'Love is not only blind, it's deaf, dumb, and deadly!'
"They taste amazing don't they!"
A husky voice whispered into my ear. Looking at him. I plastered a questioning look to my face. I don't understand. Before I could make sense of his words, full pink lips were placed on mine. He pulled away, smirking.
"Your lips. I honestly don't know who taught you to be so flirty, but I love it when you bite your lips." He lovingly placed light kisses on my lips.
I cried out as fingers with an indecent agender began to roam my lower body. Stripping me bare in mere seconds. The words I wanted to say were lost in the sea of pleasure. Mhn. Ngh... What are you doing to me?
"Ace! I have work today. Stop!" I desperately tried to free myself from his hold. Ah!
"I'll be your client for the day and I'll pay you for your day's work," said Ace. He continued littering kisses on my body. I desperately tried to free myself from his grasp.
"The money isn't the problem. Aah! Ace seriously, my Boss would fire me!" He raised up, placing his lips on mine. I slammed my hands into his chest and slid off the bed.
Waves of pain ran down the length of my arm, but I refused to let it be seen. His dark pools stilled, the chills felt as he stared at me caused me to shake. A pale hand shot out grabbing me by the neck. He yanked my body to him. I ended up sitting in his lap on the bed.
"This..." He pointed at the scar on my shoulder, "means that this..." He pointed at my chest, "is mine." Ace viciously bit down on my bottom lip, before placing a feather light kiss on the abused area. "I own this body. If I say to stay home you will stay home!" I struggled until I freed myself from his clutches.
"Sorry to say this, but I have a life outside of you; I have people in my life of more importance than you. For example MY BOSS! So deal with it!" Anger and venom laced my words. His dark eyes flared to life.
"No one should be more important than me!"
"That's not my fucking problem!" I spat, while getting up from the bed. The world slowed as I fell onto my back.
"Nasty words like that shouldn't be leaving your mouth." Ace pinned me beneath him. My eyebrows furrowed in annoyance. A pang of rebellion took over me, "Fucking demon do your worst!" I dared him.
A door was shut. "Damien! Morning!" Neither of us said anything. Panic consumed me. This is bad. He's going to... "Screwing on a Monday morning isn't acceptable. Get dressed. I need a ride to the dealership."
The thick faced bastard leaned on the bedroom door whilst staring at us. I rolled my eyes.
"Ok. I'm coming."
"No you're not. Isn't clear, we're screwing." A certain possessive pig stated. Joshua's eyes lowered threateningly, but he said nothing and walked down the hallway. I shoved Ace's body off of me.
"Do you have any shame?" He scoffed in response.
"Do you? I'm still dressed." Huh. Point taken.
"I'm going to make sure he has breakfast. I'm coming back." Ace looked at me as though I had gone mad.
"Damien where your priorities lie are beginning to worry me," said Ace. I frowned. What? "Your clothes Damien!" I looked down blinking twice and walked past him, still nude out the bedroom door.
"Why are you here?" I stated frankly, snatching a decorative figurine out of Joshua's sticky fingers.
"Someone told me you had a new visitor that comes by every Sunday and leaves every Monday. Being who I am, I had to meet the lucky lady in your relationship. However I'm disappointed... It seems you're the lady, then again... that's a given."
Images of when we first met flashed through my mind. I stopped rummaging through the fridge and looked at him. He sat on the bar stool behind the island looking full of himself.
"Fuck you!" I slammed the fridge shut and began to prepare the meal.
"Oh! No peppers, thanks," said Joshua. I glanced up at him. His brown hands made a stopping motion.
"I know, they weren't for you." I dutifully made two gourmet egg and cheese omelets with toasted bagels to go on the side. I placed a full plate before him.
"When can I stop feeding you?"
"When you find me another wife."
"Of course dear husban..." The jokingly spoken words stay lodged in my throat at Ace's dark glare.
I cleared my throat. Joshua looked over his shoulder taking on Ace's stare without breaking a sweat. His icy blue eyes followed Ace's every move.
"We haven't been introduced." He addressed Ace. "Introduce us!" He demanded smiling brightly at me. I ignored him resting a full plate in front of Ace, before continuing with my clean up. "It's going to happen sooner or later..." I dropped the frying pan noisily into the sink and turned around to face them.
"Joshua this is Ace... ah... my per ... son?" Ace's stormy eyes looked at me with disdain. I skimmed over his feelings.
"Ace this is Joshua... my close friend."
"Nice to meet you." Ace smiled warmly, extending his hand to Joshua. The sudden switch in Ace's temperament was capricious and unnerving.
Joshua extended his hand, graciously shaking Ace's. The entire exchange that followed, between the young man and the older man was high-flown and drawn out. One male stood firmly defending his unchallenged position, while the other acted as though he had already been crowned King.
I swallowed thickly seeing the truth behind their fake pleasantries. This condo can't hold two Alphas! I cut their conversation short.
"It's only going to take a few minutes to shower and get dressed. Don't... do anything." Finished clearing away the kitchen, I felt happy that it had returned it to its original state. Clean.
Joshua placed down his fork. "I'll help you find something to wear. You're heading to ... work right?" I nodded.
"Perfect. Do you still have that shirt from..." We walked down the hallway together. I peeked over my shoulder to see a raging bull staring at us. I shuddered, quickening my footsteps.
"Well?" I spun around in front of the floor length mirror.
"You look, edible." Ace's voice heavy with green emotion tickled my ears. He walked past me into the bathroom shutting the door. Joshua raised his arm off his eyes.
"Of course he looks good! I dressed him!" Joshua got up from the bed. "Whenever he's ready."
"What?"
"You're leaving him alone in your condo?" Oh.
"Sorry I had a slow moment." He nodded in agreement.
"When he's around do those happen a lot?" Joshua teased. I ignored his laughter.
"Alright out before he comes back." I chased him out the room. He walked out, closing the door behind him.
I looked around the room ensuring I had everything. Hmn? I pat myself down. Where is it? I searched the room high and low for it for around ten minutes. I entered the closet and walked around twice. Where the hell is it?
"Damien, what's this?" Standing with a towel loosely tied around his waist Ace shook the small bottle before my eyes.
If it wasn't for the importance of it, I would have stared brazenly at the deep v line on his abdomen. Sexy. I cleared my head. Within the blink of an eye I stood before him. His eyebrows furrowed as he lifted the bottle out of my reach.
"Are you sick? What are these?" said Ace. I said nothing in response. My eyes refused to break contact with the unlabeled bottle. I watched its contents dance and shake at random.
"Answer my questions!" said Ace. His voice threatened me to do otherwise.
Shocked to my senses. I retreated by three steps before an arm speedily nabbed me by the waist.
"Damien, my patience is only so thick." He demonstrated the width of his index finger. "For the last time. Answer me! And don't you dare lie to me!" He snarled.
"They're multivitamins!" I blurted out without thinking.
"With no label? And so small in size?" He popped the cap of the cylindrical orange container and passed it below his nose. "Guess I'll take one then." He tilted the container to his lips.
My eyes grew to twice their original size. I snatched the container out of his hand, closing it.
"They are multivitamins." His eyes darkened as he repeated my earlier words.
I swallowed thickly. The wind from my sails were sucked away. The bottle dropped from my fingers as I crumbled to the floor clutching my side. Pain etched itself into every square inch of my face. I looked up at him. That wasn't necessary!
"Lying is not allowed. What are these?" He bent down picking up the bottle less than a meter away. I stayed silent refusing to answer. I'd rather die than admit to taking those. Ace shook the bottle a few times. His face was stoic as he looked at me for an answer he'd never receive.
"Damien, remember that I love you." His voice was smooth and disarming. The voice used did not match his facial expression at all.
Cupping my chin with his fingers. He lifted my face to his, and placed his lips on mine. Sucking passionately on them as he undid the buttons of my shirt. His tongue roamed my mouth overpoweringly. Ace! I pushed against his chest.
The lack of air became more and more alarming as the seconds ticked by. A hot hand scaled my body and slid up my chest, before firmly gripping my neck. He broke the suffocating kiss, only to initiate another. I clawed at his now dry skin. My mind went blank. If not for Ace's firm hold I would have been knocked to the floor.
The pain that exploded from the side of my head throbbed as his fist came crashing down mercilessly. He released my lips trailing kisses on my jawline.
"The obedient ones last the longest. You should listen more." He licked my ear as he brought his fist down several times over on the side of my stomach. I bit down on my tongue enduring the pain.
I shouldn't have lied. This is my punishment. I deserve this. I leaned into his chest, laying my head on his shoulder.
"I shouldn't have lied. I'm sorry." I whispered in-between swallowing my iron tasting salvia. His hand stopped midair. Unable to think of much else I stayed still. The painful aches of my damaged body kept my company in the silence.
"Damien." He whispered my name in a deep voice.
"Yes, Ace." He kissed my forehead.
"I hope this situation never repeats itself. If it does..." He littered more kisses on my face. I would rather you place these kisses on my lips. I thought, but said nothing.
"...you can hit me some more. If it helps me to atone for my errors. If it lets you forgive me... then go ahead." He peeled me off himself.
"Do you mean it?" He searched my eyes for more lies. What are you looking for? I gave it to you. You have it now, can't you see? I've given you power over me.
"Yes, I meant it." This is what I deserve. Salty tears rolled down my cheeks.
Inch after inch the space between us closed. Silky lips crashed onto mine, giving me my heart's desires. I cried relentlessly. The pain in my heart and head coupled with my side was tremendous. Gentle hands caressed my back.
"You are self-aware and that saves me trouble. I don't want to see you hurt Damien. Honestly, but sometimes you leave me with no other choice. In those cases, I have to use force." He pulled on my bottom lip with his teeth. Not wasting a second he kissed me. Showering me in affection, his delicate touch made my heart flutter.
"Suppres..." I murmured. He paused.
"Repeat what you said." I cleared my throat.
"Suppressants. Appetite suppressants." I spoke slowly to ensure he understood.
"Why are you taking them?" I broke eye contact for a second before turning back to him.
"They help, sometimes at work..." I looked at him blatantly lying to his face. His eyes were becoming darker by the second. "...time is precious to me. So I use them to cut meals here and there. Nothing serious."
"Are you being overworked?" Is that what you gathered from my words?
"Uh, no."
"Are you trying to lose weight?"
"No!" Is this a session with Pamela? Why so many questions! Let me starve in peace!
"Stop taking these things then." He demanded.
"I need them."
"No, you need food. For example breakfast. I saw you didn't eat earlier and now I know the story. You are never missing another meal." I began to sweat. That won't work! If I as much as smell a cookie I gain 1 kilo!
Knocking was heard at the door.
"We're coming." He shouted over my head.
Ace began to dress himself. My clothes were fixed in an orderly manner. Fixing my collar, he looked engrossed in the simple actions. Thick black eyebrows bent in concentration, over wide black eyes, a small nose, and thin pink lips. I looked away. Ouch! I turned to the culprit who stared at me innocently.
"What was that for?" I lamented at my bleeding lip.
"You took your eyes off me." And?
"You didn't have to bite me!" He shrugged.
"It felt right."
Ninety-nine grievances could be listed in a heartbeat and Ace Ackerman's name resided in each one. How am I going to explain this to my boss?! I flicked my tongue over the slightly swollen area out of curiosity. Tsk.
The moment I noticed his back was turned, I secretly shoved the discarded pill container into my pants pocket. We all exited the condo and headed down the elevator. A black car awaiting Ace's arrival was parked outside the reception area. Before stepping out, he placed a light kiss on my lips. I watched the car pull off.
"What would happen if he knew where you were actually going?" said Joshua.
"He'd kill me for sure. Good acting by the way." He smiled pulling me into his embrace.
"Anything for you dear wife." Joshua and I walked to the carpark and left the condominium.
