fell onto the ground thus scratched by splinters of wood. One thing also, there's no way she's conscious in her dream, vivid dreams were hard to come by even for her.
She wondered why her feet felt cold, when she looked to the ground again, it's filled with water that rose about her ankle. A water so clear that she could see her disheveled look very well. It made a path somewhere. In the end, she decided to follow it.
As she went deeper, the trees became incomprehensible. It glows a radiant blue, with leaves that's replaced by something silver, as though stars. The woods covered the skies. Odd but pleasantly alluring.
Besides her pathways, there was floating ground. On it stood many peculiar creatures. Some were very adorable tiny creatures that resembled plants.
Ethna got intrigued by the cute ones, internally squealing and refraining to squeeze the poor plant-like animal. But then a presence entered, and that’s when she saw an entity resembling a deer, who’s quite gigantic. On its head grew a mountain, with a waterfall that streamed down his head. It’s as if Ethna saw the mother nature itself.
Just when she thought that would be the most majestic being she would ever saw, a warm gust of wind passed her by, with a cry above her head. She turned her head upwards only to see a bird-like organism, that’s burning with many colors of fire, with its eyes that’s made of gold.
Even for a girl full of fantasy, this is a lot to take.
"There's human!"
"Oh my, how did they get here?"
"Hurry! HURRY! Go tell master!"
Multiple voices chirped with its tiny, high frequency voice. Ethna went to the source of the noises, making the mushroom like things run to their hiding place.
'Master?' she pondered.
She followed the creatures only to head out to a tiny land. Ethna felt delighted that she could finally remove her shoes and dry her feet. She embraced the softness of the grasses for it was very soothing. She sat there, taking a breather after walking a long road.
After a moment of silence, she heard something faintly. Curious, her childish curiosity had been gripping her since she came here. She proceeded to pick up her boots and cloak, to the place where it came. In her journey there, she's encountered with even more magical plants, particularly flowers, flowers that she never seen before. It almost seemed like it was a garden.
When she got closer, that’s when she fully processed the sound, or to be precise a voice singing in a language that Ethna didn’t know. The voice was deep so it was probably a man. It gave Ethna a sense of tranquility, similar with the woman before yet a tad different. As she kept walking, she finally saw a figure behind the bushes and for the first time, she’s blown away by someone’s appearance.
The man had beautiful long platinum hair, so silky that Ethna believed that even the most handsome girl would envy. His hair interweaved neatly with a golden leaf clip that’s carved as though the leaves.
He wore a long blue coat that had a silver motif that shaped perfectly with his broad shoulder and thin limbs. His beautiful long fingers moved in sync with the rhythm of the song, waltzing through the air.
Ethna impetuously moved closer only to make the sound of the rustling leaves. The man stopped singing immediately, and if Ethna was not busy thinking about getting discovered, she would instantly regret the fact that she stopped him from producing those beautiful melodies.
Feeling very nervous of getting caught red-handed, Ethna closed her eyes and covered her mouth with her hands then she stepped backwards, tripping over a tree root.
A second passed and she felt a presence in front of her. When she opened her eyes again out of curiosity, she saw a hand in front of her, prompting her to take it.
"Do not fret, I don't bite"
She’s astonished by the bewitching voice that’s airy yet grounded.
Ethna shook her head to get out of the stupor, she took his hand promptly, which was rough despite its appearance.
Ethna stood up and after she felt not a single malice coming from the man, even when she, in a way, had stalked him. She then had the courage to face the man. She’s not sure whether to regret her sudden confidence because while his voice was 'bewitching' and 'enchanting', his face transcended any words that had been made.
As if clear water, his eyes mirrored the one he stared through. Ethereal, graceful, and beautifully lonely. His gaze was as though he's somewhere faraway, yet it pierced through your tiny soul like he was here, and only here.
His smile was very charming, bright yet serene. Ethna’s heart beat tremendously fast and she’s certain, any other human would feel the same. One thing that brought her attention outside his face was his ears. It's a bit pointy, which she heard legend said belonged to the line of Lucis and Tenebris, the twin entity that befall the land a long time ago. A myth that even she didn’t believe to be true and the entity before her, was the proof that tale was not a lie.
