“You children are in great danger. Especially yooou.” As she said this, she raised a shaking finger forward up as she said this and looked straight ahead.

The two boys looked at each other in confusion as the old woman pointed at a street lamp that was a few feet to their right.

“Um…” Ben mumbled while waving at her. “We’re over here.”

She turned her head towards them with a surprised look and immediately tried to play it off.

“Oh, there was a spirit over there”, she said as she pulled out her thick-rimmed glasses and placed them on her face, giving the appearance that her eyes were much larger than they actually were. She coughed a couple of times and resumed speaking.

“As I was saying…” She looked up and saw that the boys were already further down the street.

“Yeah, yeah. Ok lady.” Ben said while confidently striding without even turning back towards the old woman while waving a hand. They continued to walk off while the old woman just shook her head.

“Poor children,” she said.
