The time has come, the thing I have been stressing over is here. I have to give my report to my father.
Walking into his room a chill goes down my spine. A small lamp clicks on, giving light for a person's shadow. I see father's shadow shift towards me.
"Lydia. Your report."
I steady myself before I answer. "Yes, father."
"What I have learned from keeping tabs on the new student."
"His name is Ren Ion, and he lives with his father who is rarely home."
"He seems to have a friendship maybe something deeper with Kippy Blaze, a classmate at school.
"I feel bad tailing them, when they left the party and leaving Kip to keep tabs on them but I didn't have a choice."
"However his father is harder to track, I listened into their conversation."
"I have learned two things. First, his father and him don't seem on the best of terms."
"Second, judging by their fight about having Kippy Blaze in their house, his father isn't human. But sadly I cannot confirm what kind of monster he is, just by their conversation either. I can only confirm that his father is a loner type of monster."
"Enough about the boy. Go on about the girl. Your friend."
My heart starts to pound as his shadow grows in the light.
"As you know I have been keeping on tight tabs since our we met." I have new information since this party."
"At the Halloween party last week, we bumped into Ren. I regretfully lost them in the crowd. That's when found Kippy Blaze with Ren Ion."
"Kippy Blaze had fainted and Ren Ion on the ground."
"I had Ion carried her back, to his house since it was close and to keep tabs on him."
"I couldn't keep tabs on Kippy Blaze, but assuming Ion had a role to play into Kippy Blaze's fainting I kept better tabs on him."
"I end my report sir." My heart pounding louder.
His shadow returned to human shape but I could tell even in the faint light his body wasn't completely human. The chill came again.
"It sounds like quite the night, you got the information I wanted on the boy."
"But, play favorites and you won't see your mother anytime soon."
"Yes, sir. I will remember that!" I reply as the door opened and the light went out.
As dawn begins to break all the stress begins to fade as I finally fall asleep in my bed.
