After the Dragon vanished into the book, Ray reluctantly went near it.
"Should I take the book or should I leave it be,"
"What should I do?"
"If I take the book, will it eat me like it ate the Dragon or perhaps,"
Such thoughts were continuously flowing in Ray's mind.
But, after calming down, Ray realizes that the book had plenty of opportunities to eat him before this ordeal.
"Na, it won't happen, it had many chances to do so,"
"If not for the book, I might surely be lying dead inside the Dragons belly by now,"
"Guess, I should carry the book with me for now at least who knows it might be useful again in some shape or form in the future,"
Ray finally decides to takes the book with him.
The Dragon chasing, which happens earlier had lead Ray to the border of a forest, situated south of the river.
"Man, it will be dark soon,"
"I should set a makeshift camp on top of a tree,"
"Who knows what kind of creatures crawl during the night,"
"It's better to be safe than sorry,"
"Camping on top of a tree sounds safer at least for now,"
with a fear of monsters running rampant in Ray's mind, he decides to climb the nearest tall tree and spends his night there.
The night was cold, Ray couldn't Sleep well due to him having a hungry stomach.
Daybreak.
"Finally, took you long enough, you stupid sun!"
"I am dying out of hunger, you know."
Ray's hunger is at its peak. He quickly picks a nearby sturdy branch and cuts it into a spear using sharp stones, which he found lying around the tree where he was camping.
"Now that My makeshift spear is ready,"
"It's time to go fishing!"
The terrain around the river was plain, making it was easy to see nearby mountains that were covered in ice.
"Looks like the water is coming from the glaciers located upstream high up in the mountains,"
Saying that Ray drank his first sip of water from the river.
"Finally some freshwater to drink after waiting for so long,"
Ray says it in a crying tone.
After quenching his thirst, Ray soon began to catch some fish with his makeshift spear.
"I thought the water might not be drinkable,"
"But, now that I can drink water without any fear of Death or any side-effects, I can only hope to catch fish to fill my stomach."
Ray then started catching fish.
"Yeah,"
"I guess this much fish will be enough for today. "
After the matters of water and food were settled, Ray went back to the forest to fortify his camp.
"Now, that water and food is no longer an issue, I better get to building up my camp."
It took five days of non-stop Labor with added breaks in between for Ray to build his camp.
Seventh-day,
"Hahaha"
"Finally, my base camp is operational now!"
"Now, seems to be a good time as any to map this weird place,"
"Let's start with the forest today,"
"From there, I'll circle the surrounding area one by one."
Ray says this to himself.
He ventured into the forest, where he came across various trees and bushes that had fruits, berries, and mushrooms growing on them.
"Well, the forest is filled with various trees, but no fruit, berry, or mushrooms seem edible,"
"I better not eat them, for now at least."
While Ray was moving deep into the forest, he accidentally stepped on something.
"Puff.. , Puff.."
Ray looked bellow to see on what did he stepped on.
"Ah, berries,"
"They don't look edible to me,"
"Darn it, my leg is all mixed with berry goo!"
Ray tried to clean the goo, but some of it left a fine print of blue color on his feet, which at first he thought might be poisonous but, it didn't seem to affect him at all.
"These berries,"
"They might be useful."
The minor accident with the berries gave Ray an excellent idea.
"Ink!"
"They seem to be good substitutes for making ink."
"Let's head back,"
Ray said to himself.
Nightfall.
After he came back, Ray immediately started to make ink, as it was his first attempt, it takes three whole hours to make a proper blend, which was worth giving a try.
"Now, let's see if it works or not."
Ray tried to draw the map of the region form his memory in great detail on the first pages of the book.
The ink soon dried.
But just then,
"What the .."
"The map it's disappearing."
At first glance, Ray thought it was a bad batch of ink that he had made.
"Man, all my effort has gone to waste."
"No, wait."
"Something is happening?"
This is for the first time that the book has responded to Ray.
"Interesting!"
"The map, it looks like someone has taken a picture for outer space and printed it on this page."
All sorts of thoughts were running in Ray's mind.
"Finally, a glimmer of hope."
"Now, let's ask you some questions, shall we."
"Let's see,"
"What to ask first?"
"Eeny, meany, miny, moe,"
Ray asks the book one of the simple questions lingering in his mind.
"What is your name?"
The book replied by absorbing the written ink on the page, inscribing its name on the same pages.
"The book of worlds."
