Daybreak,

"Ahh... ha..."

"Man, morning already."

Ray had spent most of last night introspecting the book by asking it series of questions, most of which got no answer except for two.

"I spent the whole night asking questions upon questions until I ran out of ink to spare,"

"Guess I'll have to make a fresh batch again."

"Anyway, it was worth it at the end of the day,"

"Getting an answer to two of my questions is better than getting an answer to non."

"What were those questions again?"

"Yeah, I remember now,"

"The first one had something to do with its name. I guess?"

"But most important was the second one."

"The second question was about how the darn book works,"

"Yeah,"

"'The book of worlds' ha, it sure is a funny name."

Last night when Ray wrote the second question on the book

a list of three phrases, along with an instruction right bellow each appeared.

"Well, I better get those berries to make the next batch."

"After all, I do have to test those new Features the book has got."

The book had inscribed a map on the first page, Ray uses it to gather the berries in no time.

"This map sure is handy,"

"It lacks some key features, but overall it works just fine. I guess,"

After making the next batch, Ray goes to an open area located near to his camp.

"Now's the time to bust out some new abilities,"

"Let's, try it in sequence, shall we!"

"First is.."

"Barrier, right?"

"Alright then, Barrier!"

"What?.."

" Barrier!"

"?"

"Nothing happen?"

"Man, I was so excited for a change."

"Let's, try another and get it over with then,"

"Store!"

"Great!"

"What a surprise this one Doesn't work as well,"

"I hope at least the last one works,"

"Warp!"

"Man, what a Cliché."

Right then, a gust of wind flowed towards Ray,

A shadow loomed over his head. Ray looked above and muttered in a low voice,

"Why does this feel familiar?"

Ray started running and Screaming, after all, a Dragon was approaching towards him,

Ray Screams with fear looming in the back of his head,

"Man, I hate Dragons!"

Unlike the previous Dragon, this one was bigger, faster even.

"Aaa!"

"I am running out of words to describe these a**holes!"

"Aaa!"

The Dragon soon caught up to Ray and then,

"Boom!"

A huge crackling Noise was heard echoing all around Ray.

Ray Stopped and looked behind him only to realize that the Dragon was knocked dead by an invisible spherical wall covered all around him.

"ha!"

"So, one of the skills did work!"

"Judging by the effect, I think it was Barrier,"

"Looking back, the name of the skill even had an asterisk before it,"

"maybe, the asterisk means that the skill is available usage."

Ray was curious. He placed his right hand onto the dead Dragons scales to Know how it felt touching A Dragon's corpse. Right at that moment, the book started to glow in bright Blue light,

"Wow!"

"What's up with this blue light?"

The pages of the book started flipping, a script appeared on one of its pages.

["Aura fragment has been acquired!"]

"What Aura fragment?"

Ray speaks loudly to himself,

The book hears the statement made by Ray, gives a reply on a blank page for the first time.

[Aura fragments not enough to give a reply!]

"Not enough, Aura fragments?"

Right after that, the book stops glowing.

"What Does Aura fragment even mean?"

Ray shouts loudly again, the book replied similarly to earlier.

[Aura fragments not enough to give a reply!]

"Wait!"

"Did the book hear my voice just now?"

"Did this aura whatever upgrade the book or something?"

"Let's confirm it first."

"Map!"

The pages of the book flipped, going back to the first page showing the map.

"This makes things convenient now, doesn't it?"

"Whatever this Aura fragment is, I got it when I touched that Dragon's corpse earlier, maybe? if I kill more of them and repeat the same process, the book might tell me more."

Right, when Ray was about to head back to the camp, the map started filling with a new kind of symbol. It did not too long for Ray to realize that it was a large group of Dragons that appeared all around him.

"Hundred! maybe,"

"No, Thousand."

Ray said to himself.

Unlike the last two encounters, Ray seems confident this time around as he had a powerful Shield to Protect him from any harm.

The group of Dragons started circling Ray, and then Dragons of all shapes and sizes approached near him from all directions.

"You want me, then come and get me!"

Ray shouts.

When the Dragons came close enough, Ray shouted as loud as he possibly could.

"Barrier!"

"Boom!"

The Dragons that approached Ray did so with so much velocity that when they made contact, an explosion of pure kinetic energy got produced, killing all the Dragons that attacked Ray.

"How many did I get?"

"Hundred perhaps, or maybe Two-hundred."

Ray took notice that the barrier only made itself visible when an object with kinetic energy enough to potential to harm him. This meant that any slow-moving Object will pass right through it, making it look invisible.

"If the Dragons figured out this loophole, they will get creative for sure."

Whether it was luck or coincidence, the remaining Dragons that survived began to flee in a frenzy.

"They are running away!"

"Finally, something to note in history,"

"I feel a bit Proud today,"

"Anyway, before they change their mind, I better collect the Aura fragments,"

Ray quickly started tapping each of the Dragon corpses to collect the Fragments, but only a select few had the fragments.

"What only four!"

"if only I knew how it all works?"

"So much work only to get so little."

"How disappointing,"

"Even after that, it looks like four fragments weren't enough to get the job done."

Despite his effort, the book did not evolve,

"Well, at least some good came out of it."

Ray decides it would be best if he changes his location. As he had to find more Fragments and avoid any encounter with any more Dragons if possible.

"It will be night soon,"

"I better stay here for tonight, I'll Depart towards the south along the river."
